  1. How to know something is real - Axl sounds like shit.

  3. Slash knew what he was getting in to. As did Duff. IMO, Slash played the PR game by talking about new music. I'm sure he would jump at the chance to release music with Guns, but I have absolutely no doubt he isn't tied to exclusivity contract in Guns because he knew full well that the chances of releasing new music was slim to none. Slash & Duff are in the band/business predominantly for the money and a swan song. There's nothing wrong with that. But that's the deal. New music will be an added bonus. I would bet my right nut that the contract they agreed to states nothing about new mu

  4. 20 years ago... Rock in Rio 3, the day I met Axl, and I will never forget it. Perhaps one of the best moments in my life, and I would be able to write a novel about it, but some things are better just in our memories, I guess. On the other hand, it's been exactly 20 years, and there is not a single day that I won't think about it. Some people may say I should let go, but it kind of changed my life, in terms of how to believe in myself. So for once, let me try this: Rio de Janeiro, January 13 2001 - Intercontinental Hotel My room wasn't ready when I checked in, and I had to han

  5. I've been away from GNR for quite some time but I just listened back to Axl/DC and also Rock the Rock. Just wanted to tell you guys how much I hate this band. Axl sounds amazing on both. The reunion happened 5 years ago and we still have no album, not even a song. Yeah they soundchecked Hard School but I'm not buying the "waiting until Covid is over" argument. Axl will be 60 soon and he could be the highest riding old school singer in terms of public reception, up there with Brian Johnson and Mick Jagger. But he just doesn't do shit. It makes me really mad. Sorry for the rant, it's j

  6. It's also a LOT cheaper than putting them to death interestingly. Check out the cost of executing a prisoner in the US vs keeping them in jail for life. With all the appeals and legal avenues that have to be exhausted in most cases before you can execute somebody it's pricier than life in prison. Here's Ian Hislop making (it's a good thing she's) Priti (cos she's not very bright) Patel look like the dumbass she is.

  7. Has there been any cases say in the last 20 years where after execution it's been shown that the person was either innocent or that new evidence since has shown that their guilt was questionable? If the answer is yes to either of those the death penalty has to be scrapped and the state is no better than a murderer. Its as simple as that.

  10. Also, do not forget, "Freedom of Speech" only goes so far. For example, yelling "Fire" in a crowded movie theater (when there is no fire) will still get you arrested. Inciting a riot or inciting an all out rebellion are likely not protected under "Freedom of Speech".

  11. They still have the right to believe and say what they like. But they can't expect to be allowed to say whatever they like everywhere. Freedom to speech has never been total in that sense. And as a private company, Twitter is free to kick out anyone they want. Don't confuse this with their freedom to speech being violated.

  12. Absolutely. I'll be honest and say that while I get some of the moves in the past week, I'm still totally puzzled by the fact that so many people celebrating what happened. Essentially what happened is that the biggest tech giants all decided to just shut down anyone they didn't agree with. I happen to disagree with the greater majority of things conservatives believe BUT that doesn't mean that they don't have the right to believe and/or say what they believe. I think a lot of people are being VERY short sighted about this grand and sweeping round of censorship simple b

  13. As with much of the US justice system, the death penalty is inherently racist. The people campaigning to end the death penalty are usually the families of those on death row. People who end up in this situation aren't privileged. Until the US state guarantees that a black man can have the same chance at life as a white man, they should stop killing the ones who fall through the cracks.

  16. Another evidence to me that Matt is full of shit about his bashing stories in his book is the Snakepit part. Didn't he say he asked Slash to erase all his parts after Slash choosed Eric Dover as lead singer for "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" without asking Matt or something like that? Why is he part of the music video to Beggars and Hangers-on then? Because he's full of shit, that's why!

