  1. New music was never coming in 2020. A live debut of Hard School was all we were ever going to get and that's only because it leaked.

  2. Nah. Axl's complete inability to release new music is what killed GN'R. The pandemic only put the brand on hold for a bit. They'll get back to going through the motions and overcharging for shows as soon as Covid is over.

  3. That's the same video they posted 4 years ago when they actually played there. They didn't even bother to make a new one

  4. Completely agree. That and Axl doing a bit of promo! To be honest the lack of promo didn't really bother me as I just wanted to hear the music but think it's hard to deny that promo would've shifted more copies.

  5. They just don't know how to use social media, so they post these useless and boring flashbacks. Their social media department is a fucking joke. Yes, I'm talking to you @Fernando.

  6. https://www.facebook.com/gunsnroses/videos/1323034311373996/ (Peru 2016) To be honest, I’m getting sick of these video snippets. I know it’s weird, but… isn’t this kind of flashy footage published in order to create immediate excitement, excitement about something particular, like an upcoming concert or a DVD? I mean, we’ve seen dozens of videos like this, they show us they clearly have tons of similar footage, but what is it for in the end? Don’t they think that teasing fans can only go so far? What’s the point when, at the end of the day, you aren’t able to release even one goddamn n

  7. The band has already self-isolated from releasing new material since 2008 so I would put it under the "you can't kill what was already a zombie" category

  9. So long as there's enough people willing to pay $150 - $200 a pop to hear Axl, Slash (and I guess Duff) rehash Sweet Child O'Mine, the band will never truly be dead. I will say that my waning interest in GNR last year has taken a massive hit this year. I just couldn't care less at this point about a band that seems solely focused on making money, whether they're active or not. I never had any illusions that the reunion was anything other the $$$ back in 2016, but I figured at the time that five years later we'd hear something. With everything going on (people getting sick, dy

  10. GN'R died in the mid 90's NuGuns died when Buckethead left. Since then it's simply been the Axl Rose touring band in one form or another. If the current line-up ever release a record, we can reassess things.

  11. The pandemic sure affects the entire cultural life very very badly, but I don't think it has any effect on GNR's work ethic. Lots of artists kept going, doing living room shows, using YouTube to stay in touch with their fanbase and the world. The Rolling Stones even put out one hell of a great new song that deals with the current social situation (Living In A Ghost Town). If Axl N' The Yesmen were interested in doing something, they would have done something. But who knows? Maybe they're working on new songs behind the scenes? I doubt it. Slash will be touring with Myles, Richard will do gear

  12. To me the NuGuns era (1999-2014) was fun and interesting because I saw Axl as somekind of rebel standing in his own against all the fans and industry pressure to have the classic line up back. At this point, it's fair to say that live shows were pretty boring since 2017, same setlist, just a few "new" songs here and there and nothing else. So Guns N' Roses died to me in 2016 when first leg of the NITLT tour ended and there was not any hint of new music on the horizon. After all Pitman was not wrong when said that the reunion was just a gross cash grab. Covid19, shootings and rio

  15. Pretty sure that the label spent 14 mil at which point they cut Axl off and then Axl spent a bunch more of his own cash.

  18. Totally - sounds cool with all the stuff available. So if you think about all the stuff she does it’s even more remarkable that even she has only just broke the million barrier. As for the GNR site.....you can’t even buy UYI, Lies, Spaghetti or CD on any medium....completely and utterly bizarre you have to go to Amazon etc to get these. I can totally imagine a ‘newbie’ losing the plot trying to find UYI 1 on the website to buy not realising it’s not even there!!!! It does make me wonder if there is something else at play for them to be completely missing - issues with record company?

