  1. Tonight was supposed to be me and my wife’s first show since the pandemic. Things looked very promising when we bought tickets in June. Since then the Covid situation has changed dramatically and we decided it's not safe to go. If you go you do gamble with your health and I will never do that. I wish GN'R would care about the health and safety of the people going to their concerts. I haven't even mentioned the nightmare trying to get a refund. For those going to the show tonight and tomorrow, have fun and stay safe!

  2. Another show thread turned into a covid debate thread. Would rather see 3 pages of Hardschool is debuting tonight 😂

  3. If you're vaccinated but you're afraid to be around people who aren't, then that's your problem. What are people expecting GNR to do "on their end" to make people feel safer?

  4. GNR Lies design = GNR lies about new music all the fucking time = Hard School confirmed

  5. And I think there's as much truth to this as to your lists with KOHD ("99 vocals"). The music sites (Rolling Stone, etc.) had reported about that at the time.

  6. Summerfest in Milwaukee is the same. We're fully vaccinated and know the gamble going to events, but being locked in most of last year, I needed shows and games to clear my mind. I'm on the road 50% of the year for work and have been in front of one customer in the last 18 months. It's a choice and I fully understand people not going. So far, this tour has gone off without a hitch, other than Wolfie's crew member. With possible lockdowns coming again, I'm going to these shows and am on my way to a college football game tonight. We're smart about it...not hanging in the huge crowds, have our masks with us, etc, but I need these events at this point.

  7. If they're going to attempt to retroactively cancel people like Steven Tyler and Axl Rose, I sure hope they're ready to also retroactively cancel nearly every entertainer in the history of music and movies.

  8. [Not to derail this thread but...] Sorry to hear that, but to blame GnR for public health concerns? What about the millions of vaccinated people who are looking for a mental health escape after nearly 2 years o this shite and have done their bit? Sure they could limit crowds to only vax'd (not sure how that works in the US, i'm in the UK), but it's the unvaccinated and uneducated that are to blame if anyone, not a band just tryna put on a tour.

  9. Shit you have to miss the concert, but it's only a concert. If you don't feel safe, it's 100 per cent the right thing to do. I'm pretty much the same as you - I'm not going to concerts at the moment because of the rising rates, lack of safety measures and general stupidity/selfishness of the public in my country. Pisses me off too, but there we go. We live in pretty moronic times. There will doubtless be other opportunities to see the band (probably do exactly the same set!) so don't even think twice. Good luck with the baby!

  10. And this is exactly why this whole "it's a personal choice" gibberish is just fucking bullshit. Sorry you have to miss the show cause of unvaccinated idiots.

  11. So there are lots of stories about lots of other big names but they can’t tell us about them - only (it seems) about the already known Axl and Steven Tyler stories, yet again. How is that helping to bring anything to light in this industry? Just fucking go for it and tell us the other shit we don’t know. If it’s the truth how can it be squashed by power and money? It didn’t help Weinstein in the end.

  12. In today's world, I think he's one campaign away from a cancellation. I think that's why he publicly embraces left wing politics and anti-Trump etc. He wants to associate with that side of the fence to reduce the risk of being targeted. It wasn't long ago he attacked the moderator of this site with a misogynistic, homophobic rant which included slurs such as: loud mouthed, arrogant c*nt angry lesbian ho defenders bitch bois I think he's incredibly lucky Madison didn't go to the press with that, and I think it would be a story of interest today.

  13. You just can't escape it, even people who want to bring out "the truth" about such things they have to lie and make up shit to prove their point. Totally unneeded and hurts the credibility too

  14. Golden era rockstars are like teflon when it comes to cancellation. I think it's partly because they've always been upfront about the sex, drugs and R&R and it's what people expected of them in their prime and sometimes beyond. Look at what Bill Wyman got away with! I think the only way it becomes a serious issue for any of them right now is if recent allegations get made rather than the shit they got up to at 25. Even then I'm not sure how much appetite there is for taking down rockers. In a weird way it might be because they don't hold institutional power like politicians, studio execs etc...they're rich and famous but other than that loads of them are just ex addicts and fuck ups.

  15. @Blackstar below has summarised it. I’d add that the person was also calling out Duff for his part In it too (for apparently asking for the charges to be dropped way back when etc). Nothing has been heard of since. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Cheers - much more succinctly put than I would have. 🤣

  16. They rehearsed it in Vegas, which was after LA. We don't have information about the soundchecks after that, so we don't really know if they have rehearsed it or not.

