  1. Better erase that shit and record a proper GNR record. That's the best case imo.

  2. I remember in 89/90 all the talk was about when is the new album going to be recorded. I also remember being on the Boerio forum in '96 or so and it was basically the same sort of chatter that happens now (eg rather than Frank v Adler, it was Sorum v Adler, oh and when is the next album coming out).... Since then I've seen multiple generations of fans come through, get excited, give up on the band, repeat. The only things that surprise me are : a) how anyone has creative hope for this band as the only creative period for it was with the original 5. (Even though Adler didn't ma

  3. The comments across the board be it social media or articles linking to the videos from this round are absolutely brutal. Even the blind followers seem to have turned. Well done, Fernando.

  4. I posted a few weeks back about GNRs legacy and how it’s not being cared for.....this video (and the choices of much of these Selects) is a perfect example of not thinking/caring about how the band will be perceived. Just a total shitshow and PR disaster really.

  5. GnR deserves to be laughed at & embarrassed by their frontman's abysmal performance put on full display (without even crowd noise to add some cover). Hopefully this tanks any major demand there may been to warrant charging $200+ a ticket for a decent seat ....

  7. I ended up watching it today, and it just makes me more frustrated. I actually think the band sounds really good in most of these, and the mix in this one rocks imo. Its just Axl that ruins it. It makes me want a full show from 2016 that much more. We should have one decent full reunion concert archived on video. We are jaded now, but that was the best year to be a GNR fan in decades. Axl aside, I can tolerate SOYL and Knocking on this release. I actually like Knocking, Fortus sounds killer on it (I even miss his NuGNR intro). SOYL isn't amazing, but it is totally passable for a 2019 GNR

  8. All they had to do was release a well shot, mixed, and mastered version of Detroit, Houston, New Jersey, etc 2016. Just pick one and release it. Axl looked better and sounded better. No brainier. These videos are shockingly bad

  9. For a band that was already struggling to sell tickets before the pandemic, these videos are probably the worst promotion they could've possibly done. They are dangerously close to Motley Crue meme status at this point.

  10. The reunion occurred because the time was right and NuGuns couldn’t sale tickets in the US. Axl was 52 when he first started the idea of a reunion. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to retire and maintain his lifestyle without a reunion. He’s lucky Slash maintained such a prominent spot in pop culture thruout the years. All those things he used to say he hated about Slash were the very things that made the reunion appealing to audiences.

  11. Well put the aside that we're talking about people on the internet, and people on the internet are usually the absolute worst!😄 Can't disagree though, it's like they were putting these videos out purposefully to piss on their reputation. @Fernando You nailed it! Now, when ye start wanting to sell tickets put together a good video of the band, that means watching it before releasing and thinking "As performances go 'is this good' as mixes go 'Is this good" if the answer is no, pick another damn show! I can't remember the exact quote from Rock fuel in regard to GNRs management, but I believe th

  13. So a somewhat local record store posted they had Whitesnake's Lovehunter so I had an impromptu shop and picked up some absolute gems! Whitesnake - Lovehunter Michael Schenker Group - Assault Attack UFO - Lights Out Yes - Going For The One Black Sabbath - Seventh Star Black Sabbath - The Eternal Idol A great way to kick off 2021

  14. Absolutely impossible in my view. If a new record is released (and we all know that a a BIIIIIG damn IF) comprised of older tracks originally performed by Bucket and Robin then I only hope the originals leak at some point

  15. People here NOW praises that band. It’s funny as hell. I remember the whole criticism that surrounded those guys, specially after Rio 3. Except for Buckethead, who had some appreciation from part of the fanbase, the whole band was criticized constantly for their look and sounding different from 87-93 era.

