All Nightrain membership shirts look horrible and made with the cheapest material. I own one unfortunately.

Basically imagine those you buy to wear at home from 1-Dollar-All shops.

Are the shirts made out of that cheap material and if you've got even the SLIGHTEST gut, the fabric clings to it?

I don't know if it's a common thing but it seems like the current band has barely acknowledged this release on the current tour. Like play a rarity or make a cool intro video of concerts from that era or even do a retrospective interview. You can't expect people to care when it seems like the band itself doesn't care.

the appetite set was like that too wasn't it?

The school bell is lame. The bass intro is dope. The old intro was gratuitous. I don’t like the new drums. There was something far more venomous about the chorus in the old version. Somehow it’s poppier on the studio release. “Absurd” is badass.

My issue isn’t the songs but the production.

Speaking of Hard School, I never bought the CD single from the store. Is there a high res version I can purchase anywhere online?

Really? I thought Tokyo was shot on purpose for a home release by the band. Not TV station. AFAIK that show was never broadcasted in Japan TV like Argentina was.

This is a weird one because there are two versions of it. There's the one Geffen put out on home video then there's the TDK one (the Japanese company). They each have different angles in spots. I'm sure I'm missing some of the deeper facts around the show for sure. It's just how I remember it.

Munich '93 (and Estranged video) would look great when scanned in 4K but to be honest, we don't really know if they filmed the whole show throughuly or did they only film smaller fragments here and there to just get the atmosphere shots for the video. We know that most of the close-ups were filmed separately in a studio so it might be the case that we don't have the whole Munich show on film.

Cathouse '89 on the other hand might be similiar "Holy grail" as Ritz '91.
IIRC, they played full show there that was filmed in entirety for the It's So Easy video, so it's similiar case as the You Could Be Mine video shoot at Ritz. Cathouse gig had original lineup, apparently they were on fire AND it was shot on film. The ISE video they released for the AFD box looks amazing in HD.  Releasing Ritz '91 was great move - let's hope they would open the vault even more from now on.

So for AFD box they omitted the live stuff but we got lots of demos and for Illusion box we didn't get any demos but got lots of live footage. These fucking guys..

Long Beach Arena. WAY bigger than a studio :)

But yeah, I'd love to see these shows as well. There's so much more that could be released!

    Great seeing new stuff released..

I have watched some unboxing videos..

Not sure i want to part with cash given the price. The Vinyl option cost a bomb and the records themselves are in paper sleeves without plastic lining? ..the CD option seems the way to go, and cost almost half as much as the Vinyl option.

If i am honest, i wish they would release the Blu-ray on the live show on it's own :)

Ah1 You saw the same video I did!

Yeah, I'm learning more and more about vinyl and you REALLY have to do a lot to take care of it.

I like what's there but not as much as i wanted to. I thought the remasters were going to be very different sounding. There's so much they left off like the videos and demos. They didn't include the Don't Cry demo on the Appetite box set and it should have been included here and wasn't. It also makes me wonder why they were so insecure with their performances for Live Era that they felt they had to edit them togethere where here, here they are, warts and all.

So what`s the verdict on the remastered UIY albums?

I just listened to both of them on my best B&O headphones and I thought that somehow the remastered songs are a bit of a mixed bag. They sound more "clear" but not as "full", at times drums sound almost as annoying as on Metallica`s Death Magnetic.  I hardly ever use an equalizer when listening to music, but in order to enjoy the UYI remasters I had to put the EQ to "energize" -I guess that means at B&O  bass and highs up - about 20%. In neutral setting I kind of miss the punch, warmth and energy in some songs. Anyone has similar thoughts or some experts have something enlightening to contribute?

I didn't notice much of a difference to be honest. The new November Rain is a bit more louder and in your face. It's an interesting listen but I prefer the original version
