  1. The fact they used Covid as an excuse to not release music, while hundreds of other high-profile artists had no issue with new album releases, virtual concerts and other fan interaction events, tells you just how motivated GNR is to do anything beyond touring the same music for years. It's a depressing time to be a Guns N' Roses fan.

  2. I was thinking how 2020 has impacted on the way I view GNR, and was wondering how others felt. It's obviously been an awful year for most of us. Like many out there I've lost my work and relatives, and there hasn't been too many highlights. I'm sure we all have had similarly shitty years, one way or the other. I know it's sort of ridiculous to place so much on a band....but just one or two pleasant things from the band I feel most passionate about would have gone so far this year. They'd have brought a disproportionate amount of cheer and enjoyment. That the band did nothing (aside from a couple of Selects of course) has definitely hardened my feelings towards them, as I watched so many bands release things, do different things, and generally offer their fans enjoyment. Simple things like Metallica's run of YouTube concerts, that must have just been so much fun for their fans, and brought a bit of light to a gloomy year. The obvious answer is of course 'GNR don't give a fuck about their fans', which many people say here. I've never really felt that, and try not to feel it now, but I suppose 2020 has certainly harmed my feelings towards GNR. Doing SOMETHING would have meant so much. I feel warmer towards those that did make an effort this year to give their fans something to enjoy. I'd argue 2020 has been an incredibly destructive (!!!) year for GNR, in ways that aren't perhaps immediately apparent. What do others feel?

  3. I'm excited for the Kenobi series. I've always thought that there was a story to be told there, and Obi-Wan is my favourite Star Wars character. McGregor is at the right age to play him in that time period, and Christensen is a bonus. Glad he gets to have a second go.

  4. Now I think about it, I also shortly met frank on the streets of paris. The person I was walking around with chitchatted a bit with him but I didn't really know what to say to him and probably didn't care too much. He was there with his daughter and seemed like a sweet fellow. Probably too nice for a rock band like that. Met fernando quickly in Vegas 2016. Very uninspiring conversation. Never cared for him too much but grown to hate him the last cpl years for his behaviour. One of my greatest experience came from meeting beta though. Me and a bunch of other nerds were waiting for Axl in the hotel in Vegas 2016. I flew in from Europe for the show - only had tickets for the opening night. Anyway me and the person I was with stated chatting with beta, who seemed to be pretty nice (unlike her son). We told her that we didn't have a ticket for the 2nd show and if there was a way she could get us in. She started typing something into her phone and then told us to go to the ticket counter and that the tickets would be there waiting for us under her name. If that wasn't even cool as shit - after we went back to the ticket counter, we said we had tickets from beta waiting for us and the person came back with an envelope (at that point I was already freaking out mentally). After we opened it we saw that these were VIP tickets. So we went into the venue and had a spot at the upper left balcony next to the stage. There was a guy opening and closing the door behind us, we had our own bar and hot groupies in the suite. At one point sebastian bach was even in that suite, few minutes later he was on stage singing my Michelle. I also saw jimmy webb there. Didn't know who he was but I knew I saw pictures with him and the band prior to the show. Anyway, I wanted to get backstage but couldn't without someone who had a backstage pass. While the crew etc were cleaning up the venue after the show, I just went backstage. Saw beta and thanked her for the tickets. Saw richard talking some boring stuff about nyc to some guy. Then the stage security guy approached me and asked me what I was doing here. I just stood there and pointed to my gnr badge that said "beta". He asked me to please go to the Aftershow party. Unfortunately nobody from the band was there. Just some wanna be people and jarmo.left the party after maybe 15 mins to get back to the hotel to get my flight back to europe. Was an epic experience for which I will always grateful to beta and hold her somewhat in high regards..unlike her son.

  5. I remembered hearing that Axl/GNR recorded something with either NWA or just Easy-E. I believe it was called yellow brick road to Compton. Would love to hear that.

  6. I just saw the book on Amazon. As far as I can tell it's nothing but the lyrics to the song coupled with some mediocre illustrations that apparently tell some kind of a story about a little girl and her dad(?) I didn't think anybody would like the book because any GNR fan would hate it whereas any non-GNR fan wouldn't have any interest in it. Yet on Amazon it has some glowing reviews (if those are for real). "If you love Guns n' Roses then you'll love the book." To me the idea of using this book to introduce a kid to your GNR fandom seems incredibly phony. This book has nothing to do with the GNR you were a fan of so you'd be lying to your kid. And why would you want to push GNR to a child in the first place?

  7. Do I still want to hear all the chinese democracy unreleased songs and any new material sine 2016? Yes, desperately. Do i hold the band in high regard or any members on a pedestal anymore? No. They're out of touch, they sound like shit live and they don't give a fuck about the fans that made them. We're not asking for friendships, but no new music, no live shows released, no interviews. Just a low IQ brazillian guy trying to cover for Axl being a lazy, past his prime knob. Seeing guns was the most exciting thing in my life for years. Now? fuck em. I think we all knew deep down they weren't great people, but 2020 has just blown off my rose tinted glasses (no pun intended) and now I see them how every single person who isn't a massive gnr fan sees them.

