I wish we could have YCBM done in the style of Shackler’s Revenge verses.
That would be sweet

The band is a little less than the sum of its' parts, but I don't actually mind. Seen them live once. It was an okay show. Definitely more fun than not.
I like their original songs too. And while the band doesn't blow any minds, it's still Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, so definitely not boring. Not great, but not boring.

As a person who is really concerned about climate change and the future of Earth, that looks seriously disturbing and wrong.
As a rock/art/performance/music fan, that looks fucking amazing.

Since its part of the setlist now, when did the Blues become Street of Dreams? Was it when Chinese Democracy released? Was it still the Blues on the 2006-07 tours?
If I remember correctly, it was called The Blues all the way until they released the tracklisting of Chinese Democracy, in the fall or late summer of 2008, and it was dubbed Street of Dreams. Never really liked that name change. "The Blues" sounds so simple and straightforward, iconic even, whereas "Street of Dreams" sounds a bit too... blah, I guess. It's a bit too try-hardish name.

Going to check this album out.
Never actually listened to them that much, but I've always liked Phil Lewis' voice.

Maybe but his look wasn't really too happy. I'm not sure if it was annoyance. I don't think it was. The camera shot, though, just seemed like he wasn't happy.
To me it looked like he was counting and/or listening to the drums and trying to just play the song and listening for changes. Nothing weird in my opinion.

Or am i reading too much into 1 performance
Slash was playing SOD for the first time live and Duff probably isn't too familiar with the song either, compared to Axl, Richard, Dizzy and Frank who have played the song countless times. So it does make sense that they might concentrate on their playing more than usual, which in turn comes off as a bit more reserved body language. And on other songs (like Nightrain) they don't look bored or annoyed at all.
People have speculated that the whole thing is coming to an end, since the second leg of Not in This Lifetime -tour, but I honestly think they will carry on until Axl himself feels he can't sing anymore.- 5

I don't know if you could say it's my favorite thing about him, but I've been always able to relate to him, because he seems to be both an asshole and a nice guy, depending on the day. Unlike most rock stars who try to project a premeditated image, Axl has always seemed to be honest about who he is.
I also like that he doesn't whore himself on social media. Or on any other media, for that matter.

I think the best choice could be this approach everytime he can... just the first seconds here for example
For the life of me, I don't get it why he ditched that low voice -approach for the bridge on Slither. It sounds sooo good. I mean, fuck the rasp. If he can't do it these days, then he can't. Totally understandable. But there is no excuse to not use that powerful low voice, when it sounds that good. They could play old songs, which are sung in lower register, like Bad Obsession, transpose vocal melodies on other songs a bit (octave lower or singing like a harmony-type of version of the melody, like Ozzy did with Black Sabbath during their later days) and write new songs that utilize his current vocal form.
And I do think he sounds okay with his clean voice and falsetto and I don't want to just bitch about things, but it's kind of bummer that those songs sound a bit iffy, when they could potentially sound much more powerful with that low voice.

Yes, Meegan went home! Wohoo! She is so annoying on stage. "Look at me, I have my own chair here! Yeaah babyy!" Slash is certainly relieved and feels free. I hope he has good sex this weekend.
That's awkwardly aggressive...

To be fair, if I were in Sweden I could think a lot of other stuff to do instead of seeing a Gn'R show. Especially if I would have seen, like, dozens and dozens of them.

Oh WTF with military time? Is that 10:00? And 3:00 central US time?
Here in Nordic countries we don't use that AM and PM stuff. 10:00 is in the morning and 22:00 is in the evening
So yes, that's 10:00 PM. Don't have a glue about US timezones, though

Nice theory but Slash changes guitars between those songs anyway.
He does? Whoops...

They're both played in drop D tuning, instead of E flat tuning, which is the tuning of most Gn'R songs, so it's probably more of a convenience thing, meaning not having to change guitars after one song. Which doesn't take too much time, though, obviously, but it would kinda break the flow of high energy songs. And I guess they just dig how they go back to back.
And no matter what anyone says, after six years of this reunion it's still cool to hear them play Velvet Revolver songs and Chinese Democracy songs, in my opinion.

Each of them makes enough money to pay the whole crew and equipment on their own.
I think they just got lazy with everything
Or they wanted to make songs more groovy and flow-y. I don't know. It would all add up, though. Them apparently losing click tracks, ditching the pyro and Frank suddenly locking better with Slash and Duff.

are lights- and screens animation linked to click tracks too?
It makes sense that they would be, if they would use a click track. But it's not a necessity, obviously.
With pyro, being dangerous and all, it is a different ball game. Last week I listened to a recording of what goes on in the in-ear-monitors of KISS members during shows and they have vocal cues, where there is a voice guiding them, saying things like "verse in four, three, two, one" and then they sing the verse. Something similar would probably go on with pyros. To remind the band when the pyros are about to go on, so they know not to stand near them. And if you don't use a click track, you obviously can't have those pyro cues. I guess, it is a safety and insurance thing. No click tracks, no pyros.
This is pure speculation, though

I remember someone speculated that they got rid of the pyro, because they stopped using click tracks.
Have know idea if it's true or not, though.

According to Duff, Axl does 1.5-hour warm-ups and warm-downs before every single show. Whether we believe it or not, he definitely does some vocal exercise, so I don't think the needs an extra 3-minute song to lube up or whatever. But yeah, he's been known to generally have used first gigs of tour legs as public rehearsals, no doubts.
Yeah, that was just my own speculation. Like maybe it gets him confident and into the zone, because it's one of the more pleasant/easier songs to sing and because doing warm-ups (which I'm sure he does) is still different than taking the stage and performing and getting the energy going
But like I said, just my own speculation

And ISE probably lubes Axl's voice and gets him warmed up vocally. I don't obviously know for sure, but I guess that could be one of the reasons they keep it as an opener.

I guess this might be a strange concept for some, but the setlist is put together for the crowd at the actual show, not for us creeps on the internet.
And for that, for entertaining, it is a damn fine setlist! They have something for everyone, whether you're a casual or a hardcore fan.
I mean, it covers every era of the band. From Hollywood Rose -days to AFD to Lies to UYI to Velvet Revolver to Chinese Democracy to Axl's stint in AC/DC to new reunion songs.
It's an amazing setlist, when you think about. A huge retrospective of their whole career.

Are the Big Three interested in writing new songs together? And if they are, how would they approach it? Jamming acoustic or electric? What would the process be like?