  18. I know. I've been around long enough, I know how are the highs and lows. The thing is that I don't care about Fernando, but there are fans obsessed in bringing him up at every single discussion. It's annoying. I still have a lot of interest in the band, I've been learning on the guitar and recording every Chinese Democracy and AFD songs, the music is still very much a part of my life. It's been that way forever now. Everybody has a reason (or several) to complain, me included. I just don't like to read about every single shit stunt the management team pulls off. It's the band/Axl

  19. As I am disappointed with the band, I just didn't bother to actually follow the (lack of) news. But it's been really a downer to come in some other place and only see posts about Fernando, Beta and Axl being fat. Here it's actually better in this way, so there's that.

  23. Just as an update on this, I cleaned Poseiden a few times and although not perfect it is just about acceptable. Sparks in the Dark was still appalling after cleaning so after sending 3 emails to the Pikes email address (even offering to cover the postage myself) finally, after 5 weeks, I got a response this week and they are sending me a replacement free of charge. So they may be (very!) slow, but they came good in the end. I'm really chuffed.

  24. Truly phenomenal. As you say in the video, Elvis still had some great moments throughout the 70's and in a live setting, there wasn't many who could top him. I was surprised at the price if I'm honest, normally I anticipate the worst in terms of price with the great records you have, but I was more than happy to part with such a small fee for a great sounding record. Ha, I appreciate it my friend. I'll be sure to tell everyone in here about it if and when it does arrive!! The channel is coming along nicely, I can't remember when I seen it, but the interview premiere with Taj Jackson

  25. I just finished this record. Phenomenal show, I may pick up the Aloha boxset in the next week or two, I'd love to have that on vinyl. I'm now making my way through Bang Bang, You're Terry Reid. That also arrived today! I don't want to tempt fate, but should all go swimmingly, I may have picked up one of my most sought after records. Just need confirmation that the seller has shipped it and I'll have peace of mind. I sent an email asking about the general condition, but after a bit of digging, I don't think he speaks English. 26. Do you have an example of a social media platform censoring someone because they advocate for less immigration? Again, what I'm having a hard time understanding is where this concern about big tech censorship is coming from. I just don't see it. Facebook is dominated by conservative commentators. You or anyone else can still post conservative view points on Twitter. AWS didn't boot Parler off their services because it hosts strong conservative opinions. In its legal response, it illustrated numerous examples of Parler failing to curb calls for violence against politicians. This has

  31. Yea, they're still my favourite band even though they're frustrating as hell. I don't notice the Fernando stuff in every thread, but when he chooses to communicate with fans through reddit and discord in his usual unprofessional style, it's understandable that he'd be criticized... but the Fernando hate and fat jokes and other stuff is common enough at this point that I either scroll past it or get a little chuckle out of it. I don't take it seriously, though.

  33. I find it surprising all of those people with the band were so willing to speak to a random fan and let you close to them / Axl.. I would expect them to try to keep fans away from the band apart from a few autograph signing opportunities. Maybe they were less concerned with keeping people away from the band since 2001 was a time they were relatively out of the spotlight and there was less hype around them. I think Axl was probably still conscious of being wary of potentially crazy fans though, hence he was keeping an eye on anyone who got within a certain distance. I know a lot of people compl

  35. fuck that. That woman carved open another human being and tried to steal her baby, she deserves what she got. People need to take care of their own mental health somehow, but such barbarous acts should be punished with more than just locking them up. they don't deserve the money spend on them.

  36. Regarding the earlier discussion on songs that the band has to play, I don't feel like that's ever the case with a band unless their only choice is playing to nostalgia without any new content to support them. I think of artists like David Bowie who after releasing a new album would dedicate the entire setlist to promoting the album and the "era" surrounding it, leaving the old material behind to the disappointment of some fans. A good example of him doing that was when Heathen was released, and he basically played the album cover to cover. When Axl said he wanted to "bury Appetite" wit

  39. In the case of Frank - I think most people just parrot everything back to each other. There was someone who started it, and armies of idiots followed to say exactly the same stuff about him. Cheap talk, patter and jive. How many have actually studied his playing or his contributions to CD? I don't like his style personally, but the hate is absolutely ridiculous and over the top. I really hate this mindset that there is some kind of an "objective" reality or opinion in music. It all comes down to taste. You can scream "Adler" or "Sorum" a thousand times, if someone prefers Frank or
