They are doing better IMO. I was sure they'll announce these nearly same the time when WHO declares pandemic being over.4 points

Yeah, a lot of people don't really know what to do with themselves if they don't have a job to go to. Especially now during the pandemic I've seen a lot of people complain about being bored. I don't have that at all. I think I could be under house arrest for a year without getting bored. There's too much out there to read, to watch, to keep myself busy with without getting bored. And imagine being as rich as Axl and being able to go wherever you want and buy whatever you want.3 points

I agree with this to a point. Alot of those bands during their formative year recorded together not only because of a brotherhood but the technology wasnt there to allow them to record at home or in 2 separate studios. Plus when the record companies paying for the studio time, bands obviously respected that, hence writing and recording together. Do you think mccartney wouldnt have said no to recording at home or in another studio if it meant not having to see yoko everyday? By 1970 the band was done, as they started the beatles young and grew to being older men, and just went through3 points

All obvious jokes aside - it’s really great to see Slash staying musically active.3 points

Tinkers with old demos, writes new stuff, throws parties at home, plays GTA 5, feeds his animals, drinks with Baz, chats with Slash on the phone, screws whomever he’s currently dating, watches Trailer Park Boys, searches the web in need of a new keyboard, sits in a pool with a margarita in his hand and a bunch of chicks around, waits for travelling to be ok again... enjoys his money.2 points

Pretty catchy - with obvious RATM vibes. Good contrast of guitar styles - good stuff.2 points

I think it's an alright song, still too much synth-pop for my taste and probably not something I'll end up listening to, but it's less forgettable than some of the songs they have been releasing these past few weeks. And there's some good eye candy in the video : )1 point

I love tinkering with stuff at home. Watering my plants. Reading. Cooking. Practicing guitar. Recording. So long as thats balanced with the outdoors and a bit of socializing, theres no place Id rather be than home. And if I was as rich as Axl is now, I'd hire someone to look after the cat and keep my yogurt cultures fed, when I fly to Japan just for a sushi dinner (Actually I wouldnt because thats ecocidal! But you get the drift lol)1 point

But there are so many other options, you, and a lot of people on here, immediately assume that it's all about the money. Again, maybe I'm just really naive, but I haven't seen enough evidence that money was ever the main motivation. I'm not saying they don't care at all about it, but I don't think that has ever been the motivation. This is where we differ. I really believe that they kept it going for the sake of music and because they had a good thing together musically speaking. As for Stradlin, Mr. Wonderboy who can do no wrong around here, he was more money concerned than what every1 point

I have often wondered this myself as he doesn't go out much, does he, whilst not touring? I used to believe, during the Bucket era, that he was a sort of mad scientist tinkering with overdubs.1 point

Im skeptical about all intersections of art and commerce. And I'm skeptical of all big capitalism. Guns is a great example of why. I see Guns as being a poorly conceived, and even more poorly executed, heist from day one. And Im happy to be a fan1 point

GN'R died in the mid 90's NuGuns died when Buckethead left. Since then it's simply been the Axl Rose touring band in one form or another. If the current line-up ever release a record, we can reassess things.1 point

IT'S DIFFERENT!!! I KNEW IT! This version has a different ending: a double-voice scream , no guitar outro and a very tiny piano coda before the drums finale. There must be other differences, but the ending is undeniably another version. I think this is HUGE: LADIES AND GENTLEMAN: WE FOUND A LOST TRACK. A FOURTH STUDIO OFFICIALLY RELEASED (YET PROMOTIONAL) VERSION OF KNOCKIN ON HEAVENS DOOR FROM 1990.1 point

The Illusions albums......the massive release date, the supporting tour, the songs (variety of massive hits, cool deep cuts and a mix of styles), are much bigger than what folk remember. Yeah AFD is a behemoth but if he thinks that they are ONLY about that then he is talking utter shite.1 point

Beyond that though, there was a lot to enjoy as an AC/DC fan also. The shows were a solid 45 mins longer than your typical AC/DC gig with roughly 6-7 songs more every night than was typical with Brian. The Philly gig in particular is most likely the longest show in AC/DC history. All of the “extra” songs were ones the band hadn’t performed in decades; Riff Raff hadn’t been played since 1978 (Barring the VH1 session in 1996 but that was a studio performance), Live Wire hadn’t been played since 1982, Touch Too Much wasn’t confirmed to have ever been played before. The band returned to original t1 point

Knowing how the Youngs operate, for Angus Axl/DC was simply an expedient, a stop-gap measure. Doubt he'll even release a live dvd of this period. Of course Guns fans value it more as it had ''their'' man's best vocals in decades.1 point