  19. For me yes. It just doesn't really go anywhere, and the main riff that it's built on is poor. Know among the die hards it's counted as one of the peak songs but it does nothing for me... I nearly put another fan favourite down too, but I in the interests of safety for me and the weak hearted MYGNR members I chose not to😄

  20. Taylor Swift's marketing is A+. Via her own website, she sells multiple merchandise bundle versions of her latest album, autographed CDs and even LPs. Add to that all the retailer-specific special editions and bundles, as well as digital sales. Having a loyal fanbase and rewarding them with the ability to purchase NEW MUSIC along with merch leads to huge numbers. I mean, it's like someone is professionally managing her brand. And yes, I'm aware that I know way too much about about Taylor Swift. I swear it's all thanks to having daughters See: Rose, W. Axl

  21. Yeah they're a band for adults. When I saw them he was wearing a pair of swimming trunks and was painted blue and gold. Their logo is designed to look like a cock and balls. Definitely a band for adults.

  22. I don't have links at the ready, but from my recollection I remember antifa or antifa adjacent type accounts openly making threats of violence and not being kicked off. The right wing guys were getting kicked off, and not even for making threats of violence, but for violating social norms with pollical opinions.

  26. well, you know what to do. I actually envy you. you're able to buy a handmade product like that. I bought mine from a dodgy street seller (still quality though). I love handmade stuff, more and more. like that spade I bought earlier. it's my proud and joy, and my personal fitness attribute. I don't need amphetamines, I have a spade. you're a lucky man, soon. you have animals around you, I have two decorative chickens made of stone in my garden. If I want to see my chickens, I need to go to the neighbours. it seems, you're the left version of me. I believe, you could teach m

  27. My grandpa loved wearing cowboy hats and he was born in Brooklyn. He loved cool belt buckles and those little neckties they wear too. I know he would have loved to come live in Texas but he died before he could do it. He also had a garden when my grandparents owned a home. He loved to grow veggies. He was such a great person.

  28. yeah take a leather one. but respect the animal that gave it to you (I'm sure you would). it'll provide you with comfort, for a lifetime. also, if it rains, it's kind of waterproof. sunshine or rain, it won't matter to your, as you soldier on doing your thing.

  29. Awesome hat! I like that style a lot. I like that yours has that 'lived-in' look going too. Tells a story. I now have 3 cowboy hats. For at least a year I considered getting a leather one. Same shade and largely the same cut as yours, actually. But I worried I couldnt pull off the leather look. So my new hat was the step up from straw, but shy of leather.

  31. I only own one hat, and I used it sunshine or rain. it has accompanied me on concert festivals, on the field of my dad, etc. It still has white paint marks on it from when I built my garden cabin. it provides me protection from the elements, and a feeling of comfort and safety.

  32. there was a piece at the attic of my sister's ex, a piece in my brother's apartment and a piece on my sister's apartment. you don't really know you missed this until you got it back. Now, only thing left is a dossier cupboard that's with my mum. I'll buy her a new one. it belongs to me, it's rightful owner. are you me? when I work in the garden I always wear my cowboy hat too!

  33. A video from a week ago. America Needs Pennsylvania, Bruce Springteen sings. It's not about Canada. It's a Biden campaign video. But it shows farmers and everyone else from Pennsylvania struggling because of the trade dispute with China and broken promises from Trump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJQZ7yG7Tdg

  34. One of the DJs for my local classic rock station was talking about expensive albums and he started with "The most expensive rock album was Guns N' Roses 'Chinese Democracy' at $13 million .." Thought that was cool to hear because for me (being 24 years old) that was the first time I've ever heard a local radio station recognize or mention ChiDem existing.

  35. Yeah the point about school was one I thought recently and was just godsmacked - the amount of life experiences I've had all since this song was actually recorded up until the first time I heard it - passing school exams, moving to uni and getting a degree, first car, losing virginity , first job, seeing many countries of the world etc! Unreal!

  39. Most of CD was effectively finished 20 years ago.....but we had to wait another 8. I don’t actually blame Axl completely for the debacle - there was clearly record company politics at play also. There was that Revolver magazine interview in 2014 where he confirmed CD2 was done as was the remix album....and then the reunion happened. Depending on who you listen to/believe, the new album was done a while back @HollyWoodRose84works in circles where such comments could be made. That’s not to say they have worked on extra stuff since and it’s maybe going to be a bigger release in terms of scop

  44. In my opinion, they kinda had. Illusions have some of Guns' greatest songs, but as albums they are a bit disjointed. They are good albums, but they had the potential to be great albums.
