  1. GNR NEVER DOES ANYTHING FAST!!! IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LONG DRAWN OUT ORDEAL!!!

    That said think about it..

Took forever for AFD to hit mainstream

UYI took forever to get done

    UYI Tour went on forever

After that really 2001 was the next time GNR done anything major.

Toured on CD for over a decade many of those years it wasn't even out.

Forgot CD took a very long time to be released. I say released because I think it was done in 2002 but that is a whole other story just my theory nothing more.

As far as what's next for GNR if it isn't more touring (I don't think there will be) then more silence.

Look at there ages now then think about how long it takes just to get things do in GNR years and I think it means NO new music unless it's new,old songs, But I could be wrong and they may have been already working on new stuff to ride the money wave and who could blame them.

I think GNR should call it a day and go out on a high note but that's just me.

  2. With all the rumors that the UYI tour was a bust for the band so to speak due to the excess spending on crazy things you have to remember that they sold so many million copies of AFD and redone the contract before UYI where released to the 2nd  best contract geffen ever gave any music artist other  was I think is was don henly or clapton not for sure may have been someone else. Niven said who it was in an interview thats on youtube  and said he would send them $1 so they where the highest paid geffen artist. There was something in that artist contract that they would be the labels highest paid musician. Don't know if he was talking out his ass or speaking the truth.

They made but loads of money off album sales in the late 80's and early 90's. Unlike today when for the most part album sales are not a huge source of income and that's why concert tickets are so damn high for most bands. I know the NILT ticket prices where very high but if you are a big name band like metallica and others that can still sell concert tickets that is where the money is at.

So basically alot of people will not spend the $ on the album but will spend big bucks to go to there concerts.

These net worth estimates include so many things and most of them are best guess because net worth of a brand like GNR how do you get a solid number for that. Yes it is worth alot more now with the NITLT tour that number has increased by leaps and bounds. If Axl is the sole or majority owner of the GNR brand then he is raking in cash he is getting the biggest boost in net worth that anyone else in the band. I know this has been a subject of debate as to who owns what as far as the GNR brand and it may have all changed when they negotiated the reunion.

Then there is all the properties they own, homes, cars or any assets they have for that matter.

It is not just based on how much cash money they have on hand.

My bet is that if they are working on a new album, then they will NEVER tell us.  One of Axl’s biggest mistakes was promising CD numerous times and not delivering.  Because of all the talk around it, it became legendary and infamous for years and years prior to release, and it could never live up to the hype.  No way Axl would put himself in that position again.  Nope, if we get a new guns album (and I think we will), they’ll pull a Radiohead (a band Axl has been known to respect), and release it spontaneously.

I too think if they are working on a new song/album they won't say a word. For one big reason if it implodes it will hurt the GNR brand.

As far as Axl promising CD so many timesm I truely believe it was to come out in 2002 give or take a year if it was up to Axl alone. The record company wanted a reunion plain and simple. I also think the orginal members of GNR done what they could to get it shout down. I really feel that one of the reason the plug was pulled on the 2002 us tour along with Axl being so late and not showing up at all.

in 06 I thought cd was coming out so many things where happening and then nothing.

Axl and the record company got in a pissing contest and everyone lost even the fans.

I am in no way saying Axl didn't fuck up and alot but I don't think it was all him. Back then if you pushed him he would push back in a way that was self destructive for all.

I wish we knew so much more from 94-2014 there is so much Mistery and crazy stories surrounding the CD era  it's hard to tell fact from fiction just on what we know much less what wee don't.

Yes Axl is an ass for sure.

This is just a theory but did anyone else notice for the 2009/10 tour started he had gained weight he got more mellow and that continued until the end of the CD era touring,  it has been said many times he is bipolar or some other mental illness well alot of those medications you take for that cause weight gain even if you don't eat alot hell you can gain in a month up to 20+lbs if the medication affects you that way and if he did have a mental illness it could just be he found the right medication combo and said to hell with the weight I want to feel better. But that is just a thought.

  4. I think if they decide or have decided to record with Axl there will be a trail period in the studio to see if it's a fit in the studio and if not AC/DC will get a different singer.

If Brian can't tour it is still possible they could record an album with him and get a different singer to tour and I am sure it WON'T be Axl.

If that happens I guess you could say it sounds alot like GNR from 94- NILT.

  5. I grow up during that time and here is my take on it. Not saying it makes it right or anything just how things where then.

I love OIAM! But not because people find it offensive because I just like the song. Have you ever liked a song and never really thought about the lyrics, I do all the time

Yes I get it OIAM some would find OIAM offensive but it has been blown way out of per portion.

