Shit! Sebastian baching track now! I guess that's why he's not invited for Michelle these days!
It is the bass player, on his left, singing backup vocals. You can see (and hear) it very clearly.

I was ready to hate the new video, but I actually like it! It looks cool I like the transitions between the AI graphics and live footage. The whole video matches the song pretty well.
It might look dated in a few years, when everyone will be doing these kind of videos, but now it looks fresh and pretty rad, actually. In my opinion, anyways.

Wasn't excited at all when they put out the Instagram clip, but I changed my mind. I actually like the video. It's cool.
It will propably look super dated in a few years, because everyone will be doing this, but now it looks cool

To me, AI art (be it music, paintings, poems, whatever) is all about the end result, whereas art made with your own hands is about the journey of honing your craft. The joy of doing, instead of instant gratification.
Being fast and pumping out content, which to me seems to be the main sentiment that AI promotes, is not the point of making art.
I'm not saying you can't make art with AI, it's just that I think something crucial gets lost in the process. But that's just me. I might change my mind someday, who knows.

Slash used open C# on Beggars and Hangers-On, but if you don't count that as a dropped tuning, Slither is the first song where he used a dropped tuning. Also, Headspace and Superhuman from Contraband are in drop D.
As for Guns N' Roses songs, Chinese Democracy and Sorry are played in drop D. At least, I remember seeing a rig rundown video with Fortus, where he said they use drop D on Sorry. Better and Scraped are in drop C#. Shackler's Revenge is in drop B.

Nice
I never clicked with Tenderness, but Lighthouse is a great record, in my opinion. Nice to see the record and him and the band getting more exposure!- 3

Asked this in the other thread but i feel like it might be better to check here: is the astering on the Perhaps CD the same as the digital releases or did they adjust anything?
They didn't adjust a thing. It's the same mastering. The volume difference between Perhaps and the General sounds really jarring when listening them back to back. Amateurish, really.

The General being louder than Perhaps is really jarring when listening the CD.
Amazing incompetence once again.

Each of the vocal melodies stick to your head, so that's cool and the composition is dark and epic, which I like, but using "the same lyrics on both verses" -schtick again is really lame. Lyrically the song is just spinning its' wheels. Doesn't really go anywhere.
And it is laughable that a band this huge releases songs mixed and mastered this poorly. There's no excuses for that. Even hobbyists release better sounding products these days.
All in all, a cool little ditty, but this could've a much better song. Now it sounds half-baked.

Nine Inch Nails and Black Sabbath come to mind first. I also hear a little bit of Korn on The General, those high single notes on the verses.

I think both Heard and Depp were just a bad, bad match for each other and it evolved into a mutually-abusive relationship. Bring alcohol and drugs into the mix and voilà!
I feel neither of them is innocent and neither of them is guilty. Some people just shouldn't be together.

Good song and a great performance, but to me Stockdale sounds just as "one note" as Myles. Not enough grit for my taste. But singers that have grit rarely can hit the high notes of Guns' songs, so I do understand why Slash wanted someone with a more cleaner, higher voice, like Myles. Who is a great and talented musician. His voice just doesn't click with me.

Guns two times. In 2010 and 2017.
Duff's Loaded once in 2009.
Had a ticket for a Velvet Revolver show in 2004, but I broke my foot and couldn't go. Still kicking myself over that sometimes. Especially, because I broke it, because I was drunk. So dumb.

My MacBook doesn't have a cd slot, my PS5 doesn't support, my car doesn't support, etc. Cheap CD player? Apple USB Superdrive?
I don't know what kind of external hardware options or extensions there are for Apple products, but maybe an external dvd-player for your Macbook? I use one for my desktop PC. Works like a charm. Mostly. All CD's work well, some older DVD's have some hiccups.
(I use still use CD's and DVD's pretty regularly. Makes me feel old sometimes, but they both are good formats. My favorite songs, shows and movies don't go *poof* because of some company's whim.)

I’m hoping some of the Perhaps CDs make it to eBay because the Japanese site isn’t taking my info. I really want one of them

That font was really cool! I can't quite explain it in words, but it had this mystical aura.

They were pretty much static the whole song, what are you on about?😂
Just my interpretation of what I watched. One doesn't have to swirl around like a spaz to "rock out".

It's pretty cool to see Slash (and Duff too obviously) rocking out while playing The General
What a surreal sentence to write.

To my ears, Monsters is definitely Slash on lead. Without doubt.
The General on the other hand doesn't sound like him at all. To me. The General, in general, sounds more low quality than Monsters, so I think it might be an older Slash-less demo. Not implying that Monsters is an updated version of The General, because they clearly are different songs.

Is it true that these are only demos? How do you know?
Obviously I don't know for sure, but to me these sound like demos. The compositions themselves are good, but the mix on both songs is muddy and all over the place. There's no way these are final versions.

Get well, Reese!

Get Duff on it!
This ☝️ was uploaded on Duff's Youtube page yesterday. Hysterically ironic timing.

There is no way it won't be streamable. I mean, sure, it might be possible that it's not the official version we will be streaming, but there will be dozens of rips on Youtube.
The "New Album" Thread. Thanks to the long ass thread, I’m going home!

I'm always eager to hear new Guns N' Roses songs, but after hearing how organic and lively Duff's new album and Slash's new blues stuff sound, I'm not that excited to hear those Nu-Guns -era songs anymore. They're cool compositions and nice things to have, but they do sound kind of stale in comparison to examples mentioned above.
