  1. How is this thread disrespectful(which whether it is or not is a mods call) ? It wasn’t started out of the blue, it was started in response to an interview DJ ashba gave which in all honesty he’d have been better off not doing. So no it isn’t to just trash somebody and DG are members of this band current and former immune from criticism ? Because I don’t think they are. If they make public statements or release books then I think we as a fan base are entitled to talk about them.

  2. This is a disrespectful thread in that the only reason for its existence is to thrash somebody, totally pointless and disappointing.

  3. Don't misquote. I didn't defend DJ at all. His solo spots were predictable and polished. What you call "guitar wank" is one of the few reasons I bother to fork out large sums to see a rock show. Gene Simmons says rock is dead but he's part of the problem. I won't go to a kiss show because I know what I'm going to get. A greatest hits record in 3D. Cash grabbing nostalgia shows are what is killing rock. An artist saying that rock is dead is arrogantly stating "I was the best, there is nothing after me". By move on I mean to break out of the nostalgia loop and make new creative choice

  5. As we all know, Alan Niven was also managing Great White besides Guns N' Roses (actually Great White was Niven's "main" band, as he had been already managing them when became GN'R's manager, and he also had writing credits with them). Great White were relatively successful in the late 80s and their biggest hit was a cover, "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," originally by Ian Hunter (guitar, arrangement and production by Mick Ronson - they both were in Mott The Hoople). According to an article from back in the day (May 1990) written by Arlett Vereecke (GN'R's publicist), which quoted Mick Ronson, G

  8. No, the thread is about an interview DJ chose to do. People posting here will have varying reactions to what he said but ultimately the purpose of an interview is self publicity so people read and talk about it. I'm sure DJ knows that as well as anyone. Individual posts that cross a line and break forum rules can and should be reported but I've not seen that so far on the thread.

  9. DJ disrespects the guitar every time he attempts to play it. Based on the interview he is also arrogant, although he disguises it as humbleness, and clearly delusional. He wants people to applaud his material possessions, probably because those are more worthwhile than his EDM career. Also using a credit card doesn't mean you're spending more than you earn if you're using it correctly, so he's also just stupid. It is quite the difficult task to find something about him to like. I guess maybe his water might taste okay?

  11. There is no way Axl records new vocals ... If Axl re-recorded the '99-'06 vocals on unreleased ChiDem tracks that would be the craziest thing to happen in GnR history

Guns N’ Roses – Nightrain ‘Loaded like a freight train, flyin’ like and airplane, feelin’ like a space brain one more time tonight…’ At the heart of the driving riff propelling those lyrics, Steven Adler’s pounding cowbell mightn’t have the heft of the titular locomotive but, with Guns N’ Roses dragging the genre furiously into the future, it grounded the track, weaving in threads of the old-school stadium sound Guns would go on to channel to world conquering effect.

My city has left over vaccines and they are giving it to the school district so I'm hoping all the teachers can be vaccinated before school is back next Monday. Also some areas where people have trouble getting to a vaccine site or can't sign up were giving bus transportation to vaccine sites today for their shots. It seems Texas is doing a great job of getting as many people vaccinated as they can. Well, this week was spring break and the beaches were packed. No masks here in Texas anymore. And the bars were packed

  20. Yeah, Axl hss this idea of "waiting forbthe right time, setting the stage" but the right time was 2012, and now the right time was probably the beginning of 2018 for new material. Absolutely no need to tour into the ground. I just don't know how anyone would come to that decision... we're not in the music business, we're basically fantasy bookers and we called it exactly with a steady decline in ability to sell big venues. The smart move was always, tour and concrete the line up - that's 2yrs max on the road, and then hit the studio and return quickly capitalizing on the reunion excitement. At

On one hand I of course agree racism, sexism, homophobia etc is all really fucked up anti-social destructive piece of shit behaviour. Anything goes in art though, for better or for worse, I don't approve of censorship and political correctness. On the other hand and I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, on a deep primal level it truly repulses me and the notion of essentially redefining women - a foundationall

  24. ITW needs a Kanye West remix and a music video that follows the story of Estranged. But this time, when Axl jumps into the ocean, all the dolphins are skeletons. Melissa rises from the water to play a sweet, sweet sub-bass solo. 12" maxi single with 4 alternate remixes coming soon to an offline retailer near you. Get the tour-exclusive quadruple album at the all-new-show this winter.

  27. Whatever the pause will take, if they don't come up with any new songs + Axl sounds the same he did around 2019, I'm throwing in the towel on watching any YT videos / streams of any new shows, even individual songs. I know they do things their way, but there's that and then there's this unique situation. Changes need to be made. I know, I know, "some people are never satisfied" & "they don't owe us anything"!

  28. This is my recollection of that period as well. The Rio performance, that yellow fucking rain coat, and Axl seemingly just forgetting where he was during November Rain was not reported positively in the media. The Bridge School disaster saw him absolutely slated, and some of it was really pretty harsh. The Dublin gig was severely panned too. And a lot of the bad will started (in the UK and EU media at least) with the Reading balls up in 2010. GNR's legacy was in tatters at this point. But yet, despite all this, there are still some people who seemingly will argue that the nu-GNR period w

  29. I could see him using the vocals he recorded years ago too. But the 58? yr old Axl can't really sing that way any more so, I'd be in favour of scrapping and re-recording to his current ability. Hopefully the clean vocal is used sparingly. End of the day he knows that people want that raspy voice, and that's what the GNR sound is, so I can't see him going too far away from that... although he could go full Lou Reed on us, who knows😄

  30. That's down to a few things but basically GNR had burnt all their goodwill everywhere besides SA. They were doing well(ish) in EU and they were solid (ish) in Asia/Australia but it was a matter of time. America on the other hand was a disaster zone, they just couldn't generate any positive momentum - 90s / the split with Slash, huge wait for the record, the record being received fairly lukewarm, the Rio disaster before they kicked off the US run... add that all together and you've got the answer to why GNR were in the rough. The wheels were even coming off in Europe with Reading/Dublin making

  33. The only thing that matters to me at this point is: Please, Slash, pay real attention to which songs are you gonna be using in your new SMKC record! Are you sure, really sure, super sure you didn't present any of the songs to Axl and he "didn't fucking like it at first"? We cannot afford 1995's "It's Five O'Clock"-my-song-your-song bullshit all over again. I'm not 18 anymore, I have a weak heart and zero patient to wait for another 20 years! So please, pay attention!

  34. All part of the master plan. I just know in my heart of hearts that the guys will be having several Zoom meetings per week to discuss important stuff. Like whether or not Dizzy's tambourine track in State of Grace should be 1db higher or lower, or which of Richard's rhythm guitar tracks for Hard School should they use from his 18 years of recording, and should they splice together a mix featuring Paul's original demo work done in 1998. But of course, the burning question will be... do they need a separate specifically recorded sub bass track for each individual song, rather than just using the

From wiki: Chinese Democracy won an IFPI European Platinum Award, having sold more than one million copies in Europe,[300][301] and had sold 2.6 million units worldwide by February 2009, according to Universal Music. 5 mil worldwide since its release isn't that much of a stretch, but I don't know where to find the total sales figures.

What a cute story! one of our local anchor news women was on the street talking about the horrible winter storm week and a kitty cat come by her and was rubbing herself against the woman's legs. She is a tortist shell cat. Anyway, poor thing was cold and they took her to a shelter. She has since gotten her forever home and family. What a great story! Made me smile. It shows there is some good left in the world.
