  1. Slash already predicted the next show quite accurate

  2. Based on the bands recent history, it will surely be wild and unpredictable set list, deep cuts and 3-4 never before heard original songs. And lots and lots of rasp, obvs.

  3. Yea... a guy who put up with "where's Slash!?" for years isn't gonna walk off because someone yelled out a song title

  4. Right on. I never try to speak on his behalf but I can certainly assure everyone that he's fine and the tour cancelation had absolutely nothing to do with someone yelling out GN'R songs. It's hard to say more without coming off as if I'm acting as his spokesperson, which I definitely am not. Hopefully he posts the very well written statement he prepared and everything will be clarified

  5. Playing in Guns would screw up the most stable of people.

  6. A world whereupon those are your legitimate options for the day sounds bloody awful! I'd be looking for the gun.

  7. A similar thing with Rush, Geddy Lee technically was not even in the first iteration - Jeff Jones was there before Geddy replaced him. But when people talk about Rush's "original lineup" they reference the Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, John Rutsey lineup because that is the first lineup to actually be the band to do anything with the name Rush So to me, I just don't worry about correct or incorrect because in context everyone knows what we mean by "original" anyways and I just roll with the colloquial terms For rock music in general, there is a tendency to not count any casual lineups t

  8. New directors cut. Different camera angles and better sound mix. If you've never seen this, hit the 3:28 mark for one of the greatest guitar solos ever performed:

  9. We in the UK had a 3000 capacity live music concert last night, no need for masks or self distancing just a covid test beforehand and a few days later. It was an 'experiment' to see how it goes.

  10. It was announced today that NJ will allow restaurants and other indoor entities not to have any capacity limits as long as customers are six feet apart. Governor Murphy and Governor Cuomo will be deciding together on further increasing capacity for outdoor venues. I wouldn't be surprised if MetLife goes with no capacity limits by the end of this month.

  11. I have no problem with Tobias being involved. Song writing wise he contributed a lot to CD and played some cool parts.

  12. You can bet Tobias will be all over a new record also, which I would be incredibly pleased to see.

  13. In my opinion the people who constantly point out that the Appetite 5 technically isn't the original lineup are just know it all's who are trying to flex how knowledgeable they are. The other technical original members were in the band for a few months at the most. The original GNR that everyone knows, loves, and recognizes is Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven. Plain and simple.

  14. Probably, I don’t recall that interview but I remembered being baffled at his response to Brando a few years back on their first interview and thought that couldn’t be the case, especially with around 70 having been worked on with Freese up to ‘99

  15. For most Prince fans, this was just Prince being Prince. We knew for years he could play like this, it only came as a surprise to the people who never knew the full breadth and scope of his talent as a musician.

  16. Hey man, that was some ambient stuff right there. I really liked it, I can see it as an intro or a prelude at a show. It also kind of reminded me of the music used during the masked orgy in Eyes Wide Shut. Very cool.

  17. It would be awesome for GNR to be the first major band to play concerts in the US.

  18. Sad how these days to hear "new" material, one has to rely on some fans rendition of the song, like in the case of Atlas Shrugged. I listened to that youtuber Aien's take on the song. I'm sure if I was able to hear Axl singing it, I would be very into it. Now it's just kind of meh... the name makes it sound epic, but until I hear the real version, I can only shrug my shoulders at that song. Dammit Axl! Put it out there, this is ridiculous!

  19. Highly doubt thats true. Prince was a music fanatic. He surely would of heard one of the most famous bands in the worlds songs. Especially if he was to perform it with george son and on national tv. Even this interview proposed around the world in a day was inspired via Sgt Peppers/magical mystery tour after picking it up off bobby z from the revolution. I reckon he would of expanded and listened to other songs or members solos especially Georges. https://americansongwriter.com/when-prince-first-heard-the-beatles/ What I had read though he never rehearsed the solo wi

  21. It has to make financial sense at the end of the day. If one show is a good distance from the next the overheads are going to decide it. Limited capacity and several dates postponed, I'd say the likelihood of anything happening are slim. They'll almost certainly be the first major band back on the road though.

  25. Enjoy the record. Very good instrumentally with a cohesive “vibe” throughout IMHO. Really like “Rusted N’ Busted”, which to me is easily Hangover or even Pawnshop quality. Gilby’s been knocked for having a “thin” voice for a long time (think he’s even mentioned/acknowledged it). That said- I think he has the attitude that if “Gilby Clarke” is going on the front of the record- Gilby Clarke needs to be singing on the record. Maybe hurts the final product- but on the other hand I find I respect that old school approach. Anyway, when it comes to true solo records- I still always enjoy Gi

  27. Just now saw this thread: I've never spoken on behalf of Ron, but I do want to put everyone at ease. He is just fine. I assume he'll be making a public statement soon, so I'll wait to see if he does to share more info but I assure you, he is just fine

  29. Well, that's such a good word to use. It seems to sum up what these people are! Not sure what this sign is and I hope it's nothing bad, because that's not what I want to say. It just looked cool to me. lol Oh God, if that's the middle finger, I'm so sorry. What a dummy I am! lol Never meant to do that to you or anyone. Sorry I think I used the finger sign. didn't mean to at all. Damn it.

  33. I just call the AFD lineup the "original lineup" in casual conversation because everyone knows what we mean when we say that. And I remember a couple of now-banned past members here always got GNR-triggered when someone called a non-Tracii Guns lineup the "original" lineup so I still do it in hopes I can piss off people that uptight about these semantics

  34. If Guns N' Roses doesn't drop a record right before this next tour, I don't know what to say. There is literally no excuse to not have a record done after a worldwide pandemic kept people indoors for over a year. If you can't figure it out while stuck at home for a fuckin' year, then you're never gonna figure it out.

  35. The MCG, where GnR's Melbourne show will take place just had an 80,000 crowd on Sunday with capacity currently capped at 85% while the rest of Australia is 100%. Combined with some of the aforementioned events, it looks like they will be able to get multiple tour legs away after all.

  39. Ditch everything recorded by the pre-2016 line-up. If it would've been good, it would've been released. No excuses. Start fresh, write 15 songs, narrow it down to 10, record and release. Shouldn't be too hard for professional musicians. It wouldn't even cost much, if they'd have the songs written and arranged before going to studio. But they are creatively bankrupt as a band, so nothing is going to happen.

  40. I liked the finale as well, however it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Same goes for wandavision thoroughly enjoyed that show and than the finale comes and it feels all so super rushed and frantic. Marvel still has some work to do when it comes to doing proper pacing for their tv show finales in my opinion.
