  1. Axls gardener played guitar on Look At Your Game Girl“ from TSI, so it’s just as legitimate to talk about him.

  2. Agree we are racing against the clock on our rock bands. Your Biden comment is completely off the mark. Yikes! Thank God we have a chance to go back to normal (or something closer to it) and the unqualified buffoons, conspiracy theorists, and dangerous sycophants are banished from the levers of power. The Biden administration’s intention on taking the pandemic seriously, implement a coordinated COVID mitigation plan, invoke defense production act to accelerate vaccine production, mask mandates, etc at least have a chance of ending this dreadful pandemic sooner than the status quo. “Lik

  3. I get why some people here are wondering why there's a discussion on Axls ex-girlfriends son that had zero to do with Axl or gnr. I get Stephanie's significance to the UYI videos and some lyrics on CD, and of course losing a child is obviously terrible. I get the empathy, but I also agree that this is kinda in the 'gossip column'. It definitely has no place on the main discussion page IMO. Not a huge deal is poor wording. It's not huge news in relation to gnr, this is definitely in the realm of news that only obsessive fans talk about / care.

  5. Removed a few posts and locking this as it was bound to go off topic. I understand why the OP posted it but the subject of Harry Brant is only very tenuously connected to GNR. Condolences to his family.

  6. They had so many chances if you really think about it. If they released it anywhere between 2000 and 2002 they would have avoided the whole "most expensive album never made" and all the other jokes regarding the delay. I don't remember the details but I was browsing the Billboard data some time ago and I was stunned how many albums GN'R were still selling in 1996, 1997, 1998. Like a lot. And they were even more popular in Europe. A new album in 2000 had potential to be huge because the demand was still there. They could have released in 2001 after Vegas and Rio and then go on tour. B

  7. Man, just checking for the first time since the pandemic began to read this shit news. I was planning on flying over to Chicago for a little blues at Kingston Mines and a Guns N' Roses show at Wrigley. This pandemic is taking away valuable shelf-life of our aging rock stars. I only like "legacy acts" and they're all starting to sound like shit with age. Fast-forward two years and I'm sure that James Hetfield, Huey Lewis, Joe Elliott, and our beloved Axl will not sound any better than they did in 2019. I hope you are all well and also hope that each of you American forum members

  9. Crazy times folks, though as always, the safety of our families and ourselves should take priority. Our time will come to attend these events that we used to take for granted, hopefully time will show the strides that the government claim to be making.

  10. Yeah, I'd say if that's off, there's now zero chance the UK GNR dates are happening. They'll probably do what they did last time and not bother to announce the cancellation until moments before the gigs though, so don't expect anything soon!

  12. They had enough material to do a 10-track 'Guns' disc and a 10-track 'Roses' disc, then an EP with the weird shit like Silkworms.

  14. Hot take: The album would’ve sold better, and us diehards would all like it better for being more of an “honest” reflection of what the band really was at the time... But in the long run, casual listeners would’ve ended up hating it more than they even do now. As great as those 2000 demos sound, they’re missing one major thing that most casual audiences consider essential for Guns N’ Roses, and that’s solid lead guitar solos. On those 2000 versions of the songs, most of the leads come from a guy who wasn’t even in the band (Brian May). Besides, as poorly-received as chidem was in 200

  15. This is promising... I think most global leaders will look at the last four years as an aberration and will pick up where they left off with Obama. Those countries (Brazil, Mexico, Saudia Arabia) banking on four years of Trump might have to reverse course quickly.

  16. GREAT RELIEF! All around the world...TRUMP IS OUT! We can sleep at night. The great thing is President Biden is going to change many of Trump's toxic policies such as climate change, Iran, Covid etc I wonder if Axl acknowledge the inaugeration, maybe it will be a spur to some music

  18. At least 4, maybe 5? Can't remember if the 'regular drums' and RM1 versions are the same, I think they are though? The 2001 mix has some extra guitars and sounds a little more polished (it's easily the best one, IMO). - Rough Mixes 1 - Drums at regular level Drums up 1.5db Drums down 1.5db - 2001 mix

  23. How do you know this? I mean, how do we know it isn't working as a deterrent at some level? Sure, we still have murderers, but how can we know there wouldn't be more if we didn't have the death penalty, maybe only a very few more? I am not even disagreeing, I just don't understand how e can say with any confidence it doesn't work as a deterrent (at some level), when this is more or less impossible to study?

