  1. Possibly the greatest rock debut album of all time.

  2. I think we will sooner have "Rocking recipes with Duff and Susan" cook book than new GnR album.

  3. Man... if they did do this, they'd be so fucking old by the time it came out that they'd be in zimmer frames. At the absolute latest 2023 for the entire package. I mean, we've already passed the absolute latest, but theses assholes keep kicking the ball down the road. 2023 would be 15yrs between records, I mean not even Axl can spin that "record labels..." yeah blah, blah Axl the poor multi-millionaire rockstar that's being oppressed.

  4. Over the last couple of months, @lame ass security and I have been working on a track together. He sent me a few lines for a first verse and chorus, a track title and it went from there. Once we had a full verse and a chorus, I sat down and came up with a riff, vocal melody, and chords to go with the lyrics. I sent it over to him on a crappy phone recording and he was happy that the essence of the lyrics were captured in the music and melody I had put down. We have had changes made to lyrics along the way, discussions about rhyming conventions and how lines would be delivered, then early

  8. That sounded very good. Congrats to you guys

  9. Loved working on it with you bro, couldn't be happier with what you did with the track.

  10. Optimistic should be word wiped from the GNR dictionary. Optimistic if we're going there is Oct 2021 single + Video, December album release... I'd almost say they should scrap any plans of new music if they waited until then, you have to at least be able to perform the new music you release🤣

  11. Indeed it is! I got a diverse taste in music, so it's a win-win for me. Lol Axl is probably fuming Dave did it first. Mickey would suit Barry Gibb's falsetto.

  12. The Brasilia was a step in the right direction and made me actually look forward to this last one.. What a letdown... I mean a pro shot with Adler and I will never watch it again.. I would rather pull up videos of the Cincinnati performance.

  13. Foo Fighters, I mean the Dee Gees just released a record. It's gonna be another NITL type tour coming for GNR lol
    3 points
  14. NITL is one of the biggest tours ever without one major interview. I think the "media blackout," such as it is, is pretty cool. The band's only statements are actions: "If we are on tour, we are on tour. If we are not on tour, we are not on tour." I honestly appreciate not being flooded with GN'R content. That said, fuck TB. It's one thing to have an internal strategy, and another to fuck with fans for no reason. It's just petty, stupid behavior. The worst part is that TB know that there are zero consequences to this bullshit, so it's basically just unaccountable cyber-bullying.

  16. There is no new album/music, for years folk have been making up stories as to how and when new music will be released (look in the archives). What we are getting now is it, maybe another tour after this and then it will be goodbye. No criticism here just observation.

  19. In the rock genre, definitely. There's a lot of 80s debut albums outside of the rock genre that I'd put up against AFD for best overall 80s debut album. That's why I said "ONE OF". You can't just go around saying anything BUT a DJ Ashba album is the best.

  20. I'm too biased to appropriately comment, but will do so anyway-- AFD is the best rock album of all time, period.

  21. There will not be a new album. There’s not even chatter about it. 13 years since CD. They’re done. They probably don’t even talk. Show up, play, collect a check. They’re not a band….they’re an act.

  22. It's constant kicking down the road - when nothing happens around the US tour, it's 'oh it will happen in Europe'. When that doesn't happen it will be 'well, they're waiting to do a full world tour, these were clearly just inbetween shows' and so it goes on. And on. Each new leg people assume the new album is coming. When it doesn't they just move on to waiting for the next leg. Eventually they get drained, drop off the cycle of expectation and take the stance that there actually isn't a new album. I'm quite amazed anyone is still on the cycle of expectation really. It's a definite

  25. The vibe of GnR today is like Slash and Duff do not give a fuck at all. Maybe they went into this with good intentions and got crushed by the whole TB/ Axl Rose way of (not) doing things, to the point where they're just like "Ah, fuck this shit, wheres my money"". And Axl probably gave up completly, his vision didn't work out at all, now he's stuck with Slash. So he doesn't care either and lets TB do whatever. It's speculation of course, but that's the vibe I get with the selects and everything else.

  26. haha - are you trolling?! Hasn't the question moved on now to "will GNR drop an album ever again?"

