  1. The band touring in 18 and 19 shouldnt have happened as they looked and sounded tired by this stage. I guess they couldnt say no to the money. The tour should have finished at t he end of the LA 17 dates. Work on new music then retour.

  2. I've stopped watching them. I think I saw the first three selects and figured, if this is the standard they deem good enough to officially put out there, then what in the holy fuck would they deem as a bad show? It's funny how fans always portray Axl as a perfectionist with impossibly high standards when it comes to releasing new music, but put him up on a stage in front of thousands of people and he has absolutely no qualms in delivering uninspired, weak and subpar live shows night after night.

  3. The 16 and 17 shows had some ups and downs but mostly good. When the band started the 18 tour in Europe the wheels started falling off then, and were never consistantly good. Especially berlin. Then we get to late 2019 with big axl, with the fruitbowl haircut that reminded me of elvis's vegas gigs before the end of his life. Hearing the LA 17 shows as the last of the shows was a long setlist, and would have been an excellent way to end the tour and work on a new record beginning 2018.

  4. The real embarrassment is to put out material like this. Who ever does the video and audio editing on these selects, needs to be kicked in the...*insert random bodyparts*... You could, if you care, and put some effort into your job (@Fernando) do sooo much more on live material by doing a proper sound mixing job. Especially if there are month long gaps in between the uploads.

  6. It's actually hilarious how pathetic Axl's clean voice sounds nowadays. Unless he's singing deep notes, he sounds horrific. I don't know what happened between 2002 and now to make Axl's clean voice sound like an old lady gasping for air, but I'd take Axl's 2001/2002 clean voice over modern Axl any day. This tour has thoroughly destroyed the idea that "Axl's voice always gets better as the tour goes on". His voice showed a glimmer of hope in 2016, but has been absolutely toasts since some time in 2017. He's sounded consistently awful for years at this point.

  7. So weird how it’s obviously the in show video board footage, but anytime it’s a close up of Axl they switch to that weird long distance shot of the stage. You can see the Axl close up on the two small video boards, and then they switch to Slash or someone else, and that is the next shot the video switches to.. makes me feel bad that Axl is so insecure about how he looks..

  8. They don't deserve hardcore fans anymore.

  9. Exactly, I don't really care if GNR break up now. I would care if a member died obviously, but I don't really care about them breaking up because as far as I'm concerned they are already semi-retired! they just like to get out of the house and stretch their legs from time to time with touring. 2006/2010/2012 there was energy and yeah Axl was acting the bollix for all of those except fro 2006! but he sounded good and I felt like I got my monies worth! 2017? I saw them twice and I enjoyed them... but I had lots of beer😄 New music or bust.

  10. Some quotes from my girlfriend, who knows nothing much about GNR and is half-watching..... "Why does he do that thing where he sounds like Mickey Mouse?" "Why have they chosen Wichita Lineman to show? Do they play this every night?" "They look very tired." "This is better than that weird one in the Las Vegas casino you had on the other night" "I don't understand this band at all, but they do make me laugh". "Axl seems to have two modes, Mickey Mouse or the Cookie Monster". Watching this stuff with people who aren't invested at all is pretty insightful, and we'll worth a go if you feel your GNR obsession needs a reality check!

  11. I didn't watch Clone Wars in real time, as I felt like it wasn't the real deal and I was in high school and college when it aired. I later watched it after they announced VII-IX and grew to really like it and it's characters. Either way, I don't have the emotional attachment other fans do to Ahsoka even though I now rate her as a great character. That being said, this was one of the best pieces of post-Disney SW content yet. I loved this episode. Ripped off the Western/Samurai aesthetic flawlessly and the lightsaber action was better than the sequels

  14. AC/DC put out a comeback album that went straight to number one. But you're right, this would be a ridiculous time to release new music.

  15. Checked in and almost immediately turned it off after watching the first minute of Estranged. I love this song, one of the best songs ever imo, surely one of the best GNR songs and Axl's absolute masterpiece. But aside from a totally dull performance of all musicians lacking the most important thing this songs needs (= soul) - if THAT SOUND is what they consider presentable they have an even bigger problem with their hearing than Brian Johnson had. There's musicians putting out recordings on a shoestring that sound better than this multi million dollar band that seems to give absolutely no fucks whatsoever anymore. This was the last time I checked their new videos on Youtube with the little excitement and respect I had left. I've cancelled my subscription to their channel today. So glad I saw Axl when he still gave a fuck or two. He should have never agreed to this reunion, it's sucking the soul of of him and his music.

