  3. I don't understand the need for insults and brining up completely unrelated topics (lizard people, flat earth, all that). It's sad for me to see that people are completely comfortable believing whatever their government tells them without question. Money talks and when the poor have gotten poorer and the rich have only gotten richer during this time, I believe it's healthy to have some skepticism. There seems to be a (hopefully) small amount of people that would be satisfied with a perpetual lockdown. Why should I have much faith in government to begin with and organizations that have provided wildly inaccurate guidance, and write conclusions, that aren't supported by data? Covid-19 is dangerous. But it would be useful data to know that the majority of deaths were in the old and people with pre-existing health conditions. Why not prioritize and protect them? 80% of all people that died from Covid-19 were obese. That should be worth talking about. Life is about risk management. I'm sure the people that haven't worked in months or the entire year would be happy This topic is boring. I'd rather talk Guns N' Roses.

  6. Well, I saw it in chunks. Would have probably hated it if I had to sit in the theater for four hours since I am not super invested in the universe. Overall, it was definitely way better than the theatrical cut. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was surprised how similar it is in the grand scheme of things. It truly is the same film in terms of the general gist of the story and beats. The pieces that get through the film are obviously completely different, and I think every "new" (or would they be old?) scene in the Snyder cut works better. The characters definitely get more room to breathe and develop. I can totally see why Ray Fisher is upset, what Whedon and the studio did to him is utter bullshit. He was the best part and arguably most important part of the original vision. He was essentially completely cut in the theatrical version. The Flash was a lot better in the Snyder version, too. Steppenwolf (lol) was still generic, but an improvement from his theatrical version. Having him be an insecure loser was a little more interesting than him being a mustache twirler. Over use of slow motion and the Amazon wailing woman theme was really irritating. They could have shaved off 20 minutes by taking the slo-mo down a notch. The movie was still dark and moody compared to Marvel, but nowhere near as bad as Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman. I have no idea why the studio sought to even Marvel-it-up more, as it was already relatively easy going in its original state. The core story remains generic, but the road getting through it is at least coherent here so it gets points for that. I also wonder if this is truly the original film as intended. Snyder had the once in a lifetime and possibly the first and only example of a director getting another crack at a 300+ million dollar blockbuster, given 10s of millions more to refinish it, and have existing feedback in place from a theatrical version he did not complete. Its a crazy situation. The ending was a disaster, but I almost give him credit for having the balls to put it in there. I am not a big DC- Extended Universe fan, but I almost wish we would get another 4 hour Justice League movie (or two 2 hour ones) on HBO Max by Snyder. The apocalyptic future with an evil Superman and Batman teaming up with that mess of a Joker (that scene was cringy) looks kind of stupid, unique, and interesting. A story like that would be sort of different. I know the Thanos snap story is pretty much an apocalypse, but seeing some rag tag team of DC heroes following dumb trenchcoat Batman to take down Superman and Darkseid and undo that shit sounds like a worthy waste of time to watch. Oh well, we will get another generic Batman reboot instead. Now give me a 3 hour director's cut of Rise of Skywalker with extended space battle scenes, a few slow scenes in the first half, actual Palpatine exposition, Luke's sacrifice in VIII rallying the galaxy for Lando exposition, Rey and Ben Solo actually teaming up against Palpatine, and a Jedi ghost party backing them up in the last battle and I'd be stoked. It would still be terrible, but that is what I want.

  7. Spent Eastern down south with my mother where I was born. I really like the place. I didn't like it when I moved from there at 19, but as I've grown older I have really come to appreciate all that is good about it. Especially when returning back to Trondheim in a blizzard. Left spring to rejoin winter. Ugh. Talked to my mom, we will take over her house when she leaves/dies. Like a vacation home in the south. A place I can move to when I am old. It's a beautiful place to be old. Almost no snow and excellent for hikes. Just relaxing and quiet. My wife agrees. Couldn't be happier. Can't wait to get old!