  17. For Slash there isn't really a downside to this. He is getting paid zillions and gets to be the Guns N' Roses guitarist, again. Even though it's a completely different band with Micky Mouse cult management, that title means something for Slash's brand. Plus, he still gets to do the same thing he was doing before with SMKC. Instead of an album every 2 years, it's every 3 or 4 and instead of touring a zillion dates with them, it's a zillion dates for a zillion dollars more with GNR. Axl sounding bad or not, that is a no brainier deal for him. I'm sure he wants to put out a GNR record, but

  19. Lars said something recently that even when MetallicA itself is done....he will never be done with it as he will the be in curator mode to take care of the legacy. Seeing as MetallicA are my other main band - that’s awesome to hear (but in no way surprised either). If only GNR and it’s management could do the same. The online community is doing a better job with this! I just can’t get my head around the ‘perfectionism’ which supposedly stops material from being released but performances such as we have seen in some of these Selects don't tie in with that. I do wonder how much the ‘big 3’

  20. Yep, you can see the video selections metallica have been doing, showing videos across the different years. They care more about their legacy than GNR do. I see no difference in singjng ability and looks between axl and vince meal at this point. Money aside, I sometimes wonder if slash thinks to himself was GNR worth coming back to?.

  22. I'm not sure what you mean by 'if this is the case', everything I said was factual. As for Axl the genuis of GNR, that is the exact thing I've never understood. ? I certainly don't see it. I guess part of it is that he owns the name and the value lies in the name - so people don't want to upset him or lose access to that value, so you end up with a disproportionate amount of platitudes. At the end of the day, Axl has done nothing worthwhile without the other 4 around him. - and clung desperately to the GNR name - all the rest have at least done something under another banner. Now I

  23. Crazy because management are obviously aware of where ticket sales were just before Covid hit. Any logical management would think "Oh shit, we need to make some changes and quick!!". And I'm not saying that Fernando should have pulled Axl by the ear into the studio, that is really beyond his control! What he could have done was, promptly make sure people knew where they stood with refunds (great PR). Then release video of the band at their peak on the NITL tour, show them killing it and the crowds going crazy! SA shows! Get people excited to buy tickets again. Nobody watching these and comment

  25. And this is the thing - we are all fans here and so want the absolute best in the same way we would for our sports teams etc. It’s not fun when supporters of other bands etc lay into GNR......it’s galling to see everyone having a go at this video....but we know that it’s merited (for a number of reasons) and was completely avoidable. All we can hope for now is either a Dodger Blu-Ray release or some other kick-ass 2016 Selects as damage limitation.

  26. An absolute mauling. Widespread derision. I'm surprised that it was this one that has attracted it, but it seems to have been picked up by a few major places for some reason. And......we're back to where we were a few years ago. GNR seen as a laughing stock. Pretty fucking annoying.

  32. Me too, or best case is they re-release CD with a 2-3 disc box set with tracks by the lineup of that era. My best guess is the next album will be comprised of mostly CD-era tracks with some Slash and Duff parts added. I would think they would keep some of the Bucket and Robin stuff, and hopefully all of Brain's drums. Haha

  33. Even his rasp generally sounds like shit... He has no stage presence or charisma left. Even his delivery on songs like Patience and Don't cry just isn't the same.. Those aren't terrible but still meh...

  35. Ah yes. Songs from the HOB show (and the Rio show) were some of the first that I ever downloaded from Napster. It took half and hour per song, and massively increased the phone bill. But it was worth it! At the time I thought that, when CD was going to be released, it would have been a multi-year promotion campaign, with multiple album volumes, loads of videos and B sides, a long world tour and maybe even maybe another spinoff album (in other words, a replay of the UYI era). We all know how that turned out.

  42. I think it must be a well trodden joke about how Moore's stunt double should receive top billing. Watch Casino Royale. It is basically what Goldeneye was for the mid '90s, sleek, sexy, recapturing the essence of the franchise. The last act is also the closest we came to Fleming since OHMSS.

  44. As far as the future is concerned? Yes, I have. I'll always love what Guns N' Roses were. Always love the music. I was never able to see the original or UYI lineups live due to being born in 1986 so when Axl made his comeback at the '02 VMA's I was so fucking excited. We know what followed. I became a member of this board in '03 and supported all the fucked up bullshit over the next 10 years. When the reunion happened, I had renewed interest in the band which had been fading during the Vegas days of the never ending 'Chinese' world tour. After a year of some real solid performan
