  1. At all points in time, everything was about getting Slash back and Duff, and whoever else, because that's where the money was and still is, whatever path was needed.

If you noticed with the Axl chats, there was that big spiel at the end where he went on about running GN'R himself and the pressure that came with it. It'd be interesting to hear from Axl in the future about it all

I'm in the minority apparently, but I loved every moment of the set. I saw them live last Sunday at Emirates Stadium (had Miles Kane come out for 505 which was a treat).

Alex Turner is certainly an acquired taste, especially of late, but I sit firmly in the camp that loves his modern persona, the approach to older songs as well as the more modern albums. Tranquility Base was certainly a slow burner but once you get beyond the whole "where are the guitars", it's a ballsy as fuck album that rewards relistening.

Appreciate that this is a GNR forum, but I personally think that the Arctic Monkeys are a far more relevant and important band to the current landscape than GNR are (and have been for some time).

    Cue the dislikes.

It depends how you look at it. 46 out of 52 weeks a year, GNR outsell Arctic Monkeys at any given time, but a new AM record would outsell GNR head to head. I think the Glastonbury crowd will be more people that grew up with AM, but there's a positive vibe about GNR and Elton John.

You know, I just don't get good vibes about that place.  Reminds me of an expensive whore house, human trafficking, stuff like that.  It reeks of money trying to hide a lot of injustices.  Just my impression.  I don't think I would want to be a female going there.

Told ya, nobody wants to hear about your grandbaby.

It's actually quite safe there, you'd be surprised.

With it being a festival, it might rule out Glastonbury. Even though the timing would match up, Glastonbury doesn’t like to share headliners.

Pearl Jam played twice last year with over a dozen unique support acts for each day.

It doesn't rule out Glastonbury, the promoter for BST is happy for bands to play both festivals

  5. Guns would be fine at Glastonbury, if they play. Em's a fan so it could happen, her dad would never have booked them though

People always talk before Glastonbury, but on the day, everyone is merry so it's fine. For Guns, it about legacy and they should play Glastonbury if they get the chance, every band should

    Well. Simple question.

    I’ll start. I have.

In a year where we can get kickass albums from so many artists, this would have been the perfect time.

Now? It’s the perfect time to give up on this band. It’s over. They’ll get their blind followers who jizz all over or squirt over them from their countries that post the same fucking nonsense because they treat the band like a religion.....

    Who’s with me?

I think, I look forward to bands releasing albums, but I never expect. I've enjoyed other albums by other bands this year and I've enjoyed listening to some old GN'R music, occasionally.

In my opinion, I think it would be more sensible for GN'R to release new material when they are able to tour, in the same way Abba haven't released their new songs. I think where there is a long gap between albums, it does make more sense.

Alice should retire some time,i think his voice is out of breath lately and his stuff is not interesting anymore for me.

We saw him not too long ago, and he still enterrtains. I just say if he's enjoying it, and the crowds enjoying it, then just carry on.

I doubt they want Matt anymore. I doubt they wanted Matt ever.

And this is what I mean. I've not read the book, but you guys react in a manner which inherently protects the band.  The words that come out may be inherently tangential, but there is a nurturing and protective nature to most people here, and I think that is lost in translation sometimes.

The band want to promote family, and yet there are forums that have been around for 20 years and I think they have lost sight of this. They've been glamoured by the newness of social media and a fake fans that come with it.

I'd love to know roughly how many hours per week Fernando actually works for GNR.

I bet he sits around the house 95% of the time enjoying Axls money and occasionally 'works' by browsing Internet forums and picking fights with hardcore GNR fans.

Another thing I'd love to know is how much money he earns per year for doing basically nothing.

Again, Fernando merely represents the band/Axl. He does not really run things or make decisions, it is a glorified PA job.

The constant barrage of abuse towards Fernando is not going to help anything or anyone, and is pointless. It's like shouting at a pigeon because you've slipped on a banana skin.

At the same time, I will say he is naive, and it is a shame, because he is conversing on Discord and Reddit, and that is where all the evil is, and where the leaks happened. I know, because I watched it all. He reads words here, gets offended, then goes to the places where everything leaked. Like Wurzel Gummidge, he needs to put his smart head on sometimes and think a bit more, look at history, legacy, and have a good think about where the real fans are (and have always been), then push forward from there. I just hope it's not all over when he grows up a bit more, grows some balls and figures it all out.

I wasn't a Galaxy fan, because the levels weren't that creative and varied. They went through the motions and made all the basics look pretty, but there wasn't that much there.

It did honestly feel like a backward step from 64. However, if you didn't play 64 as a kid in the late 90's, you might not feel the same. Unfortunately I never got to play Sunshine though.

Oh I understand things get in the way.

Just saying though, Ocarina on the N64 was really more than just a landmark. It was hyped as the Greatest video game of all time in the late 90's by some publications and I remember it being quite lengthy for a 3d game in the mid 90's. Quite alot of joy and attention was poured into it.

Alot of the big Playstation releases at the time only lasted 5 hours and if weren't rubbish at games, it was like watching a longer movie and could be finished as rentals. So when Ocarina just goes on instead of ending, it was really great. RD2 is a good modern example, for where you think it's coming to a close... but just continues on (except longer games are more common place now). Not everyone has 70 hours or what not to sit playing a game over a period of time.

Final Fantasy VII was similar, though I'd argue not as long as people perhaps remember.

I remember giving up on this as a kid fairly quickly, although it was a rental. There's a flying through rings part early on that felt impossible. Really sloppy controls and design though. Pretty bad.

Kudos for mentioning Final Fantasy VII, a great game

The dimensions of the PS5 are massive.

Shish kebabs, they're huge. I was hoping to fit one of them in my tv case.

I'll get the PS5 first, and whatever Switch comes out. I tend to get the X Boxes later.

As I said before though, an end of life PS4 is still not a bad investment when these come out.

I guess if Fernando has grown up around Axl, maybe the reason he such a condescending cunt is because he's seen Axl do it. The difference being, one is Axl Rose of megastar GnR fame, the other is just a cunt. But hey, we should be grateful. In 4 years of NITL we did get a 12 minute video about 6 weeks ago. But then us fans of the band complained and 'The Cunt' couldn't upload anymore for us. So there you go, it's all our fault that his masterplan of releasing live content fell after one poor attempt.

Surely you can put forward your point without the profanities Not nice to read

Reading this thread gives me the feeling that I am in the minority, but I still think it’s awesome that they are back in GNR. Before the reunion, I always said to friends that I have seen every band that I wanted to see in my life multiple times except GNR with Slash and Duff, but that that would never happen. How grateful I was when the reunion was announced. As they did not go to Europe in 2016, I crossed the Atlantic to see two shows in Chicago that year. Every time they go to Europe I try to see as many shows as possible and I enjoy it every time as much is I can. The NuGNR era does not do anything for me, although I visited three shows back then (more like a “it’s better than nothing”). CD does not do much for me, as Slash and Duff are not on the record. I like hearing them playing some of these tunes live though (CD, Better).

I enjoy it while I can and while they are around. It’s the soundtrack of my life. The glass is half full!

Ur not in a minority :)

The band reformed and they have every right to tour and bleed the tour dry for money, because that is what it's about. Once it dries up, you move on. For every person that posts here, there's a bunch of people that don't post and don't care and buy tickets, and that is what it's about

I get the forum views, forever will, because a lot of us have been here forever, but it is what it is.