  9. I sincerely hope that with GNR's live shows postponed so much they have done some serious reflecting on their live show and ways to change it up not just for the fans but for themselves as well. I can only imagine how boring it must be playing the same songs in pretty much the same order for 5 years Not that I think said self-reflection has or will take place lol but one could only hope. I think even simply starting the setlist with a few different songs would help it out - or putting Paradise City earlier in the set and ending the show with Nightrain or something

  10. Please cite some examples of people catching covid outside? Oh that’s right you can’t. Because you would literally have to be in someone’s face coughing or sneezing into their mouth to catch covid outside. These false notions are why idiot governments like California and all of Europe and Canada require people to wear masks outside. Rules backed by nothing based on nothing.

  11. In an ideal world, I'd want the rest of CDII untouched, with Stinson, Finck, Bucket and the rest of them all over it. Realistically, I know it's not going to happen but Slash and Duff will still shine on a new record, I have every faith in that and I can't imagine Axl punting out a record that won't be up to standard. A reasonable consolation for me though would be seeing the likes of Tobias etc among the songwriting credits, as those guys deserve the recognition for the stellar work they came up with when the Chinese sessions got underway and I hope the material, in some form, sees the light of day sometime soon! Anything released under the Guns N' Roses banner with Axl Rose singing and DJ Ashba not on guitar, sign me up for!

  17. Yes, we’ve been hitting close to 10k new cases per day the last few days (if we had the same population as the US this would be roughly equal to 80k-90k cases per day). We re-opened too early and our vaccine rollout has been really slow. While America has largely opened up vaccine eligibility for almost anyone, we still limiting vaccines to people 65 and older. So most of the new cases and hospitalizations are for younger people. Deaths are just starting to tick back up and hospitalizations are higher than they have ever been in the last year. Where I live in Ontario things have become so bad that they’re making space for adults in the one hospital we have for children and they’re beginning to ration anti-inflammatory meds. All could have been avoided if we had more supply of vaccines and/or our political leaders taken seriously the warnings experts were signalling a month ago. Instead our bozo Premier (who is a Trump wannabe) tried to have it both ways by doing nothing consequential to lower the transmission rates. Sorry, but people need to see baseball in person in Texas for some stupid reason.

  23. Atlas, Perhaps & Hard School are all top tier rock songs. They don't reinvent the genre, but they don't need to. Any one of them would have elevated the 2008 album. If the spirit ever moves Axl to release music publicly again, I'd love to see Slash and Duff take HS for a spin.

  26. Again, more insults and bringing up topics that have nothing to do with Covid-19 or Guns N' Roses. What's boring is responding to trolls like you. Your posts are trash. God bless. No matter what songs the band plays, I hope they play them well. Songs are key, but strong performances seem even more important. There is likely nothing the band can play that we haven't heard at some point (minus new songs of course). Still optimistic the North American tour happens at least in part.

  28. Did you read any of the articles? Geez person on the internet. You seem to be pure troll trash and as I much as I want to drag this on with you, you bore me. Either say something substantial or don't. Either way, you've proved you have nothing to contribute. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33215698/ + There is uncertainty about the effects of face masks. The low-moderate certainty of the evidence means our confidence in the effect estimate is limited, and that the true effect may be different from the observed estimate of the effect. + There were no clear differences between the use of medical/surgical masks compared with N95/P2 respirators in healthcare workers when used in routine care to reduce respiratory viral infection. Hand hygiene is likely to modestly reduce the burden of respiratory illness. Harms associated with physical interventions were under-investigated. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33249484/ + Five identified studies found a low proportion of reported global SARS-CoV-2 infections occurred outdoors (<10%) and the odds of indoor transmission was very high compared to outdoors (18.7 times; 95% confidence interval, 6.0-57.9). + Existing evidence supports the wide-held belief that risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is lower outdoors but there are significant gaps in our understanding of specific pathways. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33479261/ + The results indicate that a low 25(OH)D concentration is a contributing factor to COVID-19 severity, which, combined with previous studies, provides a convincing set of evidence. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33049331/ + COVID-19 patients with mild-to-moderate illness are highly unlikely to be infectious beyond 10 days of symptoms.