  9. 1000% let's look at the breakdown: Other artists- Started putting on socially distanced shows for their fans and/or charities like Save Our Stages (too many examples to name) Released new albums that were already planned (McCartney, Lady Gaga, Sturgill Simpson, many others) Released one, if not two brand new surprise albums that were recorded with all the downtime (Eminem, Taylor Swift and others) Released YouTube, Facebook or reddit Q&As as well as releasing classic concert footage or films for fans to enjoy while quarantined (Paul Stanley, members of Pink Floyd, The Lone Bellow, Queen, Michael Jackson and others) Guns N' Roses- Barely released (overall) extremely poor / half assed footage from the prior tour while trying to blame the pandemic for the fact that it wasn't done right at all. All the stuff listed under "Other Artists" is just what I could think of odd the top of my head. The stuff listed under "Guns N' Roses" is a complete list of everything they accomplished.

  12. Overall, the faster load times is the biggest difference so far. I don't own any XSX exclusives though. I will say though that I do have a couple of games that have had updates with enhancements for XSX. Destiny 2 is one of them and it looks wayyyyyy better now.

  13. And many bands I like didn't do shit all year, or maybe they've been active, but there has been a radio silence for the most part. And I'm not complaining, it is what it is. We've been facing the worst crisis since the second world war. No time to be selfish, we don't even know if some of them have been affected by all this on a personal level.

  16. I've only been lucky enough to meet Steven Adler and Slash of any era GnR. Slash was at a guitar guitar store opening just outside London in a town called Epsom (famous for horse racing). He didn't allow any pics, but I asked him to sign my appetite Tat. I put my leg up on the table, security came over and pulled my leg down. Slash said 'No it's cool' to the guy, then asked me to put my leg on his lap. So I put my leg on his lap and he signed it below his image. I then went straight to the tattoo artist down the road and he inked it on. Steven I met in 2018 outside the Whiskey, after adlers appetite played. Was a great set, he came out after. He signed my mates cymbal, but said sorry and jumped into the car when I asked him to sign my leg. People say I was unlucky as he's normally cool with that sort of thing but he did seem desperate to get away from the venue. Met vicky hamilton there too. I think I'd only like to meet Axl whilst he's drunk and in a cool bar environment, then he seems really open and friendly. Anywhere else I probably wouldn't approach.

  17. Most of my favourite bands have done even less than GnR this year and there are reasons for that. Think about it.

  18. I refuse to call them a "band", they aren't and they haven't been since this "reunion". What they are to me is a bunch of arrogant wankers with dollar-sign-eyes. Their music may be immortal and always worth talking about in detail, but that's it for me.

  19. All GNR did in 2020 was flog off a bunch of merchandise during the worst economic crisis in nearly a century.

  20. I think COVID really sped up my apathy to GNR that eventually would have occurred anyway if they kept going down the same boring path Before COVID, I was actually kind of stoked to see GNR later this year. Now, I got the refund for the postponed show and barely even care if the show gets scheduled and may pass it up for different musical experiences This would have been a perfect time for even just a new single, both to help music fans have something new to enjoy during a live concert-less pandemic, and to strike while the iron is semi-warm. Their reluctance to do anything remotely productive at a time where we all have nothing but time, is frustrating as all hell

  24. Unheard songs with vocals from 1999-2004. Zodiac and Soul Monster are the most interesting instrumentals so I guess those are the 2 I'd want the most. As far as live stuff, Pantages Theatre 1991 pro-shot and The Joint NYE 2001 pro-shot.

  25. Anyone else find it hilarious (probably by coincidence) that they only recorded the same amount of the song from the soundcheck that was leaked in 2006? Imagine if the village version didn't leak, then people might assume it was a 16 second song. Hahaha

  26. The 2020 soundcheck intro to Hardschool immediately sounds like Guns N' Roses. It has a killer bass open (as far as we can tell by the footage) and some nice new guitar work by Slash. I think Axl's vocals were weak, but it was a soundcheck, so he obviously wasn't trying too hard.

  28. One of my favourite artists, a stoner east coast folkie named Jenn Grant, is presenting a PPV christmas eve variety show from her kitchen. Its the first big splash shes made since the pandemic. Mostly because shes an attentive mother. Also because it seems the muse hand't struck. Im pumped! New Christmas album too. So, If Axl Rose doesnt hop online an bake a chocolate babka, while dueting a Christmas version of "It tastes good, dont it" with the McKagan clan, while Beta shimmies in the background in a Mrs Claus outfit - I will rage quit Guns N Roses.