  27. That's totally true, if he did that it would be the first time that he's not criticized for Mickey.

  32. One of a handful I can listen to all the way through. It's even better than Sebastian Bach's Angel Down.

  33. You're right, sadly. Ever since 2009, it's more or less been the same thing. (Since we know they wanted the next album to be in '09 or the following year, per Axl in the chats and a handful of other sources) We would have heard something by now, if a new album was happening later this year.

  34. Stopped in to a record store this morning to fill a couple of holes in the collection: Linda Ronstadt - Simple Dreams Linda Ronstadt - Heart Like A Wheel Kacey Musgraves - Pageant Material T. Rex - Electric Warrior (Kevin Gray master)

  35. Yeah. Especially when they used Gibson pickups in the new Epi 1959. If anyone is really in the market for a Slash epiphone, I’d highly suggest the older models. Especially the 2010 Epiphone Appetite model. Great looking top and the color looks correct. Comes stock with the Duncans and the used market is still around these new models for the time being

  36. Rough. I think you're right on the money about them using the stereo feed. Which is fine when one needs reference audio while working on the picture. But it takes a Fernando to release the damn thing as such... repeatedly. Considering how much money the tours rake in, the general penny-pinching with the recordings (3 cams in total for a stadium show?), coupled with the draconian YT policy, really leaves them exposed. Maybe they just don't understand modern technology (or the internet) all that much. GNR, ever failing upwards.

  37. I doubt it. They'd be better off shooting commercials showing tRump getting the shot since a lot of surveys show his base is hesitant to get it. Maybe if they see footage of Don the Con actually getting the shot (I believe he did before most back in January) and hearing him say to get it, that could change their minds. Crazy that some people will let politicians not science dictate their health but at this point it couldn't hurt.

  38. I went to the Foo Fighters show last month at MSG that was supposed to be no entry without vaccination. It was a joke, they looked at your card prior to entering the building, but they just glance at it for a few seconds and don't ask to match the card up with your ID. You could show them a photocopy of one and it'd be no problem, although that would be a dick move. I had GA floor, maybe 1 out of 50 were wearing masks, mostly older people. The price for MetLife tickets on ticketmaster are dirt cheap and keep dropping. Pretty much every section looks to have available seats including

  39. Just watched the Dr. Feelgood episode. I remember trying to sing along to this when I was 15 and getting winded. At the time I had no idea about line by line vocal recording. I just thought guys like him and Axl and Sebastian Bach were superhuman or something

  40. These are some of the worst mixes I've heard for a pro shot released live video. Most of the ones that come out from the European festivals etc sound way better than this. Yeah it sounds like it's just the board mix. They could've sent it to Caram or hire someone else to do it, there's loads of people in LA who would love the chance to mix these. Compare those Selects to this: This is a live recording; there's many others that I can think of but this is a good example. Way better than any of the Selects mixes.

  45. Except now it's "Slash, Duff, Beta/Fernando, and myself." Even thought that was true back then I think it's a little less of a gang mentality now, it's Slash/Duff/Axl plus the other ppl playing with them. Like I'm pretty sure Melissa isn't telling the others what to do etc, she does what she's told. From her interview it seems that Slash wasn't into her being there in the first place so her opinion probably doesn't carry that much weight.

  46. I disagree with almost every song you listed other than Out Ta Get Me lol... most of those songs weren't very good during the NITL tour. But here's some of my favourite performances: Patience: Glendale, AZ 2016. Axl sprinting across the stage during the outro was straight out of the UYI days. Better: Houston, TX 2016. The raspiest version from the tour. Estranged: Mexico City, 4.20.2016. Again, the raspiest version from the tour. Out Ta Get Me & My Michelle: Cincinnati OH, 2016. Steven made a huge difference in the energy of the songs. Rocket Queen: Houston, TX 201

  48. Don't forget Alan Niven! I'm a big fan of the podcast. Years ago I told Brando that if he has people like Goldstein and Niven on his show that he should anticipate the wrath of GNR and TB. It's petty and unnecessary. But also predictable.
