  1. Well, nothing new. Slash and Duff had already confirmed they’re working on new music a hundred times before. What would  be really exciting is to know when it’s coming...but I’m guessing they won’t announce anything beforehand, it will just come out and that’s it - as most artists do these days.

I loved that she mentioned Peaky Blinders as I’m watching it during this quarantine. Not only the show is great, but the soundtrack is killer! If anyone is looking for something to watch...

  2. Myles voice is annoying and I don’t care if he’s technically great or not. For me, it lacks originality, it’s generic, there’s no emotion. But I do think it’s pretty cool that the guy is always prepared, he’s consistent and you always know what you’ll get.

I love Slash to pieces and Snakepit has great songs. He’s still great and the best part of the GNR show.

IMHO the thing with new material, not only Slash’s but older musicians in general, is the lack of inspiration in the newer songs. I don’t know what it is, maybe as everything else in life creativity doesn’t last forever, doesn’t stay at the same level. There’s only a few artists that are still as great as ever.

  3. This os how I see it: When this whole thing first started, they didn’t know where it would go, but they were open to possibilities - specially Slash has said that a few times. As they started rehearsing and everything was going well, they realized they were having fun and enjoying each other’s company. It seems to me that that’s why Izzy never showed up to rehearsals, because he saw that this could be a much bigger thing, not just a few reunion shows, and that’s not for him.

What he does with his career is proof of that, he plays and records music for fun, he’s not interested in the industry and the responsabilities of being in one of the biggest tours bla bla bla. And that’s fine, people have different lifestyles and goals in life, he’s not a looser because of that, it’s quite the opposite. He made a brave choice decades ago when he chose to step back, I admire him for that, some musicians hate what they do and they just don’t have the courage to admit that and do something else because fame and money are very addictive.

Maybe if they had offered him more money, he would have said yes, because I’m sure it would help with his retirement in the future. We don’t know how smart he was with his money, but I’m sure a few extra millions in his bank account wouldn’t hurt. But since the tour became much bigger, maybe that was a price he wasn’t keen to pay.

I’m a big fan of the guy, but it would be sad for me if he did the first run of the NITLT and then disappeared again. I like that the reunion became a permanent thing and they’re working on new music. If Izzy showed up to play a whole show with them as a one night thing, I would be really happy.

Metallica considered By Request a let down because most shows resulted in the same popular songs getting voted for every time.

A GNR By Request tour would be the same level of disappointment.

Exactly. We would only get the perfect setlist if the band played a show exclusively for members of their fan club (or something like that) and the fans could choose the songs.

Seriously, a good start would be if they would mix up the order of the songs each night a little bit even if they play the exact same songs each show.

Second, they should delete all those ridiculous background videos with immediate effect. I think they are another reason why there is zero improvisation in the setlist and no song can make the setlist at short notice. „Hey guys, lets play Dead Horse tonight. I think we can do it.“ „Cool. Great idea ... but wait a minute ... we cannot do it. We need a video with a burning horse first.“  „Damn you’re right right. Then let us just play ... got it, Welcome to the Jungle.“

Really, no offense but those videos are just so american anyways and are obviously just meant to please the american average Joe who is asking for an „entertaining show“. I think you know what I mean.

In Europe no one expects such bullshit animations, at least in terms of a rockband. Its more like: set up the stage and get the goddamn band on to just blow the roof ... just  like the UYI shows. They were pure even if they happened in the biggest arenas of the world. No we are talking a „show act“, nothing more and nothing less. And this is just sad because this „show act“ character could be banned easily by just showing a little bit intention to improvise.

The videos are so cheesy, looks like a powerpoint presentation some intern did. Also it’s so literal, it’s not even something creative/interesting/cool. Like, for Dead Horse, let’s have a horse video! 🙄

Dozens of times since the late 90’s there have been band members saying there’s new music coming, only for nothing to surface (save for Chinese in 2008). Even when Axl himself says new music is coming it doesn’t. Let alone Fortus, who’s outright been wrong about that almost every year he’s been in the band (again, save for 2008). Band members saying new music =/= new music.

