  1. Saw them in 2018 in Tallinn. I am also done w the same setlist, Axl's vocals degrading and shitty merch. Only good thing in the past few years are the leaks, really love State Of Grace. Team Brazil and lazy Fat Axl are acting like SCOM is the biggest thing that still needs to be celebrated, even after severely overplaying it everywhere for fucking 33 years. I have been lurking here occasionally, but I prefer GNFNR for the fat content just for something to laugh about while the band is basically insulting its fans, sitting on their fat asses and doing nothing.

  3. Paul McCartney just announced a new album, written and recorded entirely by himself during the lockdown. I wonder if Fernando is going to tell him he should respect what's going on in the world?

  5. On a side note: Smashing Pumpkins are going crazy releasing new songs: new double album "CYR & The colour of Love" (20 songs), yet "unnamed" double/triple album (33 songs), "Shiny and oh so bright" Vol. 2 & 3 (18-20 songs), "MACHINA" triple album (50 songs)... up to 123 new songs, although a lot of the "MACHINA" songs are already out there, but have never been officially released.

  6. Admins plz delete x In all seriousness, the above was always my saving grace when I thought Axl had lost his vocal chops during 2011/14 with some exceptions. If we haven’t heard it, then it’ll be new to us and it ties in with RNR’s post about the KISS reunion album. Songs written throughout the Chinese sessions were from a man with a chip in his shoulder, in the midst of what would be normally described as an artists creative peak and a point to prove to those that left him standing and not some record assembled half arsed for the sake of reuniting. Going by what we got on Chinese and the

  7. No new album. Funny how some artists can put together an album in 6 to 7 weeks and GN’R can’t in almost 5 years. So much wasted time with this band. It’s easy to say, no we don’t have any new music coming out or yes, we should by end of year. This band could have been one of the all-time greats, but pissed it away.

  8. I read yesterday how Todd Kerns said that a new smkc album is coming out in 2021 which means a tour as well . i’m guessing this means no new guns album until at least 2022 or 2023. do you think they just don’t have the material? What’s the hold up? I know tickets weren’t selling well for the stadium tour that was planned that was canceled due to Covid. From what I read it was not an extension of the ‘not in this lifetime‘ tour but a new tour on its own . Not sure what the tour was supporting ? It’s not a reunion tour anymore. And there was no new album being promoted.

  9. Someone should buy billboards saying things like "release Soul Monster" and "release The General" in every direction from Axl's house, so he has to drive past them.

  10. I got the deal of a century thanks to you! Moving to a new place, so I'll find a cool spot for it in my "music room"

  11. Yeah, that's a whole side of things that isn't considered much. I have sympathy with that sort of thing. I find it funny that some people bought this 'as an investment' though. The devaluation of it has been insane. It will put me off the UYI reissue (if it happens) if it isn't sensibly priced from the outset. There's no way I'll pay out for a box set that I think will be a quarter (or less) of the price within a year. I'm pretty convinced they'll make the same mistake of overpricing again.

  12. I made the right decision there. The heater started coding again. I can start it manually but it's done. Put a positive spin on it, at least it went out now instead of the dead of winter or middle of a heat wave in the summer. Crackheads.

  13. Working smart, not hard isn’t laziness. You’re a very active gardener! Homeless pot heads whom we don’t want to turn to crack. At least the few mustard micros I got were more flavourful.

  14. I'm a lazy gardener. I have to bring the potheads home tomorrow. They took down the cold frames where I use to over winter them. I don't want the clay pots to get wet, freeze and crack.

  17. How much snow do you normally get? My sister in Michigan is digging up all her bulbs for the winter. What she does to winterize her garden is far more then I would ever want too. I mow it down and throw leaf mulch on it.

  19. They are going to release a 33-song sequel to Mellon Collie and Machina after releasing Cyr, the new double album that will come out next month. I'm guessing that will be more rocking again after their little synth-pop adventure. And if that's not enough, after that they will release Shiny volume 3, yet another new record. So we are basically getting three new records, with two of them being double albums. It's crazy how productive they are. https://www.nme.com/news/music/smashing-pumpkins-announce-mellon-collie-and-the-infinite-sadness-sequel-album-2795111?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=

  26. They will if your an attentive lover. We've moved on from "bite the grass love I'm going in dry" Drakeford has played it well do far but this smacks of making it up as they go along. Imagine living on Anglesey or in Pembrokeshire in rural West Wales where they are basically Covid free and being told you can only go out for half an hour. Simpletons to a man, but there's no need for them to have the same restrictions as Cardiff surely.

