  1. To me, AI art (be it music, paintings, poems, whatever) is all about the end result, whereas art made with your own hands is about the journey of honing your craft. The joy of doing, instead of instant gratification.

Being fast and pumping out content, which to me seems to be the main sentiment that AI promotes, is not the point of making art.

I'm not saying you can't make art with AI, it's just that I think something crucial gets lost in the process. But that's just me. I might change my mind someday, who knows.

  2. Slash used open C# on Beggars and Hangers-On, but if you don't count that as a dropped tuning, Slither is the first song where he used a dropped tuning. Also, Headspace and Superhuman from Contraband are in drop D.

As for Guns N' Roses songs, Chinese Democracy and Sorry are played in drop D. At least, I remember seeing a rig rundown video with Fortus, where he said they use drop D on Sorry. Better and Scraped are in drop C#. Shackler's Revenge is in drop B.

Asked this in the other thread but i feel like it might be better to check here: is the astering on the Perhaps CD the same as the digital releases or did they adjust anything?

They didn't adjust a thing. It's the same mastering. The volume difference between Perhaps and the General sounds really jarring when listening them back to back. Amateurish, really.

  4. I think both Heard and Depp were just a bad, bad match for each other and it evolved into a mutually-abusive relationship. Bring alcohol and drugs into the mix and voilà!

I feel neither of them is innocent and neither of them is guilty. Some people just shouldn't be together.

  5. Good song and a great performance, but to me Stockdale sounds just as "one note" as Myles. Not enough grit for my taste. But singers that have grit rarely can hit the high notes of Guns' songs, so I do understand why Slash wanted someone with a more cleaner, higher voice, like Myles. Who is a great and talented musician. His voice just doesn't click with me.

My MacBook doesn't have a cd slot, my PS5 doesn't support, my car doesn't support, etc. Cheap CD player? Apple USB Superdrive?

I don't know what kind of external hardware options or extensions there are for Apple products, but maybe an external dvd-player for your Macbook? I use one for my desktop PC. Works like a charm. Mostly. All CD's work well, some older DVD's have some hiccups.

(I use still use CD's and DVD's pretty regularly. Makes me feel old sometimes, but they both are good formats. My favorite songs, shows and movies don't go *poof* because of some company's whim.)

  7. To my ears, Monsters is definitely Slash on lead. Without doubt.

The General on the other hand doesn't sound like him at all. To me. The General, in general, sounds more low quality than Monsters, so I think it might be an older Slash-less demo. Not implying that Monsters is an updated version of The General, because they clearly are different songs.
