  1. Nah. Axl's complete inability to release new music is what killed GN'R. The pandemic only put the brand on hold for a bit. They'll get back to going through the motions and overcharging for shows as soon as Covid is over.

  2. Been reading (well listening to the audiobook) of Duff McKagans autobiography and one thing that struck me is that the whole GnR band of brothers thing is a bunch of horseshit. They met in, what, 84, 85, famous by 87 and the minute they got famous and there was something to test the brotherhood aspect (i.e. there was some money involved) they started arguing and having all kindsa issues with each other. And by the 90s they kinda existed seperately, the whole band of brothers stuff was a load of bollocks. Basically as soon as some money was involved and they saw what each other was really li

  3. As an under-30 GNR fan, I got a good ride out of really following the band over the past decade plus. I got Chinese on release, saw a lot of shows, saw them in a small venue once, saw lots of related GNR shows, went to the HOF, got to meet various band members, met fans who remain good friends beyond the band, traveled a few times to see them, and the in 2016 I got to see Slash, Duff, and Axl reunite and experience the great Vegas trip and some killer gigs after. That is probably as good as it's going to get for me, especially without new music Axl is lame, but it is what it is. They're

  4. So long as there's enough people willing to pay $150 - $200 a pop to hear Axl, Slash (and I guess Duff) rehash Sweet Child O'Mine, the band will never truly be dead. I will say that my waning interest in GNR last year has taken a massive hit this year. I just couldn't care less at this point about a band that seems solely focused on making money, whether they're active or not. I never had any illusions that the reunion was anything other the $$$ back in 2016, but I figured at the time that five years later we'd hear something. With everything going on (people getting sick, dy

  5. New music was never coming in 2020. A live debut of Hard School was all we were ever going to get and that's only because it leaked.

  6. I can relate, but look – don’t give up hope. Imagine if you joined the fandom in 2006. Or 2010. Or 2016. The experience would have been completely different. This band truly is unique, can’t be compared to any other interpret, and it seems that nothing is normal about them. They have these lame seasons of just muteness or staleness, but every time one would feel like giving up, something unexpected – or at least way better – happens, and things get back on track again. Same with Axl’s voice: every time we thought “this time he’s completely screwed and it’s over” (2002, 2011–14…), a new period

  7. The pandemic sure affects the entire cultural life very very badly, but I don't think it has any effect on GNR's work ethic. Lots of artists kept going, doing living room shows, using YouTube to stay in touch with their fanbase and the world. The Rolling Stones even put out one hell of a great new song that deals with the current social situation (Living In A Ghost Town). If Axl N' The Yesmen were interested in doing something, they would have done something. But who knows? Maybe they're working on new songs behind the scenes? I doubt it. Slash will be touring with Myles, Richard will do gear

  8. To me the NuGuns era (1999-2014) was fun and interesting because I saw Axl as somekind of rebel standing in his own against all the fans and industry pressure to have the classic line up back. At this point, it's fair to say that live shows were pretty boring since 2017, same setlist, just a few "new" songs here and there and nothing else. So Guns N' Roses died to me in 2016 when first leg of the NITLT tour ended and there was not any hint of new music on the horizon. After all Pitman was not wrong when said that the reunion was just a gross cash grab. Covid19, shootings and rio

  10. All obvious jokes aside - it’s really great to see Slash staying musically active.

  11. But i mean with other bands you actually see some kinda brotherhood, bands like The Beatles, The Clash, The Stones to a point, they actually had some serious bond, looked out for each other, had each others back, Duff goes on a lot about the band of brothers thing but there’s almost no actual evidence of them ever being like that. I mean it was right after Appetite went big that they kinda like...started sniping at each other, over artistic rights (which amounts to money really). They were never even really in the studio together for a concerted period of time ever like all other great bands

  13. I can't relate at all. I have been following them since the early 90's and I am not skeptical or frustrated at all. I want new music as much as the next guy, but if it won't happen I won't lose any sleep over it. It is what it is.

