  1. I like My World. After all these years, and looking back, it's funny how it sort of bonds with OMG and Silkworms type of sound, thus proving that Axl really was into experimenting and getting serious with industrial.

I believe he trully was gravitating towards that kind of sound and Chinese Democracy, suffering from its creator's swing of musical influences, eventually became the vehicle that picked up passengers from different nationalities, got them all together without really trying to make any sense of it and hoped for the best - you get rockers, ballads, epics, industrial, guitar solos, questionable beats and a whole lot of other stuff that's going on in there.

I dig it. All of it.

One thing people are forgetting pertaining to saturating markets is the NITL tour has been actually rather shit for many areas. People act like it has toured everywhere, and that ''everybody has had a chance to see it''but that is really not the case. It has actually been very selective and a sort of lazy ''we'll plonk ourselves in one big city a million miles' away and you plebs will have to travel to us'' tour - with a few awful festivals chucked in.

In the United Kingdom Guns have only played two shows in London and a festival in the midlands - and a lot of people hate festivals. The North of England, Scotland and Wales have been completely ignored. Compare this to the Illusion tour when they played two stadia in the North (Manchester and Gateshead) besides the usual gluttony of London shows (and a big show at Milton Keynes). In Italy Guns have only played Imola and Florence; Illusion tour played Modena (twice), Turin and Rome (if memory serves). 2/3 of France's shows were Parisian whereas the Illusion tour hit markets like Nancy and Lyon.

If Slash does a proper tour he'll do a far more comprehensive tour, allowing people who couldn't see the NITL thing, through economics and/or the simple hassle of travelling.

And that is not even mentioning the lower prices, more intimate venues.

They have been to numerous countries, more so than on the UYI Tour (by the way, Rome '92 was canceled and Modena '93 were back to back nights). Keep in mind that it's still going, with the chance of more dates being added. You can call this tour out on many things, however, geographical reach is not of them.

Take a look at Germany, for example: 6 dates in a two year span; Brazil: 7 dates; Spain: 3 dates. Comprehensiveness is not defined by the number of UK shows a band can pull.

Yeah, it's not like he had trouble reaching higher notes in at least 4 shows on this tour so far. I've been saying that he is aging and his range is suffering, that's all.

Perhaps adding that opinion to your signature would save you the hassle of constantly repeating it and would leave you room to add valuable insights.

If they find Izzy or play a new song then I’d agree. But everything has been touched on in this tour except those two

My opinion is that it should come to an end, by the end of this year because, as you well said, there's not much left to do. However, I could easily see this draggin on endlessly.

Speaking for myself, and having been to Lisbon, Prague, Paris, Berlin and Madrid, all of them were special in their own way. Funny enough, each had a different setlist, so that's something I can't really complain about. If you ask me, it's either new music or retire for good; GN'R is starting to cash in on nostalgia and that's one of the main reasons I didn't buy the AFD Super Deluxe, that unboxing video gave me nausea, as it seemed like my favourite band was now some kind of old fucking museum art piece.

This said, it's been a great run, with unforgettable shows, endless hours of music, loads of fun and a tremendous pleasure to see the gang on stage - forever grateful.

there is litterally a disclaimer leaflet in the package, that puts the painting in context, going at great lenghts to explain it is an anti rape message.

I don't know what is more absurd: GNR putting such a leaflet in the package in the first place, or people who still think it isn't enough to get a pass

Would you mind posting a picture of it, please?

  7. I love the original cover and remember spending a few years tracking one.

I think it's way more interesting than the dull 5 skull cross, which should have been a merchandising representation of the band, only - its icon status as an album cover was merely achieved because the album itself is legendary, otherwise things would be different.

In the original cover you can sort of see a visual representation of the music within, which, to me, is really cool; the danger, sleaze, shock, no boundaries, recklessness, all elements that made up the album.

If you don't have it, buy one and frame it.
