  1. You already know Hardskool didn’t happen when you wake up to a nine pages long show thread

  2. Absolutely fantastic show last night...easily the best of the three I've seen on this tour. Axl sounded quite good, was talkative and running all over the stage. When leaving, I overheard three different people talking about how much he's changed and how they there were blown away by him. Slash is an absolute show stopper. He's just world class and worth the price of admission alone. Where I was, the crowd was extremely loud and into every minute of the show...much different than Vegas. I can't wait for Wrigley and Summerfest!

  3. Awesome to hear. I hope everyone going tonight has a great time. One thing of note- Please remember to take detailed notes for the forum to post after. This includes, but is not limited to: Exact percentage of rasp used on every song The chances you thought you were going to hear HS beforehand against your disappointment level afterward when it wasn't played How old you were when KOHD started along with your age when it finished If Axl was in a good mood AND cracking jokes or just one or the other The opinion of the people around you of Absurd when it was played The exact number of concert goers who thought Fortus was Izzy Thanks!

  4. I don’t give a shit what anyone says. The band sounds tight and AXL is really signing his ass off which almost all didn’t think could happen again . We are lucky to be seeing this at their age . I thought it was a “stick a fork in them; they are done” before this tour even started

  5. If they would have said "home sweet home" the forum would've lit up with "Motley Crue cover confirmed!!" 😂

  6. Please stop with the excuses. They’ve been throwing breadcrumbs of useless info to an already starved fan base, so they have to realise that when they say something like that on social media, which their fan base follows, we may look into it as actually something out of the ordinary or different, or dare say… ‘special’ But alas, in typical GN’R fashion, we get nothing. Battered wife syndrome continues… Carry on then

  7. they were better than those dudes from a few shows ago who'd be talking about random shit until a recognisable part came up. "The parking near my kid's school is terrible, they really need t...DO YUHH NEED SOME TAAAAAHHHHMMM AWN YEROWNE!?"

  8. "Hey Paul, I rlly miss u bein in da band, whaz fn up!!" "Axl, I keep telling you, this isn't Paul, this is Gilby, you have the wrong number" "Oh, u got Paul's number? We r recording blk hole sun nxt week n him n slash got n amazin dynamic"

  9. Holy shit. Finaly seen some videos, and Axl is miles away from a few gigs back! And I'm not one to shy away from calling it like it is if needed. But he's clearly improved a lot. New hope in my veins. Way to go, you red-headed bastard!

  10. Did it ever occur to you, that the message may not have been directed at the fan base, but might have a significant meaning or milestone directed at someone or something... For instance, this show could have been special because the lead singer was playing in his home town. The rose emjoi placed at the end of the message kind of give it away. Don't overthink the situation. You then, start to look for things that don't exist. A simplistic approach, tends to be the better approach. The simple answer is, it was a special show for Axl Rose as he was playing in his hometown.

  13. I don't follow every show, but didn't they also say that for the Vegas show? It's special to them because they have a connection there, this being Axl's home state. If I were you, I wouldn't read into everything but instead expect nothing, it will save you from a lot of disappointment, and whenever something does happen, you can only be pleasantly surprised. That's what I do. After having been a fan of this band for so long, that's the only way to do it really.

  18. "Gee, I wish Buckethead was still in GNR!" "Oh aye, why that pal? Big into buckets, yellow rain coats, and white masks like?" "No, I just loved how Axl took apart his solos and reconstructed them in his vision on songs overdubbed with loads of other guitar players." "Righto but doesn't that mean the song likely sounds fuck all like what Buckethead played on originally?" "Aye, but Axl's vision man." "Righto ya donkey!"

  19. When have GNR's social media ever delivered on anything that the fans have interpreted as teasers/promises? The answer is never. Shit will happen when it'll happen. No point in paying any attention to GNR's Twitter/FB posts, because you're more likely to get legit news about the band from a Swedish television show than anything they put up online themselves.

  20. Just go listen to a Buckethead album man, seriously! The dude was in GNR for a few years, played a handful of shows, and appeared on a single album a few years after he left. I love Deep Purple, but I don't 'expect' years old Tommy Bolin solos to appear on their next album! I'm all for niche lineup appreciation, but there is a time to let it go. I understand the love for Buckethead's playing, but he has enough material out there to feast on for years. He has not been involved in this band for 20 years nearly.

