Iconic guitar - always loved that faded sunburst look, way better than polished. And this guitar created so many of those killer tones on the Illusions tour

Any cover after this is futile

Track list and guest spots could’ve been better. Would’ve actually preferred a blues album with 1 band

So I’m epically late to the party, seeing I hardly post these days, and just lurk around from time to time. But it’d love to hear these tracks now, and not wait until an eventual release…

Paul was the best drummer in The Beatles, don't you know?
(No disrespect intended towards Ringo, who was good in his own right).
Any reputable drummer will tell you Ringo seriously underrated - but if you know, you know

Best thing they can do with Abrusb is get the verse lyrics back in synch with the music! I actually really like the Prodigy / punk vibe of the track and the mix but the delay really grates my ears

That intro gives me chills every time I hear it.
Especially that fragment of 1:05
I just listened to WTTJ from Rock Am Ring 2006. First time in a long time. For the majority, his voice was superb that night

Agreed - was awesome. Harmonica takes that song up a level too

If someone told me back in 2016 that after 7 years of touring the globe together all we’d have is a few CD rehashes, a SMKC album and another SMKC in the works, I’d have believed them

Definitely better … in your opinion. I love Axl singing “you’re all alone” while Finck’s initial bend comes in. That part was retained in the studio release. The rest of the solo is good, but I think Slash’s fits the song better. And I think Slash’s solo is just better overall. Finck’s doesn’t really do much.
Edit: When I say Slash’s solo fits the song better, I mean in the studio release. Because the guitar riff and bass are groovier in the verses. The solo matches that vibe. The demo we heard with Finck’s solo has a screaming guitar licks in the verses. Which is cool and ends up being bolstered by a similar solo as he goes into the bends.
If they were going to keep anything from Robin, it should’ve been those guitar bend licks in the pre-choruses. They really added to the track and would’ve sounded great alongside the ascending synth lines that replaced them

Quite a few on this forum complain when Slash noodles. Now they complain when he does an understated solo that fits the song 🤷🏻♂️

If truth be known, Robin got sloppy seconds. Slash just coming back to check the job was done

UYI had lots of epic songs without Izzy's songwriting. November Rain, Breakdown and Estranged for example. I would say those sound very much like GnR
I get your point, and it’s well received. But I said ‘struggle’ not ‘can’t’
Not so easy for them to just write another November Rain or Estranged. That’s the point

Maybe without Izzy they struggle to write anything of note than sounds like GNR. A MKATC album with Axl vocals ain’t GNR. And it isn’t a coincidence they released an album of covers after Izz left.
Just a thought….

It’s decent enough. But very worrying. In 7 (or however many long) years touring they couldn’t write and release a single new song together. Is it writers block? Lack of inspiration? Fear? Or just laziness? Who knows.
Yesterdays as a single was more inspiring than this. GNR DNA all over it and the video was cool as

Don’t really care how they release it. I’m more concerned that the (admittedly terrible) audio we have gives the impression the new track is 100% more bland than the demo

A little miffed they didn’t recreate the less polished cherry sunburst look of the guitar. The original only faded to a honey burst look over time
