Just have a look at House of Blues 2001... any show from 2006 & 2010... or even Axl with AC/DC. Then look at yesterday's show. It's night and day. Maybe you haven't followed the band since the 90's and only cared about the reunion.

"that motivated since the 90's"...  Taco Bell motivation for sure. As for the rest, sorry but no. I can't help but wonder what kind of sandwiches he eats. What I'm sure is that it would take a lot more people than you... to eat this sandwich. Even with an iron stomach. More than you got to finish the plate.

I not only followed the band as I’ve to shows and I completely stand by what I said. What he had was a cove band trying to emulate the chemistry he had in the past with Duff and Slash. No wonder he only released one album during all the years.

  2. I completely disagree with a few people here. I don’t think that Axl is that motivated since the 90’s. Come on, the guy made amendments with his old budies, they made an amazing successful tour for the last 2,5 years. There’s peace and happiness in the GNR world and they are working on new material - Slash confirmed once again on Eddie Trunks show last week. They’re already doing it. I can’t really believe that there’s people comparing all that with the guy that has been working for over a decade with a bunch os hired hands with whom he never really felt comfortable to release new music. He was playing smaller places every tour, the critics would bash him all the time, outside of forums no one really care abou what he was doing. It really makes me laugh. They all seem to be having fun.

My only point is that the setlist could change a little to give us, the die hards, a treat. I’m sure the casuals are pretty happy as it is. The band is also pretty rich by now. I’m sure that if they were not enjoying they could just call it a day.

But as a fan I always want to see more of them - deep cuts, new material etc.

but being realistic, i would say only 15% of the audience would like to hear new stuff...the forum communities are superfans who don't represent the ticket buyers. gnr is a nostalgia act. the mainstream will hate silkworms.

Well, I agree that for the casual fan the setlist is amazing, all the hits are there. But they could throw us, the die hards, a bone! I don’t know how Slash’s setlist with Miles is, if they change often, but don’t they get bored playing the exact same songs in exact the same order for 3 years? There's so many songs they could play and all they do is change/add covers.

Last night was a fun show in a more  intimate setting .I had a great time as did my buddy’s but like others have stated it’s basically the same show for the last 3 years .I got slither (which went over great with the crowd and sounded solid ) shadow of your love and witchita lineman which I didn’t hear during previous 2 shows .What made this show a good experience for me was it’s setting .Having a chance to see Guns in a stripped down show was the only real reason I wanted to go .Having seen them over 10 times over a 30 year period I wouldn’t have attempted to go if show was at the forum or staples .The band sounded great Axl had his moments great and so so but overall he was pretty good and seemed to be in great spirits and more talkative then in recent past .The crowd seemed to eat it up and was lively though there was a lull during the later of half of set when things slow down considerably and a few parole made their way to exists but not many and most (probably 90%) stayed and were very involved .Idk or I doubt I’ll try and see them again not because it wasn’t a good show because eventually it reaches a saturation point .Just hoping for new music at some point

I’m watching the videos now and they sound great to me. Don’t know why there’s people bashing Axl, he did ok.

Axl’s new haircut looks really good.

I’m just disappointed about the same setlist, I’m hoping they change it for the next shows. It’s been 3 years, it’s getting boring like a predictable pop concert where you know exactly what’s going to happen.

  5. His hair looks fine, much better than that weird previous version that wasn’t long enough or short enough. That’s what happens when you’re old, hair just doesn’t grow that long. At least he is not bald.

But he really put on some weight, that’s bad.

I’ll check out the videos, could not resist the delay. Did he say anything about it?

Really disappointing there was no changes.

I don't believe so. Remember in that Chinese Exchange interview Axl said he brought his vocal coach on this tour (ACDC) that he hadn't worked with in 20 years

I think Axl has been working again with him not only for this ACDC tour. I believe he got Ron back for the GNR tour. Just check this tweet, its from April 2015:

Yeah they've been promoting it, just not as well as they should. I don't think there's any excuse not to do SOME press or interviews l, especially at this point. But we just got an interview from axl, duff and Frank so maybe they're starting to wake up.

    Where's this Frank a interview? I haven't seen it.

I'm not sure he said "surprise" but he mentioned them visiting him when he said they were getting along again. He was answering some guy's question and added that by the end of the answer but then host switched to another person so it stopped there.

I would have to watch it again to be able to point the exact minute when this happens.

    Thanks!

The interviewer is pretty annoying. I'll take a look again.

Axl mentioned something in the China Exchange interview but the asshole host cut him off, as usual! :anger:

Awww yes, now I understand why they didn't want to say anything about it!

Remember when that guy said he saw Duff in London and Duff "didn't know" where Axl was staying? He was faking it

Yeah, Duff's singing got really good! I've noticed and I wish he would sing that song in full on the GNR shows. Song is really beautiful.

When did he mention their surprise? What time?

    Can't remember that part.
