  1. Foo Fighters are releasing their 10th studio album on Feb. 5. It was originally slated for 2020 to coincide with their 25th anniversary, but it was delayed due to the pandemic. Dave Grohl had this to say: “So, six or seven months went by, and I’m, like: ‘We make this music for people to hear. We don’t just make it so that we can go hit the road. We write these songs so people can enjoy them and sing along, whether it’s in their kitchen by themselves with a bottle of Crown Royal or in a stadium bouncing around, singing the choruses. So, I was, like, right now, more than ever, people

  3. Slash has already worked on/recorded music for GNR. That's been done for over a year now, I think. I think it was the spring of 2019 when we know he was recording at Axl's. He always said his first priority was music for GNR, so he's been ready with that for a while now.

  5. Releasing a new album gives the band a breathe of fresh air by a marketing stand point too. Casuals get excited with a band they like (even if its 2 o 3 hits) when they see they are trending. The band charts, the band releases singles and new videos, the band does press, they re brand the tour with catchy new names and new tech or whatever. Even social media and spotifys algorithm get excited and recommend the band more, etc. Its important to release new shit even if your a mammoth millionaire band, dont matter if they play 2 new songs on the tour, its still new. (Yes im aware GNR probably won

  6. We already know new music is coming. The boys said they'd been working on it, Duff's wife said so etc. That's not the point. Besides, it would be utterly ridiculous to think that in spite of them having worked on the album and having told us so (Slash etc.), they'd eventually say "it's just not happening" for some reason. No, that's never been the point. The real and only point is: when. So when someone outside the band says "new music is coming", it's not really doing anything for me. I know this much. The only relevant thing would be someone from the band (actual band, not the manage

  10. Only hardcore fans were asking for new music between 2010 and 2018. Since then it’s been hardcore fans AND casual fans. It got incredibly more frequent since 2019. ALL of their posts since then have “we want new music” type of comments as the most liked ones. It’s really noticeable. I’m sure they know that. And it’s obvious that an album won’t be difficult when it comes to label deals now that Slash and Duff are back. At least Axl had the “they won’t accept a new album without Slash” excuse back then. Now it’s even more obvious that the only barrier stopping new music from being rele

  12. Guns could easily play most of a new album. How many hits do they have that they absolutly HAVE to play with their small output? SCOM, Jungle, November Rain, Paradise City. Everything else is optional, imo.

  13. A little advice: Any time you guys bump into this “casual fans won’t wanna hear that / videos cost too much” type of bullshit scheme in your head, just use one particular rule of thumb which goes like this: How the hell have all those heaps and loads of other bands and artists managed then!? There, you’re welcome.

  14. That's a generalization that i don't think is fitting. People dont have to be die hards to be fan of their music and even buy their new albums and enjoy them seeing in a new show. If someone who's a casual already paid 120$ for a show, why would he pay again to see the same shit again?

  15. Casual fans are interested in seeing the hits. Not in new songs that most likely pale in comparison.

  17. I went to see U2 in their last tour, and I'm not that much of a fan....but to be honest I was impressed how LITTLE they played for casuals. There were a few hits in there, but a lot of new stuff, lesser played older stuff etc. They managed to play barely any of the U2 songs I like....but I was absolutely fine with that as it meant the show didn't seem 'by numbers'. Made me wish I was a bigger fan of theirs to be honest!

  18. I'd say, at this stage, a new album is the bare minimum. There's a tendancy (and we're all guilty of it) to consider GNR as far more popular than they are. To most people they're a two-song band from the past that produce t-shirts aimed at people who 'want to acesorize with an iconic rock shirt' and have little to no knowledge of the band. I'm sure people will say 'that's not true my friends all like them....' etc etc, but that's because we're in a bubble. In the circles I travel in, I'm laughed at for liking GNR. The reality is, most people don't regard them at all. The 'two-song'

  20. These people are like Jimmy Fallon – they like to hear themselves talk. The guests are often just brands that sell their show, it’s not really necessary to conduct some proper interview or anything, just a few tidbits or something “controversial” that would make the watch numbers, and that’s it. But as usual, where there’s demand, there’s supply.

  23. Casual, hardcore, whatever at this point! What bugs me is that people have been asking for new music for more than a decade and they are sitting on a bat-shit crazy gold mine. It really doesn't make sense why they did not release anything, other than that "they don't want to". I also agree: they lost the reunion momentum, the only thing that could save it is a full-reunion with Adler and Izzy and an album by all the alumini, other than that I think is already a goner.

  25. The idea that 'there's no point' if you've done something great in the past is insane. Imagine if The Beatles had done that! 'Well, you know, nothing we do is going to be as good as Revolver, so let's never release anything ever again'! 'Ah, you know, I made The Godfather, and everyone loved that, so there's no point making another film!' It's an excuse only ever applied to GNR- there's no other band it could be used on. Any other band acknowledges they have a 'classic album' or two in their back catalogue that will never be matched in terms of popularity or cultural reference (and

  33. Look at Richards face when the subject comes up, I don't think we're seeing anything this year. Would love to be wrong but fuck, we've been saying "maybe this year" since 2011, I think it's fair to say 'boy who cried wolf', because for all those years there's reports of GNR being in the studio making a new album, or having a new album done! ...I guess we'll see what happens, but I can't imagine there was a plan to have a new album for the 2020 summer tour, and I see no change in that (Slash basically said as much). But they are very secretive! so they get peoples hopes up, and then 10yrs later

  36. I'm guessing GN'R and their management are thinking the tour will be a cash cow again once Covid is over. It'll be quite the opposite, actually. Massive amounts of people aren't going to be in a hurry to be in stadium crowds. If and when people go to shows, they're REALLY going to have to want to see the show in question. The pathetic and sad pre Covid ticket sales already proved this cash grab nostalgia tour had already ran its course. Coming out of Covid, there's going to be even less interest in it. Oh and this is your (apparently much needed reminder) that there is no suc

  41. How much travelling in vans and sleeping on floors has Fortus actually done? As far as I can tell, his three main gigs have been Rhianna, Enrique Ingelias and Guns. Can't see him hunkering down on a tour bus with Axl or RiRi somehow. Enrique may enjoy it though. Fortus really does talk a lot of shit.

  47. Hey guys, rarely post here but infrequently read posts. I agree with a lot of the frustrations so thought I'd chuck in my twopence worth! I think GNR is a little bit irrelevant these days. The reunion had high hopes, and I even saw them in NYC, flying over from Glasgow, which was awesome. But listening to the recent NITL video clips, they are not very good at all. There's no getting away from the fact that Axl has let himself go something hellish the past few years and Slash just seems keen to solo his way through a show. The lack of new material is astonishing, and 15 years minimum between a

  48. Pre-production: You write a song, arrange and practise it. (If you count songwriting as part of pre-production) Then you choose the gear and settings to shape the desired sound, perhaps with an eye on the acoustics of the room it's supposed to be recorded in. Then you check the lines and levels or make an appointment with an assistant to do that for you in a studio or other recording environment. That's basically it. Production: Now you record the instruments, either along with the vocals or as most prefer in the studio you do vocals after. Post production: After that you might exper

I watched The Incredible Hulk series with Bixby/Ferrigno in my youth and currently rewatching them all. I feel that despite the Hulk outs looking a bit dated among some other minor bit, Bixby’s portrayal of Banner makes it timeless and is some of the best acting I have seen. What’s the general consensus on it among you all that know your stuff? A few debates with a friend who has no fond memory of it at all because there
