  1. Good lord, tickets got bloody expensive. Starting at 133CHF/ 142USD going all the way up to 220CHF /240USD. With the notable exception of an Eagles show, these are the highest prices I have ever seen for an Open Air / Stadium show around here. I guess Americans are already used to these prices for a long time.

If you are a Sunrise customer you can access the presale via Sunrise Moments.

  2. Was anybody from the forum actually there? I visited the show in SIN in 2017 and it was one of the worst organized shows I have ever been to.  Transportation sucked big time and the organizers were major crooks. One had to put money on some kind of non refundable festival credit card in advance. If you were dumb enough to do that you had to wait about 2-3 hours in front of a single beer/drinks stand missing half the show, only to then find out that everything was sold out, so you paid a lot of money and time for nothing.

I wonder if it was any better this time?

  3. BS website. Guns will not play Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. That is way too small for them.

I will likely not visit a show next year if they don`t bring out a new music, somehow the thrill is gone. I am a huge fan of the reunion and I managed to see them all over the world. But this year was the first year I had the opportunity to see them and chose not to; I rather saw a Maiden show.

They are more compressed so you can potentially hear "more detail" at lower volumes because everything frequency-wise is being pushed more to the forefront because of that

Honestly though, that can just mean it sounding a bit more cramped and induce ear fatigue when played louder - comparing a couple choice tunes with the original CDs, the originals are more dynamic and have just as much detail while played at a decent volume.

Honestly the compression completely negates the potential benefits you can get from a new tape transfer and new EQing.  For me I am sticking with the originals across the board

Thanks for elaborating on the technical side. I guess that is exactly what it is, and what my problem with the remasters is;. I just mentioned in another thread that I think somehow the remasters are more "clean" -  to listen to, but somehow also more difficult as they lack warmth and energy to me.

  5. So what`s the verdict on the remastered UIY albums?

I just listened to both of them on my best B&O headphones and I thought that somehow the remastered songs are a bit of a mixed bag. They sound more "clear" but not as "full", at times drums sound almost as annoying as on Metallica`s Death Magnetic.  I hardly ever use an equalizer when listening to music, but in order to enjoy the UYI remasters I had to put the EQ to "energize" -I guess that means at B&O  bass and highs up - about 20%. In neutral setting I kind of miss the punch, warmth and energy in some songs. Anyone has similar thoughts or some experts have something enlightening to contribute?

  6. Everybody here gotta realize that bands don`t make money from albums and EPs anymore. I guess Guns makes nowadays much more money alone with fashion licenses than with their records. So putting out an album now with no tour to promote in sight makes absolutely no sense at all. Possibly they  intended to have something out for the Australian / NZ tour, so that is why we got these EPs - but then again those marekets are also pretty small. So if something is coming, it would make most sense if it arrives in spring next year....but then again what does ever make sense in the world of Guns? Could also be that they just don`t care at all, as financially an album is irrelevant for them.

To all those people complaining thatwe only got and most likely will get only "old" music reworked by Slash & Duff.....You guys seriously need to consider how long Axl has been working / rewriting / producing these old songs. If you guys wait for an album written from scratch from Axl, Slash and Duff, chances are neither the band nor us will live to listen to it.

In general, I don´t understand what is wrong with working on "old" songs. We have to recognize that there will never be another album like AFD, the band had collectively a magic, unique productive moment in time when they wrote songs for eternity.

Everything written after 91 by individual members was never able to catch up to this magic. And i think it is an illusion to think that just because three of the original five are back together 30 years later they will be able to. Even if Izzy came back, it wouldn`t happen. So if they got something that has been sitting in the vaults I would love to see them working on it. I don`t think CD was a bad album, and if we get half an album with songs from the CD era with a Slash touch and half an album of Hard Skool songs (that possibly go back to demos from the stone ages...) I don`t mind.

  7. Very weird song, don`t understand the intention of releasing. Maybe there was  a leak so they came out before? I mean it is kind of big news, a new GnR song after all this time. It was even on CNN. So why don`t release something more catchy?