  17. I’d be amazed if any of this led to a major fallout….unless there is a shocking revelation. There were allegations against Axl on this forum about 1.5 years ago and that didn’t go anywhere where it was supposed to be getting taken forward by legal representatives for the person. The 70s/80s rock scenes are legendary and you could film a 300 episode 2 hr series on the debauchery. But that’s the thing - debauchery can be different to the type of abuse which Manson has been accused of.

  18. They wouldn't be still rehearsing it if that was the case.

  19. Speaks volumes about the so called "vaccination", doesn't it? Seems to be more of a medicine to ease symptoms once you catch it, as an actual vaccine should provide actual immunity. Situation still sucks either way, for everyone. Those afraid of the experimental vaccine or unable to take the risk due to their personal health condition get socially bashed and pressured, and those who trust the government, take the risk and take the vaccine end up in a situation still far from freedom regardless. Divide and conquer, living in fear and frustation, it's all just politics. You made the right decision to put the safety of your family first, I'm sure you will get a chance to see GNR some other time, Good luck with the refund and all the best to you and your family.

  26. I think he did yeah. Who knows if the stuff against Josh Homme is true or not.....but that doesn't usually matter in the world of 'cancel culture'. Either way, as you say, it's a mess, and I'm surprised more people haven't latched onto it.

  27. So - we have a documentary wheeling out an already known story covered in the press/in an autobiography? If there is unknown stories then absolutely fair doos - let people tell them but to regurgitate stuff which was already in the press (and if memory serves….this story actually was wheeled out already during the #metoo movement) doesn’t exactly bode well for any kind of quality documentary. Axls relationships (and the apparent volatility within them) have been WELL documented in media over the decades….so this is not new stuff. Of course unless there is stuff we haven’t heard.

  29. I genuinely haven't enjoyed a new record this much since The Strokes' 'The New Abnormal'. It's a treat from start to finish. I'll be giving it another play later I imagine! I am a big fan of George Michael's Patience album, with the two standouts being Amazing and Flawless (Go to the City). It's a travesty that it was never pressed on vinyl, but a promo for Flawless was, so that arrived today along with a few others. I've still got a lot of listening to do! I also picked up Songs for Slim and For Sale - Live at Maxwell's by The Replacements.

  30. I don't think things have changed that much since 2010. For example, in that same year Slash had made a comment in jest about the riff on MJ's Black Or White being "gay," and then he retracted after some negative comments. But in Axl's case I guess he was just being "Axl" as far as the press was concerned. Plus, Axl is the singer of a band that still performs a song that contains the lyrics "turn around bitch/I got a use for you" every night.

  31. I bought the new Kacey Musgraves yesterday and I was so stoked to spin it. Then we went through so many other records last night that we didn't even get to it lol. New video is premiering right now. It's a lengthy one. I meant for it to be about 5 minutes lol

  33. Yes, maybe because the documentary focuses on rock stars exploiting underage girls, and 18 is just close. Unless she told them herself she was 18 then - which would be curious, since in her book she stresses that she doesn't lie about her age.

  34. Sounds intentional to me to make the story more "dramatic" by making her 18, when they were both 25 at least.

  35. In fairness, the alt-right's adopted definition of "red pilled" is a pretty recent development that I'd imagine is pretty far removed from the Wachowskis' original idea.

  37. Yes, Pitman said that Axl already had the chord progression: Pitman: The funniest instance of us doing stuff, I was up at [Axl's] house for about a week or two and I was setting up... you know, because I'd worked with a couple of film scores before and they set up, back then, these rack mounted samplers like Kurzweil and EMU and you had your kind of fake orchestra with synthesizers. You know, one would be the strings, one with brass, and so on and so forth. And I was setting that up for him and he came out, I'm just going, "Okay, now this module here we're going to use this for brass instruments and here you have horns," and he was, you know, he was playing while I was switching the sounds. And I switched the sound to a French horn sound and he was playing this chord progression and I went to another sound he goes, "Oh, go back to that one," and we went back into French horn sound. And he kept playing his progression and it sounded really cool. And I turned around, turned on the tape machine and that ended up being, and you can hear it today, the very intro of the song called Madagascar. [...] And that's just how that evolved and he just had this chord progression and all of a sudden it married with the French horn and it was a super moody song and that was the start of that song. And actually we recorded it really quickly up there in his house. And he just sang unbelievably on that. Great song. https://www.a-4-d.com/t5843-2008-11-08-talking-metal-podcast-interview-with-chris-pitman
