  2. Yes they played Garden of Eden, Don’t Damn Me, Coma and IRS during the encore. Axl died afterwards

  3. So why complain about 'forum nerds' who care and hope as if they should be the casuals in the live audience who don't care and hope? I'll tell you why. The so called happy and content people want their feelings to be constantly validated. They want to go to their shows and listen to the same songs endlessly and then they demand the hardcore fans validate exactly how they feel because deep down they aren't happy and contented they're much more miserable and fucked up than anyone on here. I'm speaking generally btw and have only read this page of this thread. But anyone - especially if they're allegedly happy and satisfied - who goes and demands other people echo their feelings and validate them and lecture them out of hyperbolic nonsense really needs to reflect and grow up. If I see GNR in November I'll be honest and objective about it. Hopefully I get what I want, it's a great show, new music. If I then come on here and people are complaining or have criticisms I'll think "Aw that's a shame. I guess they didn't enjoy this or that." Beyond that I'm not going to give a fuck. I'm certainly not going to lecture them about shit I've invented(they're all screaming and entitled and never happy about anything etc etc). Forced positivity is negative. Here's an example. Russ thinks something like Fink is the best GNR guitarist and Frank is the best GNR dummer. I think that's fucking nuts and I told him so and moved on. I simply don't care. Am I prepared to discuss it with him? Sure maybe if he and I feel like it. But I'm not going to wag my finger at him and lecture him bringing in a bunch of weird assumptions about how he's probably never happy and always screaming demands - because that would be fucking stupid.

  4. Wake up dude, it's 2021. That was how I felt like 2 years ago, have you not realized at this point that it's just what it is? Either you take it or leave it. Axl won't sound any better than this, he's 60 years old. He IS singing the best he can (even if it's bad). These past 2 years of bad vocals + a fucking pandemic haven't taught you anything? What were you expecting? It's hilarious that you are bringing these cliché arguments 2 years late. Also why are you bringing the "in the 90s they were real" stupid argument now? Where has your head been for the last 30 years? Were they "real" in 2001, 2006, 2014, 2016? Jesus... If I learned something from following the band's shows this last few years, is that they are not playing for their Facebook Watch audience. No band in the world does that.

  5. IMO - it was clearly done as part of their obligation with Live Nation in exchange for the huge guarantee. Most promoters will agree a fee with an artist for a tour. The promoter pays the fee, hires venues, routes the tour etc. In exchange, the artist plays the shows and undertakes a number of media appearances/interviews etc to promote the tour. This is a stadium tour, which come with big costs and huge risks, and it would be very unusual for a promoter to take on that risk without some form of promotion from the artist. It was obvious Rose wasn't going to agree to do those media appearances, so it's likely he agreed to release a 'new' song as promotion, which Live Nation will have been pleased with. Likely stipulation is that it was the first new studio release to feature Axl/Slash/Duff. I think it's probable Rose intended to use 'HardSkool', but switched it out for Silkworms at late notice for one or two reasons: It's easier to sing live The is already pre-excuse if people don't like it (it's just for fun, clearly a joke etc etc - this narrative has already started) I've stated before, I believe he has no new songs to use, and next to no 'old' songs that are usable. His options were Silkworms, OMG, Perhaps, HardSchool or Atlas, and he picked Silkworms for the reasons above. I'll now get the usual suspects telling me I've no idea what I'm talking about, or that Elvis Presley and Monster of Soul has been recorded fully because Axl said so in chat, or that Beta said there was a CD. Ask yourselves, how long are you going to cling onto the belief that the singer actually writes and records music. Has getting Slash to record guitars over their worst B-Side from 20 years ago given him another 5 years grace for you?

  6. I haven’t posted in a long time but just poking my head in to say that I love how the band are still out there killing it and making gigantic crowds happy in spite of a select few on their fan forums griping about how they’ve gone soft and are lazy for [checks notes] being in their mid-late 50s and playing 2.5+ hour sets every night. My dear sweet goodness. In the last year Van Halen fans have lost Eddie, Stones fans have lost Charlie, and some of you are just here to whine endlessly that your band isn’t playing enough new stuff in their nearly 3-hour set. I promise I have no personal connections to anyone in the band, but my goodness some of y’all could use some perspective. Sheesh.

