  1. Hopefully Axl's 2021 comeback will be better than Vince Neil's.

  3. "Susan said" will be kind of cool name for the album.

  4. If they’re smart and want to really release a record. They should call it Use Your Illusions 3, risky but it ties in with the UYI 1 & 2 anniversary. Release a box set of hidden gems from the uyi sessions along with UYI 3 filled with new songs. Everybody wins. But they'd rather ask us to suck their dicks.

  5. My first GNR concert was the show they played this in 2014, and 7 years and 4 NITL shows later it still stands out as a highlight for me. Don’t think I ever heard the song before that night but I was really impressed with Axl’s performance. We definitely need more songs where he can rock out with his natural voice added to the set

  6. The three plus hour shows were fun while it lasted, but I'd be all for them trimming the fat. So much of that is just extended jams and solos anyways. I think chopping it to two and a half hours with a refined set list could help strengthen the set and the pace of the show. I would agree that the big three from AFD plus NR are the only true "must play" songs and the rest could be changed up every night. Axl's voice not feeling up to YCBM? No problem - swap in Bad Obsession. Stuff like that would go a long way to at least make the show "feel" different in the absence of new music. Plus, adding more songs like Pretty Tied Up that fit Axl's current vocals would help ensure he can give it his all the big guns like Jungle and Paradise City. I think there'd be far less complaints about his vocals and the shows would be stronger. I'd even take advantage of the fact that Melissa is there. Have her and Duff back up Axl any time he needs to slip into Mickey, either with gang vocals or like how Duff supports him on Slither. Again - small changes that would improve upon the overall show and sound.

  7. Motley needs to stay retired... there's no reason to wheel Mick Mars onto stage every night just for Vince to embarrass the band.

  8. both Mick and Tommy save the Crue. I've seen them so many times and each time Vince gets worse and worse. He's overweight and drinks way too much. When their latest tour was announced Vince said he would get in better shape because a stadium tour takes a lot more energy to pull off. It's been 2 years and from the pictures I've seen of Vince he hasn't done a thing to better himself. By the time the Crue concert does happen next year will he still be fucked up. This guy can get a personal trainer and eat better, but I guess he figures Crue fans will show. Yeah, true, but if he can't pull off this tour, we will be disappointed yet again. I am getting a refund for the postponed show next year and put it towards my GNR tickets. No one comes before GNR for me. If I see Vince trying to get in shape by next year, I'll see if I want to see this concert. I know getting older sucks, but you are a professtional singer in an amazing rock band, so put up or don't embarass your self and the band. And even if Axl doesn't sound like he did when he was younger, the guy gives 110% and still rocks on stage. He's a professional singer and amazing frontman no matter what. At least Axl puts in the effort and doesn't point the mic towards the crowd half way through a song like Vince does.

  9. They are all alive and well. I'm happy about that. That doesn't change the fact and I'm disappointed with many things that have been taking place not just now. But also many things that took place after their last show in 1993 I'm not asking them to be Disneyland. But sure they could do better in all areas not only with the set list

  10. I think if this ends up being the final album then that's the way to go.

  11. Same man, I'm with you there. Just seems to be harder for some of us.

  12. 100% Yeah that's a great idea. Just change it up a bit so it feels less like they're on autopilot. Same, that does put everything in a bad light. And as said earlier everything would sound better if they slowed some of the songs down.

  13. In my case, the set list is just the tip of the iceberg. There's been many things that I can't deal with. For example the stupid youtube war. People from this forum have been hit hard. They want us to buy silly merch and children books. If they post something in social media is about politics or some BS. We never get proper interviews and not much information. We get news from Susan McKagan? Really? I don't think they should handle things that way. And don't get me started with management I'm afraid I'm not buying expensive tickets if everything remains the same. I don't care if they open with Get In The Ring and RQ last just 20 seconds instead of 20 minutes.

  14. Just the 385 pages so far. I think we can do better.

  15. RQ is Slash's song. I doubt that they would drop it it. The last three minutes of the song is still awesome!

  16. Down on the farm is ok as long as he drops the naff English accent🤣 not familiar with marseilles (maybe that's a bad sign for anyone wanting to hear it). I don't SOYL needs replacing, vocally he can do it, it's just a timing thing mainly. I'd love if he figured out the rhythm bit like you said he just doesn't seem bothered. This song could be interchanged with other fast rockers from afd and uyi though with ease. LALD is also almost always passable and it pips the crowd so I'd vote to keep it. At the very least for the colder climate gigs. Civil war is passable in my book too. The rest need to go though. Go or be worked on extensively, not just by Axl either. Band sound bad on a few of those songs like Better and RQ. I also hope they bring the tempos back to Chinese Democracy touring speeds. Definitely not happening but the band would sound so much better. I think they think they won't sound dangerous if it's polished... that's BS.

  17. They really go OTT on Rocket Queen these days. There's just no need for all that wankery in the middle. Talk about self indulgent.

  18. Oh, I am disheartened sad to hear that. I should have used shorter words.

  19. Yes there is. 2009 until present. I'm confident he doesn't think about GN'R even when he's on stage. He's on stage-autopilot if you know what I mean.

  20. I don't sit at concerts either but I'm 5'5 so it's basically the same lol

  21. How could you not want to see GNR at Wrigley? It will be special.
    1 point
  22. Do you get mad when people in front of you are standing the entire time though? Because I don't sit at all during concerts. And when others are all sitting, it sort of ruins the energy. Especially when you can hear people chattering throughout the entire show. I much prefer being as close as possible because of this.