What I would want is actual communication from the band. Maybe a press conference, a interview with Axl about a new album, him outlining the plans for 2020 at the last show, etc. A change in management wouldn’t hurt either after the disastrous issues we’ve been having with the copyrighted videos and the (perhaps coincidental) fact that NO songs or albums have materialized with TB. Believe it or not, the way GNR operates is not how a band of this magnitude usually does!

I’m not asking for the band to be as a reality show, I’m asking it to function as a band.

Exactly, because other stuff can get in the way and go south, and you can’t do nothing about it, but they already said they want to do it and we have proof that they’re doing it. Just wait and see!

They seem to be pretty happy with how everything is going, regarding new music and their management. If we don’t like it, that’s our problem, they won’t change it just because. If the band wants to release new music they will do it regardless. As far as I know, Fernando is not sitting in the studio writing songs, he hasn’t been promoted to band member yet, thank god. He can’t make Slash write a new riff or tell Axl to write new lyrics, so we have to trust the ones that are in charge of the new music: the band. And again they said they want to do it and that they are doing it. If you’re just curious to hear from Axl, that’s a whole other story.

You are asking for something that not even pop stars do these days. Most of them just announce the album when everything is ready to go, take the fans by surprise. So let’s hope everything goes well and we get new music in the near future.

    Video/audio of the rehearsal

Its not personal! You’re a good guy. With how this band treats fans and from the lack of consistent information and updates on new music, it’s extremely hard for me not to be pessimistic or optimistic regarding the future of this band. I do apologize for the negativity.

What else do you want? A private preview of the new album? Duff, Slash and Fortus recently said on interviews repeatedly that they are working on new music. We know that Slash has been going to Axl’s house to record and his schedule is clear for the next year. HS has been on the alt setlist. They’re all getting along and happy.

If ultimately they don’t release anything it’s because it didn’t work, they think the material sucks, whatever, not because they didn’t work on it or were just having fun creating rumors about themselves.

Really, they won’t live stream their working days in the studio and give the fans daily updates, it’s not a reality show. Relax.

Hahaha those are the worst crushes.

I would love to see her singing something totally unexpected but I guess it would be cool if they could've perform a cover of Fiona Apple's Limp. The passive-agressive chorus would fit well with Axl, and Lana could sing the verses.

Limp is amazing, love Fiona! BTW Lana’s new album is also great. But I’m wondering what she would like to sing as a guest at their show (a GNR song)/ what would fit her voice. The two of them singing together would be pretty exotic hahah, I think she’d probably faint. LOL.

People are expecting an Izzy guest appearance because some banner that has his skull instead of Fortus’ :D

It’s not the first time someone confuses Izzy with Fortus.

At first I was trying to figure out who was Fortus and who was Dizzy, but I guess there was no Fortus. That’s funny. If he has any sense of humor he must have had a laugh.

I don't think it would look so bad for him, since other artists have been doing it and he is "famous" for that anyway

I don’t think he still wants to be known as the guy who used to do that kind of stuff, because that’s really pathetic. Much more convenient having someone to do it for you.

I think @BlueJean Baby posted it first, but I might be mistaken.

    Thanks!

That’s what I was talking about.

So, don’t you all think that taking the videos down looks like an Axl’s kind of decision? Just think about it for a second.

As I said before, sure TB doesn’t know how to handle the situations publicly because they’re personally involved with Axl, but IMO they’re clearly doing the dirty work and taking the blame for Axl.

When Axl didn't want fans with cameras at the shows, he was very vocal, as we all know, and there was a band policy about it.

So if that was the case with the fan filmed videos now, there could/would be a policy of banning cell phones. Other artists have done that, e.g. Jack White, and it would make more sense than allowing cell phones and taking the videos down afterwards.

That happened in the 1900s. It would look really bad for him to make that kind of demand in 2019. But apparently there is. Someone posted the other day something (I think it was a ticket or something) saying that streaming and recording was forbidden. If I’m not mistaken it’s on some of the latest shows thread.
