  1. https://12sunsets.getty.edu This is a cool site to play around with. I know a lot here are interested in or have visited the strip due to the connection to GNR. There's an article here about how it came about https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/museums/ed-ruscha-sunset-strip-getty/2021/01/07/5c14e6ba-4f89-11eb-bda4-615aaefd0555_story.html The article is paywalled but below is a couple of excerpts. I didnt even try to get tickets for any of the US shows bc I dont believe they are going to happen. it took forever to get Ticketmaster to refund me last year, all the while I had to pay interest to my credit card company bc I had a balance on my credit card. things haven't got any better for me financially so I'm not going to waste any more money on credit card interest. perhaps there are others in the boat as well which may contribute to the poor sales the reality is the US wont acive herd immunity until about 75 percent of the population had been vaccinated. so that's over

  3. Very very briefly yeah at the end. Says Duff said 'fuck Izzy' and that Frank can't play. Not sure whether I believe it at all though, as there's an awful lot of "I'm great and anyone and everyone has screwed me over" throughout.

  4. I don’t know why people say this. GNR has like 6 hit songs. Songs that actually charted well. People come to hear great music and see Axl/Slash, probably more Slash at this point. I don’t care what anybody says Axl is looking stranger every tour, which maybe wouldn’t be too bad if Duff and Fortus both weren’t standing right next to him in excellent health.

  5. I actually thought the internet was great in the early years, in the last 10 years however it seems it has deteriorated, obviously in reality the internet and all it provides is amazing, but the ugly side of the internet which is really the ugly side of humans (case and point the US capital last week) has grown substantially over the last decade and it seems the internet is now 1 giant trash can, I definitely did not agree with Axl when he said that 20 years ago (damn time flies)

  6. Yep it's true madness. What's sad is, the GnR fanbase are not only one of the most mistreated, they're probably one of the least demanding. Yet TB and Axl have made the fans feel like they ask for too much, simply for asking for a music video to accompany a single. A meet and greet at a gig. A new album more often than once in 30 years. And some fans even have stockholm syndrome, they think GnR don't need to release new music, or videos or do anything that any other band does, simply because 34 years ago they released a great album. No fan base is more suffering, and sadly this has warped some

  7. The idea that 'there's no point' if you've done something great in the past is insane. Imagine if The Beatles had done that! 'Well, you know, nothing we do is going to be as good as Revolver, so let's never release anything ever again'! 'Ah, you know, I made The Godfather, and everyone loved that, so there's no point making another film!' It's an excuse only ever applied to GNR- there's no other band it could be used on. Any other band acknowledges they have a 'classic album' or two in their back catalogue that will never be matched in terms of popularity or cultural reference (and

  8. Foo Fighters are releasing their 10th studio album on Feb. 5. It was originally slated for 2020 to coincide with their 25th anniversary, but it was delayed due to the pandemic. Dave Grohl had this to say: “So, six or seven months went by, and I’m, like: ‘We make this music for people to hear. We don’t just make it so that we can go hit the road. We write these songs so people can enjoy them and sing along, whether it’s in their kitchen by themselves with a bottle of Crown Royal or in a stadium bouncing around, singing the choruses. So, I was, like, right now, more than ever, people

  10. Sigh - I'm interested in club membership, but money's too tight to justify it right now. Anyway, thanks for the insight. I figured it wasn't site related, but wanted to be sure. I'll look through my chrome settings.

  13. It's shite. Unless you want to hear stories about how successful he was with women, (which are so frequent and tiresome that, like the bore in the pub, you do wonder if he's ever actually spoken to a woman) it's really not worth your time.

  14. That's not strictly true. Steven Adler was more than capable as a musician to grasp Axl's musical shift (although arguably less capable than Matt Sorum). The only reason the band begun to cut him out, as they have admitted, is because he was getting increasingly fucked up and unreliable, and Slash and Duff had a cliquey drugs & booze compatibility that Adler didn't share - both of them being high functioning wasters, unlike him. As for Izzy not being able to hang with mid-90's GNR, he actually (secretly) rejoined for a couple of weeks in 1995 and spent a lot of time writing with Duff. I ag

  15. I have one of those. They only sold them on the European 2012 tour, which had some other 'unique' merch like black and white posters of Axl. They might be somewhat rare now but probably not very valuable... maybe worth like $20? I don't really know...

