  1. Well... Rock or bust was a bit of a vault album. Old material Angus and Malcom had written etc. Creatively bankrupt and Axl are said far too regularly around here. There is a big difference between not releasing music and being creatively bankrupt. According to people who interact with him, he is always writing and recording, so I think if anything he has too many creative ideas and he just needs to be focussed. There are also artists in their 60s still playing and creating great music. And that discussion was had a few months back, and people listed so, so many great older artist

  2. Recent interview with a (from what I understand) Buckethead fan site. Brain says that the chicken coop in the studio was real, but the story about Buckethead watching porn there wasn't true. The articles where Tom Zutaut talked about Buckethead (among other things): Classic Rock, March 2008: https://www.loudersound.com/features/guns-n-roses-the-making-of-chinese-democracy Billboard, 2018: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/8490842/guns-n-roses-chinese-democracy-album-legacy ------------------------------ There are eight more parts

  4. Agreed. New music would be the obvious answer for how to make it worthwhile, but they'll probably just add Pretty Tied Up and call it a 'UYI anniversary tour' On topic, I've listened to OTGM from the Houston show a lot over the last few days. It sounds like a 2006 performance featuring Slash. It's awesome!

  5. I love Move to the city on Live Era. It's gotta be one the best showcases of the band's musicianship, instrumentally wise. When Axl goes "Ladies and gentlemen: the band!" I'm in for a ride.

  6. I know mate. There has been too many positive indicators to suggest we will get something. And - if we don’t get anything....it’s not going to make me enjoy what we have any less and it’s not the end of the world! 😂

  7. Detroit 2016 was the first (And only) time I've seen OTGM live. It's always been one of my least favorite songs on Appetite, but when they play it with Axl in shape vocally, it punches you right in the face. It's so damn aggressive. Highlight of the gig for me, hands down.

  8. Oh, the irony... Lights fire to protest cops. Lights himself on fire then needs the same cops he's protesting against to put the fire out, to save his life...

  10. The re-recorded vocals on Live Era are very much Axl Rose at the very top of his game. I couldn’t tell you the last time I listened to Appetite, if I ever want to listen to Jungle etc, it’s always Live Era.

  15. That’s a fucking bizarre statement from one of slash’s best friends. I mean Buckethead is a very good guitarist, but to make out he’s someone who can replace slash like for like as if that was an easy thing to do is madness. Buckethead and slash are two different guitar players and neither can replace the other.

  16. Live Era is GN'R on steroids. Fucking amazing. Rocket Queen is vastly superior than what is on Appetite. Axl's re-recorded vocals are 10/10

  19. Wow.. You should get it!! I know people talk shit about it around here but it is still a really good album.. You have to be an super GnR nerd to notice the over dubs or whatever.. That isn't a knock on anyone here either, but most people wouldn't notice. We are all super GnR nerds to some extent. I never knew until I saw people posting about it on the boards and there is still some great stuff that wasn't touched.. The version of You're Crazy alone is worth picking up a copy. Jungle, Estranged and even Rocket Queen with the missing guitar track are all great!

  20. It's not a bad song but I wouldn't say it's a standout track either. I guess that says more about the quality of the rest of the album though... when it's surrounded by the other "side 1" tracks it gets overshadowed.

  21. It's probably my third favorite song on Appetite so that's kinda hard understand for me

  22. Various experiments in socialist thought dont necessarily directly shed light on other experiments in socialism. So labours efforts might not compare to other experiments in housing models in the capitalist context. I think you hit the nail on the head when you spoke of contradictions! Accusations of "Hypocrisy" has been weaponized by the right of late - just see all DDs posts, lol. Not saying thats where you are coming from of course. But marxism already talks about the contradictions of capitalism that we all have to contend with. In this case capitalism offers "freedom" but contradicts

  23. Thanks @soon. One of the British Labour Party's founding aims was to end landlordism, and it has gotten far worse. Mostly due to Conservative policy, but frankly Labour saw it coming in the 90s and did nothing. You can be a hypocrite if you say you believe in one thing, then engage in an activity or behaviour which contradicts it. Even if it's perfectly legal to do so. Being a landlord is different than participating in other areas of the economy, as they are making a profit simply by getting there first. They don't add value (a builder or plumber does). They just make housing more

  26. Seeing as we're sharing ''quarantaine'' diary entries from early March... March 2, 1944 Dearest Kitty, Margot and I were in the attic together today. I can't enjoy being there with her the way I imagine it'd be with Peter (or someone else). I know she feels the same about most things as I do! While doing the dishes, Bep began talking to mother and Mrs. van Daan about how discouraged she gets. What help did those two offer her? Our tactless mother, especially, only made things go from bad to worse. Do you know what her advice was? That she should think about all the other people

  29. Of America? All should be trialed for treason to His Majesty George III. But speaking seriously, Hamilton, Washington - Washington because he hated political parties - and probably John Adams. Americans eulogise Jefferson more than Hamilton, but I believe America was made to resemble more Hamilton's vision rather than the vision Jefferson espoused, of agrarian democracy.

  30. Axl turned me onto Zeppelin. It took awhile though. I thought I was going to hear D’Yer Maker and be blown away. I was not.

  31. If all of the rumors of a "turned in" rejected 2010 album are true, there is a possibility as I'd imagine such an album was circulated within the industry.

  32. Great answers here. A lot has been mentioned. In regards to the shows he's been to, I think Kiss is on that list too. Axl's the reason I got into Sweet and Nazareth. I remember reading that Sweet was his first favorite band and Nazareth his current. I was just starting to get into music so suggestions were always welome. Coming from the man himself meant so much more. I love the 70's glam era, Cooper, Glitter (I know, I know, but his music still rocks), Bowie, Slade, T.Rex, Sweet. There was a time I was telling people Nazareth should be as big as Zeppelin. Obviously Zeppelin are a cl
