I’ve been thinking about this tour and purpose after buying Metlife tickets (this will be my 6th show since 2016). It’s sucks to see how negative everyone is, although I get it and agree with you all in principle.

That said, this whole scenario is a fucking shame. Someone said it best earlier - what a waste of talent and opportunity these last 27 years. Not just Axl was impacted - rest of the band didn't get a chance to live up to their potential and we missed out on some awesome music.

I still hope Axl will right this ship and these wrongs. Until then, I am still a fan and am happy to get a chance to see them again - warts and all.

Is it negativity or reality at this point? You know what you're getting. I think going in with false hopes of a different set, new music, or Axl sounding anything better than mickey shit is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I agree. If NITL finished after 2017 and then we got new music I think it would’ve been fine, but the fact that it’s 2020 and they don’t give a shit or care, and Axl has deteriorated into a shadow of a shadow of his former self, it’s time to throw in the towel. I wouldn’t be upset if they did a farewell tour soon. It’s so fucking over.

I've come to grips with it. It's a nostalgia act. Kudos to the guys for milking it this long. I'm never gonna fault an artist for taking advantage of dumb people. They've milked this cash cow excessively long with no end in sight. Remarkable business management.

They should just write a new album where Axl sings mainly in his low-to-mid register. Then tour with a setlist of new material plus a few older safe bets like Its So Easy, Brownstone, DTJ etc.

Coz these whiny Mickie versions of SCOM, NR, YCBM, Estranged etc are getting worse with every passing year. Besides, they’ve been absolutely toured to death the past 20 years.

Thats why this tour is so damn frustrating. We’ve already heard Axl struggle through these songs a million times already. And other than a few songs towards the beginning of the show - it gets a bit cringe to listen to. It’s basically the band carrying him at times. It’s high time to just get in the studio and stop beating the cash cow

The ballads are cringeworthy. It sounds like Herbert the Pervert from family guy with that shrill, nasaly falsetto.

A few songs are passable, but the entire GNR catalog was designed to be sung by a guy in his 20's with power to his voice. Not singling Axl out either - it is just as sad watching Motley Crue, or Bon Jovi, and most bands from that era try to perform songs that are just grossly out of their wheelhouse anymore.

  4. Don't mean to be a killjoy, but I can't fathom how anyone can listen to this and think it is anything short of abysmal.

I accept that it is probably the best he can do at this point - turning 58 this month.

But, they continue to sell out and make money, so who cares? When people are buying your garbage product, what motivation do you have to improve upon it if people are continuing to pour out money for it.

I was disappointed in '16, and can honestly say I haven't given GNR a dime since then.

  6. With vintage GNR he created a brand that was unsustainable over time. His vocals have relied on heavy screaming and power, and that's a lot easier to do in your 20s, 30s and even early 40s than it is in your 50s. The guy is pushing 60, and there's no "rasp" coming back. He is singing everything in a thin falsetto, because that's way out of his range.

It is what it is at this point. It's disappointing that a singer you like, and even once idolized basically sounds like a joke now, but let me try going to the karaoke bar when I turn 55 and try singing Sweet Child or something, it'll probably be just as dreadful.

I honestly didn't think there would be anyone on the planet with the slightest interest in hearing GnR cover Benny and the Jets.

I would rather hear a jazz infused, country style, acapella version of My World.

Lol, if it were with Elton maybe. I don't know. I'm sick of covers. I'm sick of Appetite. Sick of this life, not that you care....

Give me some new goddamn music. Tired of the old bullshit.