ISE is a very offensive song to say the least (love the song by the way but not because it's offensive) and music from that era there where so many songs that a woman could find offensive but they still play them every day on the radio and in concerts.

Up until the past decade and a half if you where different whether immigrant, different sexual preferences even dress funning or whatever, alot of people had the attitude, If they didn't look or act so different people wouldn't treat them the way they do.

You look at the time it was released if it wasn't GNR or some other mainstream act it wouldn't even be talked about then much less now.

You have many many people of the same race referring to each other in that way. OIAM is shit compared to alot of rap songs as far as the use of one word.

Even though it was starting to change when OIAM was released it was still how most thought.

I say art is art and should be left up to the artist(s) how they want to present it.  If there is backlash they need to address it and if the artists views change about it and they want to change it or whatever then it's up to them.

  6. Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, said: "Guns N' Roses are one of the biggest groups in music and reinforces our four-day proposition of on-track, off-track and after-race entertainment. We are thrilled to announce that the original line-up of the band will be headlining the Sunday night show at this year's Yasalam After-Race Concerts as part of the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race weekend.

This contradicts the earlier  statement in the article that says it will be Axl, Slash and Duff.

Which I am sure it just Axl slash and duff...

  7. GNR always will be my favorite band hands down no contest. But I sure hope this happens!!!!

Axl vocally can't handle the GNR catalog live, Not knocking the guy just being realistic age catches up with the best of them.

But with Ac/DC he sounds amazing night after night. Yeah everyone has an off night but he held up really good most every night. Vocally the AC/DC songs don't require the range or all those crazy screeches and sounds he makes when he sings we all know and love from GNR.

With AC/DC Axl looked the happiest I have seen him since around 2006/07 tour. Even then he was still hit and miss on his mood but that's Axl.

Also if he joins AC/DC he won't call the shots Angus will and in a weird way I think that what he wants now.

  8. Awesome scream and imho the most powerful performance of wttj. The raw energy was over the top for the vmas back then. And all the people in the front back then where music or movie stars. They really put on a show for the tv audience and nailed it by being raw and not so polished which what RNR is all about.

  9. I wish I could go but its my wife and I will be in Florida on our 25 anniversary.

I bet attendance will take a hit due to the cardinals  playing at 6 that evening also not that there doing really good or anything but people go 35-42,000 a game. This was a big fuck up in scheduling if you ask me but it may have been the only date they could play STL.

Capacity for the dome without the end stage setup is around 90,000 not for sure about the end stage capacity I would expect it to be closer to 70,000.

  10. I think at first the NITLT was

1 make a bunch of money

    2.  See if there is any fire there to get back together to record

    3. Could they get along

Then Axl got the acdc tour and I really think if acdc do want to do an album with axl GNR will be retired after possibly a goodbye tour after the NITLT ends.

    Look at the facts

GNR songs are too hard on him and simply he voice is almost gone.

Acdc much easier for him to sing and his voice held up. If he had a bad night it wasn't really all that bad. Unlike a GNR bad night.

It would be easier to call it a day Axl will have acdc, slash still has his band, duff would pick right up where he left off also.

And another thing they all will be is much richer

This is only if axl and acdc do another album or long term touring  which I think both are a very good possibly and imho is alot more likely that GNR recording an album.

He did it? I thought Angus cracked down on him for that, lol.

    Yep he done it!!

I would love to see the last night of this tour just to see how it goes down as far as any surprises or maybe Axl being more GNR Axl on stage. I know it's about Angus but I wish Axl would be a lot more active just one time.

  12. It wouldn't surprise me if they have him or if he is not invited

I think the 2 shows he performed at where tests to see if he really is or can stay sober. those shows where early in the tour and he has absent ever since could mean he screwed it up by using again or maybe he was and is sober and he is working hard to learn all the songs they will play live for the future legs of the tour?????

As far as IZZY goes if he wants to and only if he wants to he may show up for a night here and there but as we all know IZZY hates touring. And that has been well documented by IZZY himself

I really ain't going to grip and complain because if it happens it happens if it doesn't I Will enjoy what we have. That is always the way I felt about nugnr and the reunion of gnr all the people that gripped about nugnr

I'll just always said I will take what  I get and enjoy it beacause it is what is and we can't change it.

In case anyone needs some, there's a place on the other side of town that has Nightrain.

    image.jpg

I tried nightrain back in the afd days I was 15 I think and I thought is was terrible and I drank a lot back then and nightrain was one of the worst things I ever tried

I have to admit I only tried it because of the song.

It was really cheap but there was a reason why it was cheap
