  1. IMO the whole AC/DC tour thing damaged permanently Axl's voice and since '17 his voice was never the same especially at higher pitch/rasp where he obviously suffers now. Maybe it's also age related. All in all Axl's still got one hell of voice at his age - a shame he's loosing his legendary stamina on stage too. Let's take it for what it is.

All valid questions, ha. Diet is a huge part of him wanting to get in shape, so we will see how that part of it goes. I do remember him working out/kickboxing in the gym before my first show in Vegas with his former bodyguard on 12/29/01..back when I was still a teenager ha. I remember he was getting after it and Betas daughter was guarding the door from onlookers, such as myself ha.

Hey that's a great story bro!! Wish it was mine to tell. :)

Let's hope for the best and I guess we'll all find out soon enough ha!

Hasn't Duff said that Axl loves cardio exercise?

And probably some good fatty chilli cheese Tommy's burgers (as he mentioned once) afterwards to 'compensate' for his effort...

Hope I'm wrong though and he pulls a Bon Jovi or Anthony Kiedis on us and shows up in good shape!

  4. Let's get something straight here - fact is that Guns are a living legend kind of band (like the Stones) already - actually they do not need to put out anymore new music ever and would always be able to tour indefinitely the world with their current catalogue. They've earned it - because they're that good. Respect for that.

This doesn't mean that we're not gonna have a new album and music coming - but that music will only be relevant to a very small percentage of Gn'R causal fans out there. Everyone else will always want to hear just the 'greatest hits'.

  5. Don't you guys feel lucky to have had the chance to download so many gigs of old bootlegs, vids and misc Gn'R stuff  before this new era arrived? For sure I always imagined it wouldn't last long in an ever more controlled and policed internet space. I'm just happy I've got my 'precious'

  6. Slash keeps on rocking year on year and I'm looking forward already to his new record! :headbang::slash: And Duff will release some new stuff too!

As for a CD2 record for sure Axl will put it out eventually and I'm sure both Slash & Duff will rewrite some of the guitar/bass parts. It'll be EPIC!

Wonderful times being for hardcore Gn'R fans! ;) Thank you guys - you rock!

  7. My take on Axl's voice in different eras:

    - 86-89 probably the best we'll ever listen too - a voice full, amazing range & no weak spots. The rasp was also raw and perfect.

    - 90-93 some great vocals too, almost as good as before, but the rasp usually sounded a bit more harsh (kind of "metallic" sounding if you know what I mean)

    - 01-02 strong lower register but rasp was almost completely gone, instead replaced by a very strong falsetto

    - 06-07 strong vocals all around and probably the best "modern" era vocals imo. Although there was some inconsistency at some shows and somehow on higher pitch he sang clean (without rasp) which was and is (later on) unusual

    - 09-10 strong vocals all around and a HELL FUCK YEAH of a rasp! The rasp if anything was a bit too present for my liking in some songs - like he couldn't control it very well

-11-14 good vocal range but way too less rasp than usual. It seemed that Axl was really having some strain in singing in higher register. Still some odd great performances like '12 amazing Philly show and the later Vegas residency shows

    - 16-17 good vocals overall and great voice range and control - a very balanced era overall, especially considering Axl's age

    - 18 still good vocals overall but the rasp was weaker and even a bit distorted at higher pitch
