The funny thing is, it doesn't sound like that in person. Recordings make it sound like he's just meekly squeaking out a thin sound, and that's all the phone and camera mics pick up, but hearing it straight from the PA, you can tell how much air he's actually pushing out physically.

It was a brilliant choice to start with mostly lower range songs. It really allowed him to warm up to his higher register later in the set. What can you say about Slash? He was very good. This kinda ruins future gig reviews for me. I'll see people complain about bad sets and I can only go by the one I saw in person, which was pretty amazing.