  23. They could at least do with that drummer lad who looks like one of the heels from Harry Potter. Great player.

  24. I totally agree on all of those points. Whether a very few people on here want to admit it or not, GN'R and their management have made it clear that they only care about one thing: money from casual fans and shitty merch. The easy setlist fixes would be enough to at least get me to go from never giving GN'R money to finding a deal on upper deck tickets. I've still got massive problems with everything else to do with GN'R though.

  25. Yeah, especially if it ends up including all the members from the band’s history, in some shape or form (Duff kinda hinted at that once).

  27. I saw them live on Thursday at the first show of the tour; absolutely amazing show. The new songs sound great live and it seems like they spent some time tightening up the show. This was my 3rd time seeing them and it was the best one so far.

  28. A self-titled album would also work imo yeah. back in 2020 I was thinking maybe the album (which I naively thought was still a possibility back then lol) would actually be called “2020” and use the same artwork that the tour promos were using (the skeleton in Knight armor holding a shield with the number 2020 on it). Tho I think it’s safe to say now that the opportunity to use that title/artwork has now passed.

  29. Down On The Farm was good in 2006, and he could probably still sing it well. There's some live videos of Marseilles from the Vegas 2014 shows on youtube, it's kinda similar to Bad Obsession or The Seeker vocally, and it's just a fun simple rocker. SOYL, LALD, Civil War, YCBM could be alternates but if there's any songs that could be replaced, those are some of them. Better should have been dropped around the same time as TIL, or earlier. As far as "must play" songs I'd say there's WTTJ, SCOM, PC, Nov Rain, and KOHD. Throw in those songs I mentioned earlier and obviously keep songs like Mr Brownstone, It's So Easy, DTJ, Nightrain, Patience etc. and they could do a 2.5~ hour show that sounds great.

  30. Click tracks and Pyro don't pair well with Guns N' Roses.... The big screens are cool when they are showing the band members and not the cheesy 90's screen savers...

  31. This. I am rooting for their tour to fail. I know it won't and they'll always be a large and lucrative market for classic rock nostalgia, but I can't pretend I wouldn't be happy to see half filled venues and the band being forced to scale back on future tours due to dwindling interest. I wish this on them because they need an impetus to change. The bottom line might be the only thing that motivates them (or lets face it, Axl) to actually get off their asses and actually function like a proper band, releasing new music etc.

  33. There's several songs he could sound good on, if he properly rehearsed them. It won't happen, but it'd be great if they dropped these songs: Better, Live And Let Die, Rocket Queen, You Could Be Mine, Shadow Of Your Love, Civil War, Black Hole Sun, Don't Cry and replaced them with: Pretty Tied Up, Hardschool, Bad Obsession, Down On The Farm, You Ain't The First, The Garden, Marseilles, Don't Cry (Alt lyrics)

  34. Since we're stating facts, I'll throw this out there again: The "negative" people on this forum have done nothing but say "this tour isn't for me and here's why, but I hope you have fun if you're going" The "positive" people have responded by attempting to continually insult everyone else. Up to and including saying that people must not have a happy life or might even have mental issues because they have a different opinion on a GN'R tour. Those are facts. You can take a look at the last several pages of the thread for proof.

  35. Less covers, less solos, shorter RQ, shorter KOHD, some UYI „deepcuts“ like PTU, Bad Obsession, Dust N Bones with Duff on vocals, YATF acoustic version. Better and YCBM need to go, they just sound atrocious. Perfect Crime was on the setlist Alternate songs during 2016 I think, but I doubt that Axl could pull it off, same goes for RNDTH, Don’t damn me and Garden of Eden. I hope for Hardschool and maybe another „new“ song. If most those things happen, along with Axl sounding at least bearable, I’d probably buy tickets for Europe next year

  38. What do you expect people to talk about with the lack of activity of this band and the never ending tour. Not much to be excited over.

  39. I myself visit the board not nearly as much as I used to, and thinking about it I honestly can't blame the fans for the negativity but GNR itself in that sense When you have only one underwhelming album to show for the fandom since 2008, an Axl vocally declining since 2017 onwards, declining venue sizes in a time where they should be thriving due to people clamoring to see live shows, very little substantial changes in the setlist beyond a short lived Locomotive, GNR toy trucks and other cashgrab scenarios - yeah I found that I really can't blame people for bringing the critical comments lol myself becoming one of them I want GNR to be the best band in the world again, and a band that lives up to the talent in it - so for me this is the only place where I can really dive into the specific frustrations at them not getting remotely close to that nowadays sadly

  40. I would hold off on stereotyping Americans. For me, I cannot go to an all standing gig due to my disability. I have to go to venues where I can sit and stand. If I stand for an entire concert, I have trouble walking the next day. At this age, I don't have the time anymore to wait for my legs to recuperate. Just some food for thought there.

  45. The only guarantees in life are death and GNR not releasing any more new music.

  46. No. Slash is on-stage and that is a blanket for Axls weak performances, the press are stupid. They've fawned over things and then the same publication / "journalist" will completely thrash the same thing 2yrs later. If we're being real, the people at Kerrang and Metalhammer and Classic rock all knew the performance was weak as piss, but!! they would like to someday get a cover story from GNR so they didn't slate them. They'll slate other bands for not delivering, heard them go through Def Leppard, Whitesnake etc. and that's because those guys have a thick skin and can take some criticism, if they gave the same reviews to GNR they'd be on the permanent shit list. I remember reading the review for Download 2006, they were basically slating the entire thing with the exception of when Bach came on. They don't mention Axl was on time, singing his ass off and the crowd decided to bottle him; they just said Axl storms off stage 3 songs in and comes back with less energy than he started. BS review. Then they review 2018, he's not singing well and the set is bloated, they "as good as it gets... masterclass" morons!