  27. I think what they did with ADKOT in terms of reworking old songs was a really smart move. Why toil over writing a full album of material from scratch, when you know you have a bunch of unreleased gems tucked away in the vault, that just need a bit of polish? Material from when they were young and hungry with everything to prove. I remember reading somewhere that the album was around half old, half new songs. Anyway, the energy on that record is astounding, really and, as mentioned, Eddie plays like a demon throughout. It's not a perfect record like 1984 or Fair Warning were, I agree, there's o

  29. Sorry, not my cup of tea. I have the right to say I don't like their albums, because it's my opinion. That's not bullshitting them. With Detroit Rock City, God Of Thunder and IWMFLY they've at least 3 good songs

  30. If the CD era band put out 2-3 albums between 2000-2015 or whatever I wouldn't really care about a new album by the current lineup.

  32. That would be the next logical step of disappointment if they ever release something at all. I can totally see it. Most songs will be shitty Chinese leftovers with ancient vocals and some lazy Slash solos. Two "punk" songs sung by Duff and 2 SMKC style hard rock standards from Slash. Followed by a neverending tour.

  33. Always up for whatever Slash has to offer. Sometimes I love it, sometimes not, but it's always worth checking out and even on his least-inspired albums (Libertad for example), there's still a handful of keepers. Slash, unlike Axl, remains an artist.

  34. I still think I got the deal of the century out of this whole thing. I jumped on it when they were giving the box away with a bad ass turntable. I jumped on it then and got a turntable to give to a friend who desperately needed an upgrade. Then I got the 12" and 7" vinyl I wanted from the set in the first place. Then I got to give the actual wood box to a friend who really wanted it. All for the price of what the stupid box should've been priced in the first place.

  35. I bit the bullet on the boxset. Worked out at just over £300 getting it imported over with free postage, however, I've not received a bill for import tax as of yet and that has been over a month.

  38. I bought Live Like A Suicide a couple of weeks ago from the Universal owned Sound Of Vinyl website, stripped from the Locked N Loaded box. The parcel arrived today and instead they've sent me the 1986 Sound City Session LP! Fernando was obviously working that day I noticed this happened to someone else on a facebook page and they got their money back and got to keep the record, so hopefully I get the same outcome. It made me think though, does anything ever go smoothly in the GNR world? Maybe on my next order they will send me out an advance copy of the new GNR album

  39. "spaghetti" was the last guns n roses album. "chinese" is no more a guns n roses album than "aint life grand". Just because Axl calls it guns n roses does not mean we should accept the illusion. It's a solo album, and not a very good one at that. There is some very convoluted music on that, it doesnt even sound like guns n roses. Spaghetti sounds more like guns n roses, and that was all covers (the reason being, Izzy was not in the band anymore). Without Izzy to help songwriting, you are deluded to expect anything WORTHY of the guns n roses brand to release ever again. There is

  40. Slash quit Axl's GnR, so I disagree that he has "always" wanted back in the band. He is all about making money, which he has every right to be. Funny thing is, I don't recall seeing anything about a reunion until after he and his ex-wife had spilt. -He wanted a star lead singer for VR instead of Izzy's hope for he and Duff to share lead vocals.: cost them Izzy. -He wanted a bigger piece of the pie for NITL: reportedly took more from Duff's partnership share; probably didn't back up Izzy's attempt to get his old % back.
    1 point
  41. I disagree. Why would he waste his best riffs on Axl's band? The dude has released 1 album of original material since the Illusions in 1991.

  42. As far as Axl's voice is concerned, that NuGuns dvd was better than the NITL selects on YouTube (with the exception of Houston).

  44. I’ve not been impressed with SMKC apart from the odd stand out track (which tends to be really good TBF). I find it to be really generic stuff mainly - and I’m convinced Axl and Duff would raise it a few levels. Likewise - Slash can elevate other songs ala NR and Estranged with the RIGHT solos that the song demands....it’s no coincidence that SMKC seems to miss ‘epics’ and CD didn’t really have straightforward hard rock.....they complimented each other back then. I think/hope they can still do it.