  22. I'd say the forum fanbases have shown more contempt for the band over the years than the band has ever shown us

  28. One day in spring 1997 I went to my usual newsstand and bought one of many Italian rock magazines I used to read back then. My heart literally skipped a beat when I opened it and the very first page included an "Exclusive!!" review of a new Guns N'Roses album supposedly titled 'Your Dreams Come True'. I went through it line by line in pure excitement, already fantasizing about these new song titles, most of them kinda funny. The story behind the "surprise" release, as explained in the article, seemed strange to say the least. Then my heart definitely sank when I went to page 17 (as suggested by the end of the review) and found out it was nothing but an April's fool joke. I retrieved that magazine earlier today and roughly translated that fake review to English so you can have a laugh (or shed a tear thinking "what if we actually had such an album in 97..."). I'd like to add a scan of the original version too, but I have no clue how I can attach an image on here Have any insiders seen 'Funk The Punk' in some secret songlist?

  29. Jason, I was kind of waiting on your to post something on your thoughts about this show b/c you have seen them several times on this leag and I hadn't seen them since St. Louis in 2017. But, I completely agree with what you've said here. I honestly think this is the best Axl show and show in general of the 5 I've now seen since 2016. Axl was avery active, all over the place on stage, really did not see that in any of the other shows I had been too (again from 2016 on). I heard rasp in some songs I hadn't heard in some time and did not once have a cringeworthy moment of vox that I usually hear in a few songs. NR particularly stood out as a song that I thought AXL had not done well in some time and was great. Estranged was mesmerizing. I could go on, but I won't. I went with 3 casuals and they were all terribly impressed and said it was one of the better shows they had seen in some time in general (covid aside). So glad they talked me into going as I had zero interest in going to this one originally.

  32. I think Axl said something else about Rumble at the last show. I don't have the expertise to have an opinion, but there are several articles out there crediting Rumble for the use of power chords (even though most mention that they were used before). For example: https://guitar.fandom.com/wiki/Power_Chord https://blog.guitar-pro.com/2021/04/11-power-secrets-to-power-chords-guitar-tricks/ https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2005-nov-22-me-wray22-story.html

  33. Yeah. It was recorded in Munich, Germany in the week between my first GNR concert and my first MJ concert. 2 hours from where I live. Had I only known. I heard about them recording the video at the MJ show. And then I had to wait for 8 months until I finally got to see it. The agony. It's one of my most favourite MJ songs. Being an MJ fans since years at that point, getting into GNR in '91, having Slash show up on the Dangerous album and then at concerts and in videos... it just all alligned.

  34. I don't know about the best solo by Slash ever, because there are so many anazing ones. It sure is special, very moving. Here in Europe GITM was played a lot on MTV. I got a kick out of seeing Teddy and Gilby in the video as well. I'm still loving it!

  35. Ok, I’ll give you that. But you know what I’m getting at here. One single new (20 year old) song in 13 years, and the first featuring Slash, Axl and Duff in 30 years, yeah, I’d say that saying we’re starved fans, is pretty accurate.

  36. You describing Axl here? 🤣 Just a thing I forgot to say, MJ is guilty for my love for GNR. I heard about them, but did't take them for granted until I saw Slash mentioned on Dangerous CD... and after I saw BRAVO magazine with Slash - only then I connected dots and my discovery of GNR started...

  38. Buckethead isn't on this bit at the end. You're probably hearing the synths there. It's only the killswitch intro. They play it live as a sample, even though Richard could play it with no issues.

  40. It's better, compare You Could Be Mine. At the first shows he usually dropped lines, now he's not doing it anymore. I really think it's improving.

  44. I heard from some top secret underground insiders that they're playing a hybrid of "Rocket Queen" and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" titled "Knockin' On The Rocket Queen's Door" that's supposed to be around 2 hours long.

  45. Nope, sorry. I don’t want to admit this. Axl sounds beautiful and perfect and I have no idea how anyone can say otherwise.
