  1. That is still more or less the NITL setlist. It would have been shit if they ran with it in 'The Next Chapter' European dates. Thankfully they were forced to stop their ludicrous endless touring. Let's just hope they put their downtime to good use.

  3. There's been so many songs on the printed setlists over the years, and in some cases even rehearsed which never came to fruition. It doesn't mean anything until they actually play it in concert, and I'm not convinced this year would've been any different.

  7. That is a pretty sick setlist.. I saw 3 reunion shows and that would be 7 songs I hadn't seen them play yet. Slither, You're Crazy, Hard School, Pretty Tied Up, Shadow, Dead Horse, and Think About You.. Pretty awesome if you ask me.. I am in teh miniroty that think they do good with the setlists anyway. I see (or did) tons of live shows and Guns switch it up more than the majority of bands out there whether people belive it or not. Most of their peers go out and play the EXACT same setlist for entire tours. Then maybe only change a couple songs the next time they go out. The last time I sa

  8. I also think they should hang it up... The reunion was cool for a minute but it was so half assed.. This lineup is just weak.. Fortus, Frank and Melissa just give it a stale vibe.. If Axl was awesome it would be easier to get over the Karaoke band vibe but he isn't.. He sounds like crap and looks like crap. I haven't been a fan of the dude since about 2001 so I am not sure why expected anything better. Wishful thinking I suppose.. He was "good enough" to make it work in 2016 but not anymore. Maybe if the band was better it would be easier to get by his shortcomings.. Get any combination of

  9. Hate to say it, but I wish the band would do one final leg of touring and just disband on a high note. Invite Steven, Matt, Gilby, and Izzy for some shows and call it a day. An album is obviously not coming, and I'd rather Slash have more time devoted to his so efforts. He actually puts out records unlike Axl. Not even hating on Axl anymore, Axl is Axl. He's gonna do his thing, and Slash should be free of it to do his. Hope 2021/2022 is the final farewell.

  11. It's just very hard to imagine a new album being anything but a disappointing patchwork where everything and everyone is thrown together without a vision.

  12. Absolutely this. Oh My God was on the setlist for ages, as if that was EVER going to get played (it's inclusion must have been some sort of joke) so setlists that didn't get played I don't take too seriously really. If you do choose to take this seriously though it tells you two things- 1) the setlist was going to be pretty much the same as the last 4/5 years 2) this absolutely wasn't a tour to promote a y sort of 'new album'. To be playing (broadly) the exact same setlist for 4/5 years is madness, even if you're generous and call it all one tour. You'd think they'd at

  13. I have been listening to this a lot lately and decided there is no way anybody created this individually from hearing a phone recording. You expect me to believe you can take words from rock band, that axl sings, then retune and key them into completely different lyrics to fit a new song, whilst being able to play guitar like buckethead and finck in their exact tone, (not to mention the countless synths, piano, bass, backing vocals, acoustic guitars, rhythm guitars, layered vocals, drums, percussion) and then produce to professional quality standard? Just listen to the song. There must be 30 i

Tool's done some cool shit, but I guess since its not 4/4 you can't fuck with it? @2020_Intensionssince when has music being played on the radio been the only validation required for piece of music to be considered good

  16. The Illusions albums......the massive release date, the supporting tour, the songs (variety of massive hits, cool deep cuts and a mix of styles), are much bigger than what folk remember. Yeah AFD is a behemoth but if he thinks that they are ONLY about that then he is talking utter shite.

  17. Thanks. I'm in the process of getting musicians together. I recorded Clear in a studio but I came out with 5 different versions of it and none of them was what I really wanted. I might post one of those, not sure. I wish @SoundOfAGun wasn't four planets away.😄 Talented fucker that one, would love to work with him.

  18. I was very annoyed that they were touring again this year but that turned into hype when they rehearsed Think About You, Pretty Tied Up and Hardschool with Axl in Mexico, plus So Fine as a Duff solo. They rehearsed not one but four damn new songs with Axl present (first time they did something like this since the reunion started), all of them were GNR songs instead of covers and one of them was a leaked unreleased never played song that basically confirmed that it would be on the next album! That must definitely mean that the new album is coming! However since we can't have nice things on

  23. @Gordon Comstock, Yes I have heard it. Am I talking to the champagne is my favorite one. Overall, I like the sound of this album better than the previous two (more raw, less produced). Having said that, Everybody Wants is their best album so far imo.

