  2. Duff's posting stories for his side of the stage, Meegan doing the same from Slash's side. Who do you think is late?

  4. New Jungle intro is neat. EDIT: Then they reverted to the usual tease of the intro, which takes away the impact of the opening notes.

  5. Axl looks a bit slimmer than he's done recently imo... His clean voice also has more power behind it, more 2002 like and less 2013 weak.

  6. FYI… We will be cutting forum service in the next ten minutes due to heavy traffic. It’s unfortunate that the economics of running a GNR forum dictate such drastic steps but it is unavoidable. I can’t afford to run this place if people only show up one day a year. If the band were to do something even slightly interesting that would yield longer term traffic then we could afford to keep the lights on for the first night of touring. But that hasn’t been the case in almost five years. Apologies foe the inconvenience. For show updates please follow us on twitter.

  8. Nobody is throttling internet speeds to prevent streaming of the show. That’s fucking a stupid suggestion for a variety of reasons.

  9. For those interested in some nerd-talk, here are the changes to the original recording of Hardschool so far (Village-Studio recording from "Rough Mixes CD#3", probably year 2000): (Disclaimer: Based on the recordings of the rehearsals from Mexico 2020 and the new one from Hersheypark 2021) Intro was apparently scrapped and replaced by a new Bass-line by Duff (kept simple, Duff must have come up with it because this bass-line can not be found in the original, correct me if I'm wrong) There is now a new guitar-main-melody leading into the 1st verse (this guitar-lead was clearly written, as it's nearly 99% identical to the one played at the Mexico 2020 rehearsal) The guitars in the first runs of the verses are following the same chord-structure, but are more accentuated and defined, less blurry than the original recording The guitars in the second runs of the verses have a new arrangement, still following the same chord structure, but played with what seem to be more "open" chords, overlayed by a single-note melody (The 1st and second chorus seems to be very close to the original recording) There is now a new guitar-interlude between the first chorus and the second verse, played in the slightly lower register (following the chord-structure of the verses) The original repeating lead after the 2nd chorus has been replaced by a new first guitar solo (to the chords of the chorus, as in the recording) There is of course a new 2nd guitar solo where there was the original one - chord progression roughly the same as the original (also the drums seem to follow roughly the same pattern as in the recording), but with some additional chords filled in at the ends of some bars (side note: One guitar solo is played by Fortus, the other one by Slash) 1st part of the bridge follows the same chord progression as the original with slightly different guitar-arrangement and new bridge lead-guitar-work, different drum-beat as well (straight beat, contrary to the original recording) 2nd part of the bridge also basically stays true to the original concerning chord-progression, but again, different lead-guitar and drum-beat The bridge now seems to contain sampled Axl-Background-Vocals going "aye, aye" The transition from the bridge to the last chorus-part is the only part from the original intro that they kept, it is - apart form the lead-guitar - the same song-structure from there on, including the chromatic ascent into the chorus The 3rd chorus has the same structure as the original, but again different lead-guitars during the second run The chromatic ascent between the last 2 chorusses is still there - different lead-guitars Different lead-guitars during last chorus Backing-vocals are new This is all I could catch. Song is in the same-tuning as it originally was (Standard Eb-Tuning, so typical GnR tuning) Just to point out that they - surprisingly - seem to have spent some time with that song, whatever one wants to do with that information.

  10. His phrasing seems improved too, I said that with the sound check clips already. He’s actually ending sentences now, Chinese Democracy was really noticeable.

  12. … faster is easier to sing. Slowed down, youre singing every single word a fraction slower it’s more singing.

  13. No air in Axl's lungs, he's struggling...

  14. Yeah, going by the rehearsals, they were all slowed down a bit

  15. They should get Frank on stage with GnR. That would be great, would love to hear them play that. It's a really good record, you should check it out.

  25. That's got to be a lie! I think it might be massively overstating GNR's importance to think everyone in the local areas internet providers had agreed to give them a shitty service just to keep GNR happy!

  26. FYI, we might experience periods of service outages due to high traffic levels. I’m not interested in paying $300+ out of pocket for one day of heavy forum traffic. We’ve limited access to only members so hopefully we can avoid having to shut the forum down during the first show.

  27. November Rain was written in 1981/82 and was released almost ten years later. Time doesn't matter when it comes to music. GN'R Fans should know that Better than any other fanbase.

  28. To be fair, there is lots of Illusions material that could be added if they wanted.

  29. And to think that for such a long long time all we had of this song was 15 seconds of the first verse and now we might hear it live and with fuckin' Slash.

  30. Having heard that Hard School rehearsal with Slash and Duff I’m now very excited. It has that classic Guns N Roses sound, the one we have all missed, almost Illusions like, bluesy Slash licks with Duff’s menacing evil sounding deep bass. A sound we all haven’t heard with Axl for a long time. I can’t wait. It’s killer !