  24. yeah he certainly always has been, I just feel for me personally, I used to be on the side of those guys are dumb touring without Baz and in the last few years especially, I'm like man when they say it's not worth it, I can see what they mean. It's hard to be a fan of the guy these days. I can only imagine trying to work with him. both sides are a shadow of what they were without the other though. I think Sanke put it best in an old interview..I think from the early 2000's or so when he said : "Sebastian can't write 18 and Life and I can't sing it"

  28. Yeah, who needs new bands when you've got geriatrics propping up their retirement funds and "starting to sound like shit" hey? Nothing like watching a knackered Huey Lewis from the back of an Arena in 2021 to get the adrenaline pumping. I'm sure the American forum users are absolutely DEVASTATED at the prospect that they may not have anyone to stir up any more fatal attacks on Washington. What a blow to them.

  29. I think the box looks smart as fuck, but hopefully it means I can get it into a regular sleeve with it being a gatefold! Yeah, I remember you talking about the picture disc, but I stayed clear as I'm sure you had heard bad reviews of the sound quality etc, plus, the boxset/gatefold is much more pleasant on the eye anyway! I like having the artwork to enjoy while I listen to records, you don't really get that with the picture discs.

  30. Wow, that's really cool. I had no idea that there was ever a gatefold version of this! Seems like it's exactly the same set but in a gatefold instead of the box. Personally, I couldn't care less about the box. I wonder if they might reissue it in the gatefold like this. There was a reissue of sorts a couple of years ago but they were picture disc's. I mega loathe picture discs, so I wasn't happy about it lol

  31. I'll try not to ramble, but here's what I think is the story on their split: Baz wasn't even supposed to be their singer on the first album. The album was done but their singer got in some sort of legal trouble and had to leave the band. The record label found Bach from a Canadian band called Madame X and just sort of put him into Skids. So he was never really part of the band to begin with but they had enormous success out of the gate, so everyone went with it. From what I understand, he always wanted more to do with writing and direction of the band but their attitude was always li

  33. I think you’re quite wrong there. There was a different scene in 2000, it was a strange time, but one that people would have said “ok Slash and those guys aren’t there” and perhaps it would have been as well received as some Sabbath albums, even Ozzy solo stuff. Slash brings no Guns to the Roses.

  34. I purchased one of my highly sought after records last Saturday. I had cold feet instantly for some reason, and the gentlemen messaged me saying he needed a few days to post it. It still hasn't been done, or at least he hasn't notified me that it's been posted. I now have the fear as if he has a change of heart, I'm fucked and will have to wait another long time to get it for a decent price. Such is life. On the plus side, I picked up a 7" picture disc of Scoobie's Magnificent 7. It's the worst thing you'll ever hear in your life, but it has Henrik Larsson on it which makes it the greates

  38. If CD material would come out in 2000-2002 it would shake the rock scene. It could be a defining moment in new era Rock music, at least for its own decade. And people of 2021 would always think of it as an art piece that was way ahead of its time. ...Forget about all of that, instead we've got laundry bag + toy truck and son of Axl's toilet cleaner ridiculing passionate fans and trolling us in Reddit.

  42. It's just speculation but probably much better than it was. 2-3x platinum in the US. With the right promotion and Better as the first single it would be considered a great comeback and a great starting point for the new band to do more in the future. Unfortunately what we got was one fuck-up after another.

  44. I have no clue how they could release a blu-ray or live album without it being completely exposed as doctored. They've put all of these NITL Selects videos out there so people know how awful the whole band sounds, not just Axl. My guess is we MIGHT get some sort of UYI reissue this year at the very most.
