Things off here with Axl, he had a great hairline (much better than in 1994) and it looked natural (straight readhair) unlike later on when he resurfaced with a bit of curly hair. His talking voice was also much thinner than before.
-
IMO the whole AC/DC tour thing damaged permanently Axl's voice and since '17 his voice was never the same especially at higher pitch/rasp where he obviously suffers now. Maybe it's also age related. All in all Axl's still got one hell of voice at his age - a shame he's loosing his legendary stamina on stage too. Let's take it for what it is.

All valid questions, ha. Diet is a huge part of him wanting to get in shape, so we will see how that part of it goes. I do remember him working out/kickboxing in the gym before my first show in Vegas with his former bodyguard on 12/29/01..back when I was still a teenager ha. I remember he was getting after it and Betas daughter was guarding the door from onlookers, such as myself ha.
Hey that's a great story bro!! Wish it was mine to tell.
Let's hope for the best and I guess we'll all find out soon enough ha!

Hasn't Duff said that Axl loves cardio exercise?
And probably some good fatty chilli cheese Tommy's burgers (as he mentioned once) afterwards to 'compensate' for his effort...
Hope I'm wrong though and he pulls a Bon Jovi or Anthony Kiedis on us and shows up in good shape!

It's gonna be epic!!!

Why should Axl change a plenty tested and proven successful setlist for these shows? Makes no sense to me. So my bet is more of the "same" and it's fine.

Only thing Dizzy really cares about is Hookers and Blow...

Is a new Gn'R record that important anyways? It certainly doesn't look like it to Axl.
As far as the touring 'machine' goes they could keep on touring the world with their greatest hits tour indefinitely and keep on making a shit load of money. We all know that.

At the end of 2018 Axl's voice was in fairly good shape - but to my ears he lost (from 2017) the ability to hit very high notes more clearly - it sounds like he's having a tougher time now and i sounds kind of too distorted.
It's a mistery how he's voice will sound this year but my expectations are pretty low. Hope I'm wrong!

Axl sooner or later will bring back Pitman & Paul Tobias to 'help out' Slash...

It was a GREAT movie - loved it!! So much more respect for Vince Neil after knowing about his own personal deamons and tragedies.

Guns N Roses discography is so tiny that we dont really have the standards to call them legendary. The Stones are legendary, ACDC is legendary, Aerosmith is legendary.
Guns N Roses and their three albuns (4 if we count the Illusions as two)?
No, thanks. We didnt have enough to know if they are real legends or just got lucky.
Well the fact that Gn'R have only put out 3-4 records and are able to be selling out stadiums on tour all over the world makes them even more legendary in my book! Just saying...
Anyway most people my generation (old farts) don't really seem to care about any new Gn'R stuff, certainly not CD... Still they're the first to buy tickets to whatever Gn'R tour hits town... Maybe it's the young people - new fans that are actually into hearing a new Gn'R record....could be.

Let's get something straight here - fact is that Guns are a living legend kind of band (like the Stones) already - actually they do not need to put out anymore new music ever and would always be able to tour indefinitely the world with their current catalogue. They've earned it - because they're that good. Respect for that.
This doesn't mean that we're not gonna have a new album and music coming - but that music will only be relevant to a very small percentage of Gn'R causal fans out there. Everyone else will always want to hear just the 'greatest hits'.

Don't you guys feel lucky to have had the chance to download so many gigs of old bootlegs, vids and misc Gn'R stuff before this new era arrived? For sure I always imagined it wouldn't last long in an ever more controlled and policed internet space. I'm just happy I've got my 'precious'

it's coming sooner than later....late 2020 is my guess for a CD follow-up Gn'R album featuring Slash/Duff's contributions on it. The an epic 2021/2022 world tour all over again to prove the world that true Rn'R never goes out of fashion.
-
Slash keeps on rocking year on year and I'm looking forward already to his new record! And Duff will release some new stuff too!
As for a CD2 record for sure Axl will put it out eventually and I'm sure both Slash & Duff will rewrite some of the guitar/bass parts. It'll be EPIC!
Wonderful times being for hardcore Gn'R fans! Thank you guys - you rock!

The band was only truly a band in the Appetite era...raw straight in your face no BS rock n'roll!

To be honest I've been a fan since the early days and no matter what Axl does or doesn't do, I will ALWAYS be a fan of Gn'R.
That being said they're just a bit pathetic these days, like old farts living out of their endless runs of heyday greatest hits tours. I still hope something might change, but have very little hope for it.
I'm now just more focused on emerging rock bands and recently found one that blew the f@ck me away! Never thought about hearing such a soulful and blusey (also folksy) rock n'roll band ever again like KALEO. There is still hope for RnR after all!

My take on Axl's voice in different eras:
- 86-89 probably the best we'll ever listen too - a voice full, amazing range & no weak spots. The rasp was also raw and perfect.
- 90-93 some great vocals too, almost as good as before, but the rasp usually sounded a bit more harsh (kind of "metallic" sounding if you know what I mean)
- 01-02 strong lower register but rasp was almost completely gone, instead replaced by a very strong falsetto
- 06-07 strong vocals all around and probably the best "modern" era vocals imo. Although there was some inconsistency at some shows and somehow on higher pitch he sang clean (without rasp) which was and is (later on) unusual
- 09-10 strong vocals all around and a HELL FUCK YEAH of a rasp! The rasp if anything was a bit too present for my liking in some songs - like he couldn't control it very well
-11-14 good vocal range but way too less rasp than usual. It seemed that Axl was really having some strain in singing in higher register. Still some odd great performances like '12 amazing Philly show and the later Vegas residency shows
- 16-17 good vocals overall and great voice range and control - a very balanced era overall, especially considering Axl's age
- 18 still good vocals overall but the rasp was weaker and even a bit distorted at higher pitch

Is this the new single from the album: AXL feat. the Looney Tunes ...?
Really cool song btw!

There's definitely something coming up - no way Axl is wasting the opportunity to make a shit load more money out of the Slash and Duff collaboration.

If you want to know how a possible Axl/Mel collaboration would sound on a new album:
Great video and Axl proves that he still got it whenever he decides to push for it.

Axl Voice could have a comeback?

If Axl rellly put the hard work in place I'm sure he could get his voice back to near 2016 era level which was probably the most balanced between the punishing rasp and a cleaner yet strong voice. But he'll probably be his lazy self as usual and just start singing at the beginning of the tour struggling for a few shows...