  12. Had to pick up the Vegas litho while I was there last night, it’s definitely my favorite of the designs I’ve seen on this tour. Only the second time I’ve bought a litho at a show too and the quality of it actually seems a lot better than the one I got in 2017 Just got to buy a frame for it now

  13. Show was great! We were in the pit and had a great time. Band sounded amazing. Stadium looked packed from where we were. WVH was really good as well.

  14. Can we please leave discussion of show threads limited to the show. I get it's easy to digress, but it's becoming insufferable for many (including myself) to see each show thread turned into another argument over new music or a possible album. There are other threads for that. Thanks!

  21. Not only is her jealousy of dj not being in the band sad she straight up lies about saying she saw the band with DJ in that very same arena, considering it didn't open til 2016 and the first time GNR played it was during the NITL tour

  25. Easy to go on the internet and say things are shit. Clearly his glory days are long gone and certain songs need changed but to say he is shit on every song is just plain wrong IMO.

  27. Jaysus! 🤣 What a read! a chance too peer inside the nuttier side of gnr fandom. Pele... you know diddly fucking squat, yet you pass off your opinion as fact. Here's what we do know. Several people have discussed the material Axl has written. They've said there's 2 albums worth of material, they've commented on songs we haven't heard... there's a lot! Of material we have not heard. That you think the small percentage of music we heard from the village leaks is the complete works of the Chinese era astounds me! Remove your head from your ass bud!

  29. Dear bands out there. You heard what kiwiguns had to say? Please stop releasing music because you ain't making money with albums nowadays. Dear kiwiguns, if everybody was thinking that way, we wouldn't have no new music anymore. No new music = no new bands = just old bands touring old stuff. GNR in particular haven't release a ton of albums. There's unfinished buisness to be done. And even if they don't think that way, how in the hell do you wanna tell their fans not to be hungry for some new music by a band with such small discography?

  30. You are out of touch with what the music industry is today and the fact the individuals involved aren't in their 20s and don't give a shit. It's called maturity and growing up. This is how the band and other artists make their money and all of them treat live shows as a travelling musical act, given the financial revenue created for the artist themselves. Do you actually believe the band is going to make a large amount of money out of a new album being released in the year 2021?. You do realise that in today's day and age, albums don't make money. Give them same credit. The have reunited and touring, there is a demand for their performances and that's a smart business play given the difference in the music industry today compared to the past (80s and 90s). There are a number of bands reforming and touring because it's financially beneficial to do so.. I cannot understand, what makes you think the band should cater to your needs and wants.. Did it cross your mind, that band themselves might enjoy playing those songs. If some of you have chosen to over think things and believed based on an assumption and putting 2 + 2 together that = 40, that a new song was going to be played at this show, then that's on you. At least put your hand up and own it. But I suspect, the band and their management will be the easy ones to blame.. for some people being gullable.

  35. We`re in 2021. If you don`t like the setlist and thinks it`s an old boring show, no problem. That`s your opinion and I understand your frustration. But if that situation hurts you, get a life outside Gn`R world. Complaining about that in every show thread is also boring as hell.

  36. I think the truth when it comes to Hard School is, we know it’s rehearsed, cued up production-wise, and seems to be imminent that it gets played. So there’s a sense of…not so much urgency, but anticipation on behalf of the fans in the know on that one. In reality, I think 99% of even the forum diehards would be absolutely over the moon about two new songs and feel satisfied, I certainly know I would be. That of course won’t carry us forever, but it would more than whet our appetites. It’s not like anyone is seriously saying “come on guys, we know Perhaps and Quick Song are in the vaults! What is taking so long?!?” - it’s almost like the band has given us a reason to feel like this when it comes to Hard School.

  39. Us concerts are boring as fuck, except when you see Rammstein or Amorphis then people get the fuck up. when I saw GNR in philly in 16 I was the only person in my section who stood and sang to every song, most people wanted SCOM and paradise city, to be hearing Slash on better, CD and sorry was a dream come true. People were like wtf is Coma, just give me SCOM. ive been to everything from Metallica to Cannibal corpse, and crowds are shit. Ive been to hell fest, wacken and heavy Montreal and they go fucking nuts.
