Most folk on here are big enough marks of the band to know the significance of this tune. Even if they work somewhere that already has it physically instore, they'll also be aware what management are like... Not worth the risk.

Realised I started this thread years ago but haven't really added f**k all to it since Anyway, playing bass with this lot since last year. We've put a couple of singles out and done a few UK shows including Rebellion Festival in Blackpool. For fans of The Wildhearts, The Replacements, early Oasis, Slade, Husker Du.... Probably not doing any more shows this year but already got a good bit of material recorded and will be in the studio more over the next few months with a view to getting an EP out on wax next year. B side doesn't really mean that that it's gonna be shite. More that it's just not something that would work as a single.

As much as the song is anticipated amongst hardcore GN'R marks, it doesn't seem that The General will be the type of song that will get a load of radio play. Given the alleged subject matter and it being a bit less *accessible musically to the average listener, it'll most likely be one of those tunes that proper fans will love (maybe a bit like Coma) but you'd hardly ever hear it played on radio. * I appreciate that we've only heard some parts and not in great quality but it was enough to give the impression that it's not one of their more poppy offerings

Thing is, with "b sides" a lot of the time bands would put something a bit special or even experimental on there. The a side would be the actual "single" in that it would have a fairly immediate hook and would get decent radio play (these days more likely streams/views) whereas the b would be something that would be appreciated more by the hardcore fanbase.

See if it's shite...

Will withhold judgement until a decent quality version is available and I can listen with decent headphones.