I don`t really hate the song, it just feels unfinished. It has horrible lyrics, no hook, weird timing with the singing and the screaming seems completely random. The underlying guitar work and rythm however is actually not bad, it would even fit the old AfD style. Is anybody else reminded of "Locomotive"?

  8. In a very bizarre way Ticketmaster and their affiliates still sell tickets for concerts in June / July in countries that officially prohibited concerts until the end of August. I wonder if that is even legal....It would not surprise me if we did not hear anything at all from the Guns camp; maybe we`ll hear from some promoters some days before the concert is supposed to take place that the shows will be indefinetely postponed....

  9. You guys can`t compare Axl`s and Jon`s performances. Jon`s voice is just straight dead; he is stuck with 3-4 lower notes and no power in his voice at all. He can`t sing anymore- period. Axl has had his ups and downs but even on a bad performance he had voice, range and power left.

  10. I saw Bon Jovi last night, as tickets were rather cheap. Stadium was full and people did have a good time as they were singing louder than the singer. But boy oh boy is Jon Bon Jovi`s voice dead. Completely out of sync, incomprehensible at times, severe problems of hitting any notes at all and most of all he was only singing roughly about half the lines. It looked most of the times as he was really suffering by singing. As soon as he had to raise his voice a little, the mix just tuned him off completely and the band members had to sing for him. The band itself was great, Tico was on fire, David saved the biggest embarassement for Jon by propably singing as much as Jon and Phil X is a great guitar player. However the whole show rather had the character of a karaoke show for the audience and David. At times I had the feeling Jon was so off, that the band actually slowed down the songs for him. I almost  felt sorry for him (almost, but the combination of worse than KISS advertising for Jon Bon Jovi crafted denim wear, the Jon Bon Jovi Cruise  (3 nights 2500 USD per person) and the official BonGiovi tomato sauce and his self celebration by wearing a jacket that said LEGEND at the end of his singing misery kind of prevented me from feeling too sorry) .

Axl Rose on his worst night (such as Abu Dhabi last year) was still about 10 times as good. Even in bad shows he never had to rely on the singing capabilities of his band, he always had "some voice" left. So if a decent band like Bon Jovi  without the original lead guitar player can sell out stadiums with a charismatic singer who can`t sing anymore, I have absolutely no doubt that Guns will be able to tour big time for the next 10 years at least.

It's a C- film at best. Fine, but overall, a little to clean for what it was supposed to be and I found some of the overdubs a little cartoonist. I also thought The film seemed to be in a rush, lots of great parts left out. The book was brilliant though.

Vince's parts saved it somewhat, the actor who played him did a great job especially the skylar, razzle parts. Mick and Tommy were good top. Thought the Nikki wasn't great, just seemed a little too smooth, sixx always seemed way more fucked up and sleazy.

No need for a gnr film, the Crüe film kinda covers the same story... It's also more interesting... Even if GNR are the more popular band and are a better band in my opinion.

Too clean?? Maybe they cut the version in the US, but I thought it was pretty explicit. Was watching it with an older friend and he was actually a bit shocked about some of the scenes. I`m am not that much of a fan, so I can`t really tell how close to reality the movie is, but all in all I would think that it could have been like that quite well.

I agree that the movie was not big budget and in some parts a bit superficial, but overall I thought it was very entertaining to watch. Tommy and Mick came across best in the movie. Overall I am happy that Netflix made it, better than 95% of the generic bs on it.

  12. Don`t understand this discussion. DT and Axl are nothing alike.....at least not nowadays. On most of his appearances off stage Axl comes agross as rather mellow, funny and softspoken person with the ability of not taking himself too seriously. Can`t say that about DT. Maybe Axl can advise him on the meds ......

  13. And besides, we all know Duff has not been punk as fuck in a really long time. I mean couture shopping, attending yachting exhibtions, instagraming and squeezing  GnR`s profits to the max kinda disqualified him from that lifestyle...

Not that it matters, we all evolve, grow up, get lazier and more conservative. I assume he somewhere still has some "punk" attitude and genuine affection for that kind of music in him, but it`s not like he needs to act the same way when as he was in his 20s.