  29. Hell that even makes GNR look worse lol! Paul during this lockdown recorded an entire album with himself as the producer and playing all the instruments and released it within a few months time - meanwhile Axl since 2016 can't even manage to take the stable lineup he has with proven workhorses in Slash and Duff and release an album or a single song. Not even mentioning the tons of CD era material he could have released as-is anytime up until the reunion too Hell that even makes GNR look worse lol! 30. I'm not surprised. If gnr are not on tour, they say and do nothing, this is just how it's been since forever. The only stuff they were actively doing was trying make sure they can reschedule their tour 2021. The selects while... yeah, we asked for footage!! But we didn't say "just release any old shite". The selects are a great unintentionally honest representation of the band live🤣 As for not releasing new music, or doing a q&a... well, Slash, Duff, Richard and Frank have all done interviews... but I guess we're basically saying Axl has been silent. New record? They should have put it out if it was ready, waiting and waiting will have no benefit. One of gnrs biggest issues is waiting and overthinking everything! Overall though, I feel way more positive about gnr right now, than I have in ages... and that's because I actually don't care anymore (of course I'll listen to what they put out). The way I look at us (forum fans) is, we're the base, then you have everybody else on top. We're the people that buy everything, fly to multiple shows and buy all the crazy expensive merch. The band can't cater to every demand, but doing basically nothing has fragmented that base so in my opinion that should be the first thing they work on in 2021. A non fluff Interview with Axl, Slash, Duff. Firm update on a new record, no BS "we'll see.... seriously looking at it.... we want to" just "it's nearly done, should be ready for the tour". Boom! Everybody is happy.

  31. I was supposed to see GNR in August in concert in Texas, but then the covid hit, so that sucked! Now GNR has no new Texas dates at all. I'm still hoping things will change by next summer. GNR has a huge fan base here in Texas. I don't want to think about if/when GNR comes back to Texas again? I still listen to GNR's albums alot so that hasn't changed.

  33. That's why I used Yela as a comparison - he only released some videos but in the meantime kept his fans updated and hyped for new music. He even included little snippets of new songs in the videos for his older songs. Just little updates on music would've been nice from GNR.

  35. Whats the Christmas Star? Sounds cool! Was your sister on one of the rides in the picture? Your poor mom Axl is the only person to ever look cool in one of those pics! You'll have to keep a camera ready when youre around Karen... pay back time Im glad the teeth are working gout in general. Hope they will be perfect soon. I dont understand why they wont give you your package at the post office? I have to cook and eat all day. Poor me. beef ravioli, spinach/mushroom/ricotta ravioli, marinara, meat loaf, maybe do the scalloped potatoes. For my perspective of winter, it almost sounds like youll just get the last leaf mulch down as ground cover, before you turn around and start your next season! And it kills me!! The only saving grace is that you have to do all that work for such a short amount of time. At least when we winterize, that work lasts for months on end.

  37. When running in the forest I keep my phone in a backpack, in case I get in trouble and need to call for help. It actually happened about two months ago when I strained my calf and couldn't run any more (barely able to limp homewards). It was very cold and I didn't have extra clothes so I called my wife who came and picked me up. But I also have the watch just to pay attention to my pace. I started doing a half marathon every month in addition to running about 14 km every day (7 km to work and back). It was too hard for my body and now I am running 10 km every second day. I also do 2-3 competition runs per year (10 km), so the running I do every week is perfect preparation for that distance. I used to run half marathon competitions, but then you need to run quite a bit more for preparation and it is hard to find the time for that, in addition to the extra strain on my knees. On alternate days I either do some inhouse workout or row. I have had all kinds of injuries. Plantar fascitiis on both sides, which is annoying but you just have to muscle through. I tend to strain my right leg muscle whenever I try to get back into the swing of things after having had some injury. Both knees are bad and I had knee surgery earlier this year, occasionally I need to take a break for the pain to subside. Still, if my knees can keep up I intend to do this for years and years to come. Together with paying attention to what I eat it helps me keep my weight. I also really enjoy the running (always have), especially in the forests where I live. When not overdone it is good for my heart and lungs. And I get to set an example for my kids - that an active life, and exercise, is entirely normal.

  39. In my dream world there would exist a documentary series depicting the making of each album (with a majority of the series showing clips from preproduction/working on songs and recording them in the studio). Six one hour episodes for every album, no censorship, showing it like it really were. The team behind "the last dance" would make for a good producer.

Im so lucky that beaker doesnt use anything as a litter box. Saw the pic, looks messy! Im lucky to have laminate wood flooring in grow room. You could be a youtube star. Remember me when you are? This is cool - cant wait! We can keep one another motivated to workout. See who can do more reps of canned chilli I was thinking of signing up for aqua fit just before the pandemic. Band with Andre... Outkasts? So fresh and so clean Hope that the garden was nice. Im jealous. So much snow here. And enjoy that party! Watch out for flying burritos What a lucky kiddo. Eat something, if not pizza?!?! AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Im dying!!! LOL I wouldn't think it would slide down your pants either!! One and a million shot! hahahahaha.