  20. Statement from the band about Noah being fired: As many of you know, we let our singer, Noah, go. We were really close to him and it is the last thing we would’ve ever wanted to do, but it had to be done for his safety, as well as the longevity of the band. This decision was made by the band because it was the last thing we could do to keep going. Noah was not writing lyrics or lifting his weight in the band for two months before we let him go. He was heading down a dark path of drug use that got in the way of our friendship as well as the band. Lastly, there were many instances of blow-u

  22. Happy new year, my good sir! Yeah, I picked the one up from Discogs last May, I got it for £170 which is over the odds, but it was the last of the promo singles I needed (excluding the multiple Chinese ones, I’ll take a pic when I get OMG framed, though I’ve had that about 7 months and just never gotten round to it 😂😂😂) For anyone thinking that I’m a fucking mentalist, they are kept in a room where I keep my guitars and piano so it fits the vibe.

  23. maybe Axl kept second guessing himself without Slash, trying to prove he could do it on his own cause we know Chinese was ready in 1999. What I'm saying is I believe they can complete it and there would be no reason to delay it if Axl thinks it's good enough. With Slash and Duff back in the band, the material should naturally sound more like classic Gn'R, so that could potentially give Axl more artistic confidence. and they were on a long tour for 4 years. Axl does one or the other it seems, not both at the same time. so many excuses. I can do this all day. Seriously though, I unders

  27. It is indeed a huge missed opportunity with how they're doing Nintendo Online and the lack of Virtual Console. I also really want a Metroid Prime Trilogy Remaster, Ocarina 3D/Majora 3D Remaster, Goldeneye Remaster etc etc etc. There's a lot of guaranteed success to be had. I regret selling my Switch once the new version finally comes out I'll be in videogame bliss.

  28. I can't argue with a lot of what you said. There are definitely the November rain / Sweet child women who couldn't give a toss about any other song and when the songs get played they push right up as close they can get through the crowd, and when the songs finish they retreat to get more over-priced white wine from the bar. As for Axl, you are right! but most people forget that he's let himself go! they don't think about him that often and when they do they are probably watching old clips form the 90s or maybe even AFDemocracy (long shot)... where he looks somewhat better than he does to

  33. Only hardcore fans were asking for new music between 2010 and 2018. Since then it’s been hardcore fans AND casual fans. It got incredibly more frequent since 2019. ALL of their posts since then have “we want new music” type of comments as the most liked ones. It’s really noticeable. I’m sure they know that. And it’s obvious that an album won’t be difficult when it comes to label deals now that Slash and Duff are back. At least Axl had the “they won’t accept a new album without Slash” excuse back then. Now it’s even more obvious that the only barrier stopping new music from being rele

  34. Even though the Nintendo 64 was vastly outsold and overshadowed by the Playstation, I think it's a testament to the staying power of the console that people in 2020/2021 are still talking about the influence of Mario 64, Zelda OOT, and GoldenEye. Each of those paved the way for future games in their respective genres, and each had a fanbase that transcended the franchise fandom. By that I mean people who aren't even Zelda fans adored Ocarina's gameplay, people who have never seen a Bond film remember playing GoldenEye multiplayer for hours on end, and people who haven't cared for the more rece

  35. I think most casual fans kind of assumed there would be new music by 2017-18... almost all the comments on their social media pages now have tons of people asking about new music, and that sure as shit isn't just made up of die hard fans. SOYL got some decent radio play for a few weeks after it was released, there is/was some general interest in "new" music. Their biggest problem now is that they've waited too long to release anything, so instead of riding the momentum they had early in the reunion they now have to rebuild that hype/momentum. (And literally nobody expects them to release anoth

  36. Slash has already worked on/recorded music for GNR. That's been done for over a year now, I think. I think it was the spring of 2019 when we know he was recording at Axl's. He always said his first priority was music for GNR, so he's been ready with that for a while now.

  37. I think Noah is talented. Cool voice and melodies. He should just forget about those other guys and find better musicians to form his own band. It's a shame it seems more than one individual in this band has a drug problem.

  38. Okay so I love my Switch after a couple of months getting back into it but Nintendo can eat a sack of dicks with game prices. Bayonetta 2 is £40. That's €45 or $55 for a 2014 game. I LOVE Nintendo games but this is why I'm glad that I'm not restricted to their consoles. I do most of my gaming on PC these days and though it's an arse ache to drop hundreds on a new graphics card every now and then it's also awesome that I can pick up AAA games for pennies on Steam or even cheaper elsewhere. In context the latest Mortal Kombat is literally a tenner if you know where to look eh @Oldest Goat?

  46. I gave it 5-6 spins, and I still thought it was average. The only songs that Really stood out to me were Demon Fire, and Shot in the Dark. The rest sounds like recycled, lesser versions of older songs. I really tried listening to hear what everyone else seems to love about it, but it just sounds pretty bland to me.

Today on the Talk they showed a reporter from CNN crying after visiting 10 different hospitals in LA. She just couldn't take it anymore. Seeing the families of patients who have died and how it effects everyone involved. Even with a vaccine, still so many people are sick and dying. This virus doesn't seem to be slowing down and if it keeps changing how will we continue to deal with it? Well I