  16. Plus it helps Tyler can sing in his natural singing voice too.

  17. It is very good. It almost puts you in his shoes through the footage, the madness of being Maradona in Napoli, arriving to this media circus and becoming a messiah figure for the Neapolitans etc etc. Things to emerge are - how he changed, his speech and even facial features, once cocaine had taken a hold. He was reasonably well spoken young man hitherto. - Far be it from allowing the decadence to destroy his career (obviously this happened at the very end of his career, a period not covered in this documentary) Maradona went to ridiculous lengths to juggle both. So he'd spend the best part of three-four days detoxing for the Sunday match. And for the 1990 world cup he relinquished the excesses completely. He actually, to a degree, managed both lifestyles. To a degree. - Winning that first Scudetto, 1986-7, was considered the proudest moment of his career, not the 1986 World Cup.

  18. Asia 2017 was already shit. The last few good shows were the ones in Brazil in 2016, and even those were a few steps behind the NA leg. He destroyed his voice with AC/DC, it's as easy as that. He probably didn't rehearse his voice between the 2016 SA leg and the 2017 Asia leg, and that's what really made it worse. There's no coming back unless he goes trough some magical operation like Steven Tyler did. His current state can't be fixed with cardio and a vocal coach, his voice is toasted for good IMO.

  19. So I've seen some bits at work. Let's say that the Houston recording still remains the only really watchable one...

  22. Everyone in the band just sounds bored on this latest selects. Feels like no one really wanted to be there and no one cared about the performance they gave

  23. I can't imagine anyone watching these selects and thinking 'gotta get tickets' Retire the band now, Axl can release (lol) crooning piano based music, he can't sing rock anymore.

  27. I haven't bothered with it yet. Don't know that I will to be honest. Not one performance of Nightrain from 2017-2019 is going to be better than the Coachella soundboard we already have.

  29. Well... sometimes drink is good for writing. The problem with this selects or this band touring is THEY WAS SO FUCKIN GOOD IN THEIR PRIME TIME. And Axl and nobody can make what they made in the 80 y 90. Nothin more. Im still enjoying the UYI tour. Im not a nostalgic or whatever living on the past but just listen, compare and fix it.

  34. Great latest episode. Having not watched any of the animated Star Wars series, I’m not familiar with any of the characters or names mentioned. Any care to shed some more light on them for me?

  35. Well IF thos europe shows go ahead next year starting march, axl has 4 months to train and work on himself and make himself the best version of himself he can be. Mexico early this year was the last date, that makes it 12 months of band inactivity. I hope he has been putting his time to good use.

  38. You can't simpy read this book. You have to study it. I would also recommend to read: Marx: Wage, Labour and Capital (1847) Marx: Critique of the Gotha Programme (1875) Engels: Anti-Dühring (1878)

  39. I made my Wichita Lineman joke too soon (although I suppose it was a given), but it doesn't even matter because this was unlistenable.

  40. I turned it off before Slash kicked in during the intro of Estranged. Axl can't even sing in a low voice anymore. That was trash, and I don't believe it will ever get better. I can't believe that this was worse than Rock In Rio with the damn raincoat. Fucking hell Axl. Edit: it also looks like he cut his own hair.

  41. I'd have to agree. I found it thoroughly dispiriting really, as it looked like a band going through the motions. I won't be watching it again.

  42. Good lesson, Slash should watch it! Robin created such a beautiful solo for this song and Slash could easily play it, but he just doesn't seem to care. Whenever I hear him noodle, improvise and pseudo-shred over this I just wanna slap him in the face. It's a shame we never got to hear it with Robin in concert and Axl might never sing it as good as in 2010 again either.

  43. I don't really give a shit how people perceive GNR management. Trust me, at this point I'm not a fan either and we have cut communications between this forum and management for quite some time due to matters of communication and trust. But I know what I know based on first hand experiences.