  14. Guns N 'Roses is immortal. So much material exists that you can put things out there for the next 20 years. Live and studio material from all these years The problem is, we fans are not immortal. We are getting older. How many fans died before 2015 and didn't see the Axl Slash Reunion? There will definitely be stuff coming in the future. It's just a question of how many older fans will see it.

  15. COVID was just an excuse. I bet you a pound to a pinch of shit that had this fuckin virus not happened the only thing we would’ve seen was hard school jammed between songs rather then actually performed as a further prick tease. Wankers

  16. GN'R died in the mid 90's NuGuns died when Buckethead left. Since then it's simply been the Axl Rose touring band in one form or another. If the current line-up ever release a record, we can reassess things.

  17. You think the worms are wondering what the fuck is going on? Must be like an earthquake that won't end for them. I agree with my mother. It's more fun to give it to them now then pass it on when you're dead. It will be okay. I only have one major expense, a roof, for the house and that can wait a bit. I got lucky finding Craig. His prices are way better then using named companies. It's good to get all this stuff out of the way.

  18. No. Just absolutely NO. The band did all the damage to itself. If you want to be more specific Axl Rose and his dim wit management. Covid is a convenient excuse, but they will never mention how they ripped the arse off the touring side of their business. It's all going to be "we really wanted to this that it the other but...covid". Don't even entertain this argument. In 2017 had covid hit, we could have this conversation. Gnr spent all their time and effort on touring and now they are sitting on loads of cash but they've spent all their good will, and they've lost a lot of respect

I wish all these other expenses hadn't shown up. I wanted to help the kids get a fence up. Thought I would say that was their wedding gift early. I may have to fall back on I paid for the wedding as my big gift and get them something little.

  22. Yep. Also bullshit is them as homeless people and a gang. Axl once stayed at Slashs families house. And apparently so did David fucking Bowie. Not quite a box down by the ocean is it?

  31. Maybe Axl took all this as a sign to look at his health and physique. Probably not. What killed GN'R were Axl, his lawyers, Team Brazil, Perla, the entire production time of CD and Ashba's incapability to bend or hold notes.

  33. TBF - we don’t know if they have or haven’t been working on stuff. Slash’s recent comments at the Pinball launch confirms he is working on GNR stuff....I have no doubt work IS happening. It’s just the WHEN we will hear it that’s the problem.

  34. COVID didn’t kill GnR. They’ve done that job all on their own. If anything, the lockdown should of given them all the time they need to finish up the new album they were supposed to be working on. The fact that they are not doing anything, is completely ridiculous and probably means there really isn’t anything going on behind all the smoke and mirrors. Most people’s lives have gone to a “new normal” and people are still moving forward. Most struggling business owners are working even harder to find out a way to keep things going. Only these spoiled wealthy celebrities have the ability to

  38. At the latest, it's from '86-87 (the Hell House days), possibly earlier than that. It's not a GNR song - Just Another Sunday, Crash Diet, Bring It Back Home, Too Much Too Fast, Sentimental Movie, etc. are West Arkeen songs that some members of GNR agreed to play on (presumably so Wes could shop the demos around and try to sell the songs) This is the tracklist from the the full demo tape that these songs came from: 01 - Crash Diet (04:52) 02 - The Garden (05:05) 03 - Too Much Too Fast (06:30) 04 - Sunny Lovers Day [DOES NOT CIRCULATE] 05 - Walk On By [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]

  39. Nope. Just another excuse for lack of motivation. It has delayed concerts, but every other band who WANTS to release new music is doing it with ease. New Chili Peppers on the way to now. They could have EASILY released one new song. At this point its simple, you either want to, or dont.

  45. I think it was 98 or 99, there was a Dave GNR site or something. An English dude who had a site similar like this. GNR had been my favourite band since I was a baby since I was brainwashed thankfully by my uncle who was 10yrs older than me and my cousins. I can't believe it, but I lost track of exact years, I remember around 99 or 00, he closed up the site and I msgd or emailed him about why and I think he mentioned mygnr.
