  1. People need to stop worrying about Frank’s drumming and worrying about Axl’s singing. No matter how good or bad Frank plays, it means nothing if Axl is singing like crap

  3. I don't know if it has been posted before but in a recent interview, Angus Young confirmed that Axl and him haven't written anything for AC DC... Axl seems too busy... This is what he said : "Nothing really came out solid," Young said. "I know that he has a lot of things he’s involved in. I don’t even know if you would say it was music. But he had a lot of things that he was involved in." Asked directly if they wrote any tracks, he added, "No, no. That never happened." ttps://ultimateclassicrock.com/angus-young-axl-rose/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium

  4. Frank is fine. It's the singer who needs work. All the same I don't think Slash or Duff were about to come back into the picture and tell Axl to start firing his guys. They clearly discussed some things with Frank (ie. He no longer plays the Brian variant of the Mr. Brownstone intro), but otherwise it seems like they made it work fine and the bonus was Duff had already been back in the fold playing with Richard and Frank. Speaking of Brownstone, I think it's funny how much shit Frank got for "playing it wrong" between 2006 and 2014 when all he was doing it was playing it the way Brai

  5. I'm sure I'll catch some heat for this but here we go: I still don't get the Frank hate. I mean for nostalgic purposes I totally get, my self included, why someone would prefer Adler or Matt but stating that Frank is a bad drummer is just ignorant and stupid in my opinion. There's no question that he plays the songs a bit different than previous drummers but so did Matt when he joined. I also get that some people may not like his style but I sometimes wonder how much of that is down to his actual drumming or the fact that he isn't named Steven Adler or Matt Sorum. Do I regard him as

  6. In a nutshell I think Frank is Axl's boy. I think that his position is ensured by his loyalty to Axl and not his abilities. I feel Axl also wanted to keep Frank as a nod to the previous line-up thus trying to assure that the whole "new GN'R" era wouldn't be completely lost or forgotten. Axl is extremely loyal to people who are loyal to him so as long as Frank doesn't do anything to piss him off he's guaranteed to remain in his position. Even at the expense of quality. Axl has reasons to keep Frank but they don't necessary have anything to do with his drumming ability. That's the way I see

  10. They'll still have fans throwing money at them, unfortunately. There's a new thread every week with people still somehow celebrating bullshit merch. As long as people are throwing money at GN'R for useless shit instead of new music, it doesn't really matter what the useless shit is: tour or merch.

  11. This is another "Vote With Your Wallet" situation. As long as people keep giving them money for shit like this, they have absolutely no incentive to ever release new music.

  12. The thing is, by this point, not even Izzy or Adler could save the legacy, the band / reunion lost its momentum and a full reunion would be only for the classic era die hard fans, which maybe represent 40-50% of all the major foruns put together! If also put together in real life we would not even fill a small stadium, let alone have a drive for another leg of a full world tour. Maybe in south america.

  13. This isn't official obviously but Meegan was going through old photos on her Instagram story the other day and she mentioned that she doesn't think touring will resume this year. I have to agree with her. It just doesn't make sense. I won't be surprised if more artists cancel their tours in the coming months.

  14. London, Niko and Noah went on Instagram Live to clear the air. Noah announced he has Bipolar Disorder and will be seeing a therapist and he will also be going to AA meetings. But he won't be rejoining the band. I'm happy he's getting help because it's sad to see the youth go out like that.

  15. I don’t like Frank at all, but a lot of criticism directed at him over the past years is completely unfair. People blaming him about tempo and playing “too fast” shows they know nothing about music.

  16. Izzy wasn't GNR, he was one member of GNR and he helped write / wrote a lot of songs. If Izzy was GNR then his solo material would be far more well known. If we're going to talk about single members of the band as 'GNR' then the only point that stands up is brand value and that's Axl or Slash, preferably both together. Most people on the street with GNR t-shirts don't know who wrote the verse riff to this song or that song, they barely know any member outside of the singer and lead guitarist. Izzy was clearly important to GNR though, but let's not overplay things! If he was still in

  17. Izzy was GNR, he left on his own terms and then came Gilby, who was a great fit in every aspect, THEN onwards band became an akward comedy of apperance with numerous characters who were rather bizzare and in most cases had 0 rock n roll presence. Basically a revolving door of people not even Axl would be able to remember in 2021

  19. At this point I’d say just forget about the NITL dvd (or anything else related to NITL, really) and just focus on the UYI anniversary stuff. I’d also say focus on new music, but that’s not gonna happen anyways.

  21. Complaining about the drummer in GNR when you have a singer as shocking as Axl circa 2017-2020 is akin to complaining about Anne Frank's role in Nazi Germany when you have Hitler in the same room.

  23. Some aspects of his drumming used to bother me a lot more, but I've accepted it for a while now. And yea, he's clearly not a bad drummer... but he's not really the right style of drummer, either. I think he's mentioned before about trying to fuse the styles of Steven, Matt and Brain, and it doesn't really work IMO.

  24. That might've been the case with some people who became fans again the in NITL era, but Frank has been criticized since literally day one. As soon as he replaced Brain in 2006 people noticed how much of a downgrade he was... and like Bumblefoot, he got some praise for getting better on the '09/10 tour, but the criticism was fairly constant since 2006 and only intensified since 2016.

  25. I've completed it, but I feel it's one of those "one time playthrough" kind of games. it's puzzle based, and therefore a second playthrough kinda misses the point of the game. the action itself I found less than satisfying. miyamoto is known for not being a fan of "shooting games", he looks to other ways to play games. personally, I'm more of a shooter guy, and that's why I prefer something like robocop 3 (snes) over super metroid. it's also a game (metroid) that you can't leave behind for a couple of weeks, and step back into. it's too much of a maze. especially metroid prime,

  30. It’s awesome when they release shows you were at. The live in Nashville one that came out a couple years ago was it for me. I’m even in one of the 8x10s that came with it. As for this one, I’m passing as of now because without the connection of being there, it’s pretty similar to the bonnaroo vault which is amazing. Who knows? Maybe I’ll change my mind.

  32. Duff I really couldn't say... But Slash, the guy who auditioned for Poison? The Guy who hired the guitar player from Jellyfish to lead his solo band? The guy who called the singer for Pussycat Dolls to sing in his solo record? Yeah... Right

  40. Sadly the Selects are the most interesting thing about this band at the moment, even though most of them were pretty average still it’s interesting from which show the next selects will be and which songs will be included apart from that we only have new merch and interviews without any new information

  41. Bumblefoot may or may not have been socially-reluctant within the band, but for years, he was the most amiable member towards fans. He was always willing to chat with people on or offline, and he was a great musician to boot. Fuck whoever has shit to say about him.

  42. A rare treat for Buckethead fans who enjoy his collaborations with Travis Dickerson; because of a song being missing from the digital download of the debut Thanatopsis album, Travis has made the album a free download for an indefinite period of time. An essential listen, Thanatopsis is by far by favorite Buckethead side project and Travis is an awesome collaborator. https://travisdickerson.bandcamp.com/album/thanatopsis

  45. I was playing Rock Band 4 yesterday, which of course had CHINESE DEMOCRACY as downloadable content. That was a huge get too. Rock Band 2 with the world premiere of Shacklers Revenge. They sold lots of that DLC too, it was a big deal and sat top of the Microsoft Store for two weeks. So much wasted potential. Far too much. They hooked a whole new generation in with it and really just shit the bed by not following up with more for gamers. I think it was partly due to the lawsuits between the band at the time, but they really did have something there. Oh and I’m still too 100 at v