  24. 'The new chapter' ONE new original (that wasn't even played) and 3 Illusion songs from 29 years ago, plus the exact same songs from NITL. £100 a standing ticket and £170 golden circle. Having seen the reunion shows twice in london in 17 and at download festival 2018, there is no way that's enough to justify seeing them again. Minimum 4 new unreleased songs and 4 different illusion songs, I have no problem with them playing a core 14/15 hits at every show, but it's the same 25 sadly. They've looked bored since 2018 too.

  25. AFD5 is the only way. Just go out with class. The idea of a Fortus / Melissa / Frank GNR album with a 60 y.o. Axl is just.... how could it possibly be good! I mean if they wanted to do it, if they had something to say, I'd reserve judgement, but... I think Axl/DC might have been Axl's way of settling his legacy with himself. With GNR it feels like Axl just likes to be the boss of a pleasant, benign corporation. They may as a well be selling rotisserie chickens. I just want Slash to crank out as much guitar in the next 10 years as possible, before the 80's start to catch up wi

  27. It's not a secret that the work on the next SMKC record has begun, even Slash himself announced it. I think it's more about the specification on 2021. Due to Covid nobody knows when normality returns. A possible GNR Tour would push a SMKC record back into 2022 easily.

  30. I agree. If they're not going to do another album then just get the other guys together for one last run (and get rid of Frank, Fortus, and Melissa for it). Maybe even invite Tracy, Roberta, Teddy Zig Zag, etc for guest spots. Then Slash can focus on SMKC and regularly put out new music there.

  31. Compared to GNR they are like Buckethead levels productive though, cards on the table lol Keenan himself is very productive though if you look at all the Puscifer, APC, and Tool albums he has released collectively the past 20 years. Ironically with Tool it is like the inverse issue where the singer is the one going "c'mon guys I am ready just send me the files"

  33. The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) I love this film. It was written by a Klansman y’know, the original book. To me though, the Eastwood directed movie is about the inhumanity of war and how it leaves no side innocent. One of my favourite movies and perhaps the best thing Clint Eastwood ever directed.

  39. Scotland as we know it today was formed from four kingdoms: Pictland in the Northeast, Lothian in the Southeast, Strathclyde in the Southwest and Dal Riada in the Northwest. The residents of Dal Riada were Gaelic-speakers who sailed across from Ireland and were called the Scotti by the Romans. Their kingdom was the one that the rest of Scotland unified under... but that was the best part of a millennium ago, so I don't think you could say that most present-day Scots were Irish migrants unless you're pursuing some insanely extremist ethno-nationalist ideal. Centuries later, while Ire

  41. He helped write It's So Easy, The Garden, Yesterdays, Bad Obsession, "Crash Diet" (Which I wish GnR had formally recorded, instead of Asphalt Ballet), Helped develop guitar parts on Don't Cry, and aided in helping develop songs for recording on the Use Your Illusion albums....That's pretty good contribution over all.

  42. I think that, with the exception of the first three years of the Project/Velvet Revolver, Slash did always want back to GnR. And they were always offered money to reunite. In 2005 he made that mystery drunken visit to Axl's house and apologized for what he had said in the press when he was promoting VR (he didn't say if he wrote it in the note he left for Axl or if he told Beta). There was a lot of smoke about a reunion in early 2006, and most likely there was fire, too. Slash wouldn't do it unconditionally, of course. At first, his main condition - based on his public comments, at l

  43. I disagree. Why would he waste his best riffs on Axl's band? The dude has released 1 album of original material since the Illusions in 1991.

  44. But his ideas for SMKC will definitely get released. If they say an album is coming in 2021, it WILL be released in 2021. I'm not sure I'd put my best work into something I thought had little chance of seeing the light of day. I mean, he might well be, but we'll likely never get the chance to find out.

  45. Looking forward to it! No Slash definitely cares about what he records for SMKC; it's not throwaway material. I would take it a step further and say that SMKC is his main creative outlet and he views GnR as his day gig (remember what Matt said in his book?) where he plays the same hits every night. Of course now he's worked on some material for GnR too but I wouldn't say that one is better than the other, they're just different. It's not Todd's fault that there's no new GnR album, he just comes over when Slash calls him. If anything Todd is a great example of how to stay busy a

  48. I’ve not been impressed with SMKC apart from the odd stand out track (which tends to be really good TBF). I find it to be really generic stuff mainly - and I’m convinced Axl and Duff would raise it a few levels. Likewise - Slash can elevate other songs ala NR and Estranged with the RIGHT solos that the song demands....it’s no coincidence that SMKC seems to miss ‘epics’ and CD didn’t really have straightforward hard rock.....they complimented each other back then. I think/hope they can still do it.