  30. Eyes Wide Shut 4.9/5 I am a huge fan of Stanley Kubrick he is a master filmmaker. Creme de la creme. Possibly the greatest director of all time. A true genius. The only reason it isn't a perfect rating is because sadly he died before he could do his truly final cut of the film and some no talent bastards apparently cut scenes and censored the orgy. Really disgraceful especially since it was his favourite of his films.

  31. Up until very recently, I kept all of them in line with the rest of the records in my bins. I started running out of room again though so I moved all the TMR boxed sets I won't listen to regularly to down below my main bins. If/when I want to listen to them, I'll just get down there and get them. Moving the TMR sets get me a lot of room back, so that's all I moved for now. Everything else is still in line until I get desperate for room and have to figure something else out.

Sometimes with boxes like some of the older TMR vaults that have like dvd, patches, etc...i've just sold all the novelty shit and have the records in the box. Mostly all boxsets I buy are really just albums in a box though...maybe a poster or booklet here or there, like the recent John Lennon Gimme Some Truth box.

  35. I saw GNR live in NYC in 2017 and it was a cracking show. I'm due to see them again in Glasgow in 2022 (rescheduled from last year). Though at this point I can't help feeling really disappointed by the reunion overall. If no new music is released by this time next year, I'm likely to sell ticket for Glasgow show. I'm kinda of the opinion that they should've called time on the band after 2017 as things went downhill rapidly thereafter. And I have zero belief that they will release any new music. There are few bands that treat their fans with such contempt in terms of updates, progress, etc.

  36. Why salty? Let's start here, https://www.axios.com/bmi-obesity-severe-risk-factors-covid-19-cdc-063fb142-234c-4654-98b1-de357fb8df87.html https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/obesity-and-covid-19.html Any health organization that advocates for masks, distancing, and keeping business shut down (arguable more impactful than COVID-19 over time), that doesn't address the obesity pandemic and how it's impacted death rates in modern countries - is not really taking the pandemic seriously. Why not start there? Encourage healthy life styles and make people provide they are not overweight or underweight. Have fitness passports and periodic fitness exams - and you can get your passport to normal life. "Distance yourself from too much food, not exercise or normal life." - Things like that. Speaking of Guns N' Roses. I'm cautiously optimistic that the North American shows will happen, at least in some cities. Let's hope GNR have a spine.

  38. Not in order as it will always change, but most of these games will at one point or another fall into my top 5. Resident Evil 1 and 2 Asheron's Call There will never be a game experience like this again because there simply can't be. A massive open world MMORPG before the internet was what it is now. You could run in a direction for literally hours and find places and shit that wasn't documented ANYWHERE. It was glorious. Quake II Doom & Doom II Metal Gear NES original Civilization (multiple titles) Diablo 2 Legend of Zelda (Multiple Titles) In just sheer amounts of time played, Asheron's Call is probably #1 followed by Quake 2 and then Doom. Most anticipated game ever was Resident Evil 2. Game I was best at UT2k4 (I played on ladders and we were globally ranked as high as #2 at one point) And Early Madder. I won a lot of money in Highschool on Madden 93

  39. The build up to that show is without a doubt, one of my happiest days as a Gn'R fan. The rumors of the fake band playing the Troubadour, then the radio stations in LA saying something was cooking at Tower Records. Then the GN'R flyers that they started to place there. Then Fernando delivering pizza to the people that were camping in line (probably the best thing he did since he manages Gn'R ). Everything that night was magical. I'm from Argentina and I stood awake all night, trying to find every piece of information that I could. Some of the best MyGNR CSI work was done that night, prior to the announcement. Really exciting times. And then of course, the show itself. The most memorable Periscope stream in GNR's history happened that night thanks to the legend himself @Fede This thread is a great nostalgic read:
