  1. Casting away pyro cuts down on material and labor costs, can give the show more of a natural flow, lessens the hassle of dealing with legal/permitting issues, and is an overall safer approach.

It makes sense to me as to why they're not using it.

The US has reached 1 million deaths due to covid.

CNN had the numbers going up again.  I didn't think Covid would go away fast, but I was hoping it wouldn't last this long either.

China still shut down and prices are way up for gas and food. I think Texas gas is now over $4.00 a gallon. Luckily I work from home and my parents don't go out much. Pretty soon we may have to fast from eating for a day or so. Crazy times for all of us.

Hmm. You’re in a perpetual loop of paranoia and fear.

  3. I think he sounded fine. He used a soft rasp on parts of Sweet Child, which I think he should explore a bit more as it's a better-sounding alternative to "Mickey". The majority of the comments that I've seen from the public have been positive (about 70/30). His guest appearances are usually a win for him (i.e. It's So Easy with the Foo Fighters). Also, he typically sounds better when he's not performing with Guns N' Roses, so it is what it is.

Well. His first one is great. The others not so much.

I vehemently disagree. "Kicking & Screaming" and "Give 'Em Hell" are fantastic metal records. The guitar tracks and production are very well done.  "Bring 'Em Bach Alive!" on the other hand...is barely a record. "Angel Down" just sounds outdated to me.

  5. If you really want to let go, just let go. I've been here since 2003, and I checked out a long time ago. However, Guns N' Roses were an integral part of my upbringing, and I will never forget that. They are a legendary band, and their music will live on indefinitely. They're much older now, and there has been a lot of wasted potential. In other ways, I have also been duly impressed (Axl's run with AC/DC deserves such mention). It is what is.

Agreed, and I love the 80’s albums. But by the 90’s, they became just a fantastic rock band. Those shows on their 1995 These Days tour are some of their very best.

I completely agree. I rarely watch their 80s bootlegs/listen to their music from that era. The 1990s is really when Bon Jovi became a formidable force in both songwriting and showmanship. From 1992-1996, their energy and musicianship was just from another planet.

Wrong. The best piano parts were done by Axl. Estranged, 14 Years, Yesterdays and so on. I'm pretty sure Axl also wrote Dust N' Bones and Locomotive piano stuff, but he let Dizzy play on these tracks.

There's a stark difference between being proficient at composition and being a good player. These are two distinct skills. Some musicians can do both well, but that is not always the case. Axl is clearly a great songwriter on the piano. However, he was smart enough to let Dizzy take these parts as Dizzy is a much more technical piano player. This doesn't mean that Dizzy would have been able to write those songs though.

  8. If this was approved by the band but not officially promoted by its various marketing platforms, it wouldn’t be so bad.

However, seeing their social media accounts push this product is just weird. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again...the band could release short EPs in a semi-consistent manner and the fan base would be satisfied. It’s not prudent to promote this sort of thing when there’s no new music in sight.

I am fed up with all of these horrible ''celebrities'' with their webcams, demonstrating tips on ''coping with'' isolation with little exercise videos and so forth. Why don't they all just fuck off.

They are doing what they've always done...to entertain and to draw attention to themselves. You can choose not to watch them. My friends and I are doing similar things—the only difference being, we're not public figures. I suppose we're held to different standards.

Having said that...I refuse to watch Gal Gadot's Imagine video.

As someone born in 1989, I can confirm that I don’t know what GnR is.

I was also born in 1989. Who's Nuns N' Doses? Don't they play with that fuzzy haired guy...Stash? I understand the truth now. Had I been born in 1988 or before, I would have been endowed with infinite wisdom.

Interesting when Axl says their band is a political statement. Now, GN'R isn't political band but they've definitely picked a side, and that side being Liberal. I can't support GN'R in that aspect but at least they don't normally bring it to the show or do they?.......

You completely missed the point of what Axl said. He made an analogy that compared how bands each have a "brand" or style in a similar fashion to how political parties are each represented by an ideology. It was an analogy and not a political statement of any sort.
