  1. That must be the weirdest poll I've ever seen...

  5. Sadly, slash seems to have lost his chops. His timing , rhythm and feel have taken a major hit and he pretty much noodles random notes in place of the guitar solos . I hate to say it but Guns N’ Roses as a live band are terrible nowadays. That being said it’s still a great time to go see them and hear the hits. I predict the next tour will be exactly the same as the Not in this lifetime tour.

  6. Relax a bit maybe and move on to one of the many other people here who aren't too happy with things? Forget about me - consider me one of your success stories. I've been blessed by you, and have seen the error of my ways. I've just dropped several thousand on tickets for multiple shows, as I now know I was wrong to not be interested in seeing the same show again. It was shameful of me to think the band look utterly bored, and to express that view. It's also deeply despicable of me to expect anything new or different. You've educated me, good and proper. You are the super-fan. Time to move on to the next grateful recipient of your sage thought policing! That help you along?

  7. Apparently we should be starting to vaccinate the over 30’s within days after we managed to secure another 40 million doses of the Pfizer jab. I’m 41 so should be getting mine within a week or two. 🤞 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/over-30s-nhs-covid-19-vaccine-pfizer-jabs-deal-b931598.html%3Famp

  10. My predictions: Axl will suck. Slash will suck. Duff will be punk as fuck. Richard will show some more side boob. Frank will actually be just fine but because everybody else sucks he will be blamed for the suckage. Dizzy will have a new djembe to make Welcome to the Jungle sound better than it ever has. Steven and Izzy don't have shit on this new djembe. Melissa will have a new hair colour and take over on lead vocals for most of the set.

  11. Just listened to the album and it's a bit of a disappointment really. All the songs follow the same sort of chord progressions, it's very one note. A lot of the songs have the same build from verse to chorus. I just can't understand how their producer didn't say "hey guys, you're using that same idea, here, here, here and here... wanna try something a bit different??". Ultimately it's just a bit forgettable because it's so fucking safe. When you're standing on the coattails of Aerosmith, GNR, Zeppelin, AC/DC you really need to do it well... and these guys are good players and singers, but they are suffering from some very basic songwriting and a lack of diversity. I can imagine people liking this in the same way they like Airbourne, Greta van fleet "Oh it reminds me of my youth / favourite band". I don't mind retro rock, but it needs to go somewhere unexpected I don't want to hear a new band playing a song that sounds like a B-side from a band I already know snd love. The Morning is probably the standout track, obvious choice for a single. At the very least it's a slight change of pace from the rest of the songs. The EP was very good though. There's nothing on here as solid as Scars IMO.

  12. The AFD five is reuniting! But with a catch - Melissa will be taking over as the lead vocalist. Axl is taking Dizzy's place so that the piano songs can still be trickled into the set. For the first time ever, hear Steven back the Illusions material with Slash and Duff. Relive the serious groove and swing of Izzy and Steven on the Appetite material. Hear Axl play the piano on Estranged live. Or, as the alternative, the current line-up continues as-is. No new music. Axl continues a steady vocal decline. Richard buys a new shirt and no longer gives us any sideboob. I know my vote. But I'll miss the sideboob.

  13. No need to discuss the set list predictions seeing as we already know what they'll play and the order they'll play it in. I also don't think we need to discuss the possibility of new music because, lol. However, there are other things to discuss about the next show. What do you think we happen? Will Fortus still be in the band? That seems a little up in the air with all the gear he's selling. Will Slash get back to playing his own solos remotely close to how he recorded them? I wonder if he was so burned out by the end of the last run, that he was just playing whatever he wants. Will Axl be prepared? Dude never, ever properly prepared for a tour but I'm hoping (like an idiot) that this time is different. What else is anyone wondering about?

  15. Like all the interviews are of Luke, when they did the artwork for the song with Paris Jackson it's a photo of her with Luke, not her with the whole band (The Struts ft Paris Jackson). Does anyone even know the other bandmembers' names? I've never seen any press or anything that mentioned them. The Pretty Reckless is heading down the same road too unfortunately (and I really like them). I saw a pic while back and I thought it was Luke but it was actually Freddie from a show in the 70s. That's a definite sign that he's way too similar.

  16. I get your point of view but the thing that bothers me is that Slash, Duff and Steven are denied the original Guns status. I mean it's not such a big deal. But considering the contribution of Tracii, Ole and Rob I just don't think they're deserving of being called "original" members of a band of this magnitude. Because in the grand scheme of things they're insignificant. Ole was there for a couple of weeks. The members were shuffling so much you could barely distinguish what is Rose, Hollywood Rose, LA Guns... It was one big mingle, for lack of a better word. So those five guys called themselves Guns N' Roses in march 1985 or whatever but to me it was more like "ok, let's put you and you together and we'll see what comes of it". With Duff, Slash and Steven it bacame a band. And later on a partnership. Ole, Tracii and Rob were just a few guys that played with Axl and Izzy for a month or two. They are non-existent in the GN'R catalogue. If their roles were at least similar to the role of Bob Klose (Pink Floyd) or Pete Best (The Beatles) then they'd be at least somewhat deserving of that title. But technically you are correct. They were the very first line-up. But they could've just as easily been called Hollywood Rose or LA Guns. Because it was just another combination albeit with a moniker that became legendary. To me they are the first draft of what eventually became Guns N' Roses.

