  1. It would be better if they showed the 2006 download because that was actually good.

  2. It was nauseating seeing all the rock press fawning over Axl's weak-ass performance in 2018, I even recall Kerrang saying how Axl had "redeemed himself" after his disasterous performance in 2006. Do these people have a working set of ears?

  4. Oh good, we don't have enough topics regarding a new GN'R album that's never going to happen.

  5. 2 gigs top I'd guess. I think you're looking at about 20-40 shows worldwide, just can't see Cliff wanting to do more, or Brian being fit for anything more extensive. It'd be expensive but spacing out the shows as much as possible would be best for Brian, not so much that he's rusty or can't get his road legs but at 73 singing this style I'd say with travelling 1 show a week should probably be knocking his socks off. Who knows Brian might come out swinging and double nights and sound great! here's a hoping... big thing is when! I mean it's looking like AC/DC would be going on the road next year if they do anything. AC/DC isn't as crazy a prospect as Ozzy going back on the road though.

  6. Had my first shot of Pfizer three days ago - no side effects except an ache in my arm. Interesting survey about the EU: Living, working and COVID-19 (Update April 2021): Mental health and trust decline across EU as pandemic enters another year https://www.eurofound.europa.eu/publications/report/2021/living-working-and-covid-19-update-april-2021 About 25% of EU citizens say they won't get the vaccine.

  7. A friend of mine was in bed for two days after the second Pfizer shot. She had no trouble at all after the first one. I know two people who got Moderna and were sick for two days too. One of those works at a hospital and she said about 1 in 3 nurses there had flulike symptoms for a day or two after getting the Moderna shot. So from my experience, flulike symptoms seem to occur with all three vaccines quite randomly. Nothing really bad though. I think I'll just try to keep my agenda as empty as possible the days following my shots, just to be on the safe side.

  8. Considering there are hoards of message boards revolving around bands that don't exist anymore, I would say nothing would change really. GNR's 1985-1994 run was a real thing and it's never going to not exist. So as long as that's true, there will always be an interest in discussing the band. As far as myself though, I'm not so sure a new record sans Izzy (or even with Izzy) would be worth the wait anyway. How many rock bands release epic albums when its members are pushing sixty? And by epic, I mean albums that live up to the stuff they released in the glory years? Maybe there's some out there I can't think of, but if so, I... well... can't think of them lol.

  9. Yeah, the U.S. is definitely starting to be ahead. I know that the NJ/NYC area got hit very hard with COVID when it started last March. With Governor Murphy starting to ease restrictions in NJ, things are getting much better. The vaccination rate is now 53% in NJ. I'm fully vaccinated since I didn't want to take a chance with this.

  10. Ya, he was referring to the Motley Crue Stadium Tour, which had a start date of June 19. GnR has a start date of July 13 in DC, where the mayor has announced concerts can proceed at full capacity beginning June 11. GnR shows are on, as of now. Changes to the dates are highly likely, but several shows CAN happen if you look at them individually.

  11. Got the Moderna in February and right as rain. Yeah I got the typical side effects right after the 2nd shot but no long term ones! I'm all good.

  12. Picked up two bootlegs today: Van Halen - Live Right Here Right Now Cake - Fashion Nugget and one official pressing: Beck - Odelay, 1 LP reissue I have the 4 LP deluxe version of the Beck album but I never play it because the packaging is a pain in the ass. So I grabbed this 1 LP reissue and I'll probably trade away that 4 LP version.

  13. Bill Mahr who got his covid vaccines tested positive for covid. So I guess the ones who are vaccinated still have a chance of getting covid yet CDC says you don't have to wear a mask and now the supermarkets in Texas are saying you don't have to wear a mask anymore going into their stores. I'm so tired of all this bullshit. It still seems no doctor or scientist still have no idea what this virus is and what it can go. We are all fucked! Good luck

  14. No point mentioning bands that wrote great records in their later years really, but ELO released a great comeback album a few years back that fit right in with the previous material, Jeff Lynnes in his 70s. There is no age cut off for when you might come across a great song idea. Toto's last album was brilliant 50/60 yr olds each. Van Halen Different kind of truth. Paul Simon, Robert plant, paul McCartney too all late 70s and releasing great albums. Obviously there's plenty of very forgettable albums from older artists too. I just don't think an artist has to constantly better or equal their most beloved works... is it a good song? do the songs work together as a package? is it something you haven't heard before? that's what I care about. Also, what is the measurement of if it does stack up? I don't think you can fairly AB them. Those early albums have 30yrs of memory association, they have the bands most beloved hits. A new album could be stacked with great songs and it's never going to be accepted the same way as those old albums when the expectation level was so much lower or none at all.

  17. It looks like anything starting in June or earlier is getting pushed back. Guns tour in the US starts July 10th. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Black Crowes tour as that is scheduled to start June 25th and in reading the tea leaves on their Facebook Page as of May 1 they were planning on going forward with it. If that tour stays on the more likely it is Guns tours stays on.

  18. Well that would actually require this band to release something. Which by this point looks highly unlikely.

  24. They could still play some shows on the other continents. Ten gigs on every leg and two/three shows per week. Something like that.

  25. Can't see them doing ten shows in Asia, it's not a particularly big market for them outside Japan. In fact, the band has never played anywhere in Asia outside of Japan (They did play Moscow in 1991 but of course that's in European Russia).

  26. As I previously said, MetLife Stadium was advertising the GNR concert last Sunday. Furthermore, I just bought NY Giants tickets for the home opening game occurring on September 12. Lastly, other bands have recently announced tours for this summer.

  30. Agree and i think Brian still sounds great on studio records such as power up. Ill be happy they just did new albums. The amount of money they already have they dont need to tour ever again.

  32. Finally got my first shot today (Moderna). I’ve been on five waitlists without any success. Finally my doctor’s office called me and offered me a shot. I think I’m the only person 40 and over I know who hadn’t got a shot.

  34. The community is the one and only reason I visit the forum and why I helped run it for so long. I've made many online and real life friends through the forum. I've had many forum members over to my house for parties or just to spin records regularly. We've even had forum members come from outside the US to hang with us. For me, the community goes far beyond the tiny catalog of music GN'R has released. There's a lot of people I haven't met in person that I consider friends. I've asked for advice with personal issues and I've had people ask for my help & advice with their personal issues too. That's more valuable to me then just discussing a band we all happen to like. So the community for me has been a huge benefit and it's the biggest reason by far I continue to visit the forum.

  38. Don't know why but according to discogs, the one made in Israel it's unofficial and most unofficial stuff on discogs are bootlegs, tough for the UK listings they have the same pics.Myself I plan to buy the russian Spaghetti incident which is pressed in a vinyl plant (Melodia, Antrop sublabel) which is maybe half century old vinyl facility, but it's considered bootleg.

  40. The non-binary option could be a trick by the US government to single out those who check it, and count them as mentally unstable, and thus a prohibited person from obtaining firearms when they fill out the paperwork associated with the background check.
