  5. Here's a little write up I posted at HTGTH.

So destry and I were hanging during the show, walking around having a drink, bite to eat, etc. - something that I have never been able to do at a GNR show. I'm usually up front against the rail or in a seat with a friend. We got separated towards the end and planned on meeting up by the one bar, so I said "hell, might as well give it a shot" (to get the mic). So during PC I slowly start creeping from left to right on the floor, about 3/4 way back. I get to a spot where Axl threw the whistle and remembered he usually chucks the mic a little deeper. Stepped about 6 feet back, and was perfect. Axl threw the mic, hit a dudes hand about 3 feet to my right and bounced around. I saw everyone scramble and the bright RED LED (ON) switch and GREEN LED SCREEN was laying right there, staring me in the face! So I reached down quick and turned off the mic, put it in my jacket and turned my camera phone LED light on to "help look" on the floor for it. No one seemed to find it nor have a clue that I had it! Walked over to destry, grinned nice and big and he said "whats up??". Showed him the mic and I think his words were something to the tune of "Wow, karma my friend. Even though I want to punch you in the face."

15 (maybe 16? I have to count..) shows this tour and after all the pics and stuff that I received, hanging out with the guys, meeting everyone, partying - this was the utmost perfect moment ever. I now have Axl's mic from the first Philly show in...however long. I can probably get a red cap that is usually on it from the guys, but I'm thinking this adds a little character to it. Once I get it signed, it's going in a frame with all my other 2011/2012 stuff from this tour and I CANNOT fucking wait.

Thank you to everyone - beta, fernando, etc. etc. - for the great tour so far and for making some awesome unforgettable memories for me in the past few months.

A big thank you to destry for driving me to my car (which was NOT locked up in a secure parking lot as promised...) so that no one would mug me with the mic!

After being on the rail for 14 shows or whatever, it was nice to change it up and be somewhere else. Enjoy the show from a little farther back and watch the lights, screens, etc.

Also before anyone tries, I have two statements to make since in the 10 minutes this has been posted I've already got messages.

1.)This is the mic from Philly. "Where's the red top??" It fell off after Axl threw it - somewhere it bounced off. I've got no reason to lie - and just be glad a true die-hard fan got it.

2.)I won't sell it, don't even ask. Two people have already asked if I want to, and no. How can you put a price on something like this?

That's all - I don't post here much but figured since I know some guys here I would share my story to you all.

  6. What kind of asshole throws a glass at RON? It's RON for God's sake. Could be anyone else. Just not Ron. And it's pretty cool that they played You're Crazy again.

To clarify (and I asked Ron about this...) the glass wasn't thrown at HIM - it was thrown towards the stage by some asshole. I had originally thought in the heat of the moment last night it was thrown at Ron but it was just thrown towards the stage. It was a heavy glass too, definitely could have done some damage.

I think Ron and DJ (who came from the opposite side of the stage mind you...) got some "words in with him" before the guy was taken out.