  17. Indeed. Well, keep on the absolutely non-ironic practice of repeatedly complaining that people complain. That's in no way ridiculous. Thank goodness we have such a super-fan as you here to keep us all in check. Who knows where we'd be otherwise!

  18. 2014 is a stretch, I'll give you that😄 The band from 2010-2012 that was intense. 2006 was a whole other level though, having a great band AND Axl on top form... oh hell ya!!

  19. Thank you! The grenade cover is a holy grail of mine too. I would even be partially satisfied with a really good fake (some are rumored to exist) but the real deal would be ideal. I'd pay good money and/or do some dirty things for the grenade cover! Hahaha

  20. I don't think so. the General was written by Brain and State of Grace is from Beavan sesions.

  21. Woooaaah. Hang fire there. 01/06, I can give you! That said, I really did think they hit a stride in 2012. 4tus shone on Rocket Queen in particular. Musically, they were tighter than in 2010, but Axl was the difference in it being more widely appreciated in my opinion.

  23. What the fuck are you on about? I said nobody outside of here knows Rob Gardener and that I consider Steven the original because he did all the groundwork, EP and LP. Think you completely misunderstood me... even though I said "I don't count his few weeks in gnr as Important". Now to 2006-2014. You're talking out of your ass. I met so many people at the shows who were excited to hear the CD songs. Maybe you didn't go to the shows but by 2012 the crowds were smaller but a lot of people were singing along to SOD, Better and TIL. I know had they chose to play only 1 song from CD I would have been pissed. I went to hear the new album just like I go to a Metallica show and want to hear their new album. You don't have to like it. Loads of people don't. But I draw the line at morons saying nobody goes to hear those songs. There's somebody out there that wants to hear 'My World' live for Christ sake, there are hundreds of thousands (min) of people (worldwide) who want to hear Better AND all the classic songs. I definitely consider Richard a member, with or without writing credits. I considered all the 2006-2010 guys as members. I don't care if you don't or anyone else for that matter. I had no problem accepting a new line up. And once again I'll state my opinion that 2006-2014 gnr were a better live act.

  25. I bought one of these singles on eBay recently, it's shipping from Israel to the US, so I hope to have it in the next few weeks or so. Aside for the multiple different OMG singles (I only have one), my CD "single" collection will be as complete as I know after this one.

  26. Definitely - it's the magic in the formula. It's why the guy on youtube who can play the guitar incredibly will never be a star. I'm not even really being critical here - I couldn't possibly keep up enthusiasm for playing the same songs night after night, year after year.

  27. Interesting rumor. If I had to guess, I would say they are different songs. I'm not convinced State Of Grace advanced much, if at all beyond the demo we heard. I hope I'm wrong, as I think that it is a great song in need of finishing and then released officially. It would make a great album closer, with such intense vocals in the end.

  31. Seems like people in Canada have to be more active in getting their shots. Here in Norway I just have to wait until the government contacts me and tells me where and when I have to go to get my shot. Nothing I can do to influence the process. Just wait for them.

  32. When I'm Gone is one of my least favourite of their songs, but yea, the album doesn't really have a standout. I'm not opposed to shorter albums, 8 songs at around 30 minutes is actually kind of ideal if it's all killer no filler... but this is mostly filler, unfortunately. I still think they have the potential to make a really good album eventually, though. edit: they're one of those good bands that has suffered from "poor" production... Monster Truck, Foxy Shazam and Radkey are some bands that I've seen who's live energy just wasn't captured on record, and that's kinda what this Dirty Honey album feels like.

  35. At this point, this is an easier prediction than being the weatherman in Los Angeles. Axl will sound like Mickey and when he pushes his voice will crack. Slash and the rest of the band will kick ass per usual. They’ll add 1-2 older numbers into the setlist. And maybe, if we’re lucky, we’ll get a new cover song

  37. If Axl is ever going to be motivated again then it's now when he's been forced off the road for the almost 2yrs. Last time he was motivated was 2006 and he got Sebastian Bachs vocal coach to help him get into shape, and he sounded incredible. I very much doubt he's in that mindset. If there's ever been a time where he needed a vocal coach to kick his ass it's right now. Fortus will still be in the band, he's going to ride it out until the very end. Slash and Duff will be motivated to play at least for the very first couple of shows just because of the break, if it's the same set-list as 2016-2020 then the motivation won't last. You would think this full stop on NITL from Covid would mean they say it's time to make a new set-list. I'd love if they rotated opening songs similar to the Metallica method. Yep this is the most likely outcome

  38. It'll be exactly the same as the shows they did at the beginning of 2020. Same band, same songs, same visuals. If there's anything different I'd be very surprised.

  41. Ditch everything recorded by the pre-2016 line-up. If it would've been good, it would've been released. No excuses. Start fresh, write 15 songs, narrow it down to 10, record and release. Shouldn't be too hard for professional musicians. It wouldn't even cost much, if they'd have the songs written and arranged before going to studio. But they are creatively bankrupt as a band, so nothing is going to happen.
