I joined MYGNR in early January of 2004 which means I've now officially been a member for... 20 years While I'm not a power-poster, this place has been a consistent part of my life the entire time, but there have certainly been significant portions where for whatever reason, I wasn't logged in, but still read every day. I can remember things like the Coyote's thread (rumored spontaneous gig to take place in the spring of 05 at some random divebar in Georgia), Madisongate, "AxlRoseVen" (), when Black Sabbath was a mod (who I've connected with outside of MYGNR and he's an awesome dude), meeting RussTCB at the Democracy listening party at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit (his pre-MYGNR days when he was only a member at HTGTH), meeting RancidPunks (who I was convinced was actually Karice for a while lol) at the April 8th 2016 gig in Vegas, the entire MSL saga, Batman (I think his name was?) getting forum member of the year in 05, me, posting a "10 Years on MYGNR" thread... 10 years ago lol, IndianaRose always being awesome, a period of time when I was upset about negativity over CD so I made another username called "Mike From Sharkys" and on the night Dexter showed up, before he revealed his identity, I had this weird feeling it was Axl, so I PM'd him and was like, "are you indeed thee, Axl Rose?" and he responded saying, "Yes and thanks for your support!" () Miser writing the longest post I've ever seen announcing his departure, Eric announcing the forum would be closed down and then Downzy stepping in at the 11th hour to keep it alive, members returning after 5 year bans issued by Madison (Bono was one, I believe), Mr Fukaji's Neon Fun House, Len of course, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. I was 21 when I joined and I'm 41 now lol. I'd grown my hair long like, to my ribcage and then cut it short like, 3 separate times but it's rib-cage length again and it'll be that way til I die lol. Also connecting with Gunsguy outside the forum and he's awesome, too. You know what's a trip... is finding posts you've made on other forums (I think it might have actually been Misfits Central when it was accessible through AOL) from... 1996. 28 years ago! Crazy times, man

Didn't the November Rain video debut the weekend of the Paris 92 payper view?? I swear I remember watching the PPV and then the next afternoon like, NR debuting on MTV. I could be wrong but... (actually, no, ChatGPT is telling me the PPV was like, 2 weeks prior to NR's airing, so, lol). I think regarding "stardom" back then vs. now is that back then, stars were still only seen as just that: super-stars but still human and infallible. So probably the equivalent to Swift was MJ but nowadays, musicians of that caliber (and athletes I find, too) are portrayed as though they are arguably literal demi-gods on earth. I think that's unfortunate for both the fan base as well as the star cuz it's like, that's a hell of a lot of pressure on their shoulders, I bet lol.

I uhhh... idk I mean... i don't really notice anything wrong with it lol. Isn't tie dye kinda regarded as one of those things that, like camouflage, will never really be out of style? Like it's just kind of a basic American staple sorta look? To me it just looks like really comfy clothes and it's tie dye which is kinda fun and most importantly, GN'R logos but then again, what do I know anyway -
Wait lol what was the show you were at again where- actually... did you see DJ's first show with the band? Because if I recall, didn't you say something about seeing, what you described as some kind of like, "Hollywood nightmare" and you said, "I am 100% certain he was on the phone with DJ Ashba." Haha I always thought your description of the dude was hilarious lol. Semi-related type of story: I was on the same flight with Andrei from LAX to Vegas before the shows at T-Mobile in 16 and I watched him get the phone call from, whoever it was, informing him of Axl's injury. He looked so shocked and "wtf?!"

I've kinda tried to ignore this thread cuz the guilt from listening to the leaks has been wearing on me lol but the few times I've peaked have left me curious about something: re. General, some people have said there's an 8 or 9'ish minute version? Actually, update: wtf is going on because the version i have, i got from youtube when it was up for like, 15 minutes. I saved it, extracted the audio and it was like, 4:25 I thought. NOW, however... I've just opened it on my Macbook in Apple Music for the first time and it's length has somehow... changed???? Changed to the longer version??? And I swear to God the quality is... better???? Am i going nucking futs here or something orrrr.... idk, is there some sort of confusion/ambiguity, etc. about the length, two different versions, etc.? ---- and why just now, when I skipped ahead in the song, did I hear absolutely nothing; yet doing the SAME EXACT THING I JUST DID, A SECOND TIME, and the song plays? You know what.. nevermind I guess.... it's guns... i know not to ask questions and just enjoy the music, so fuck it

I'm mad at myself for listening when I SWORE I would not... but I did.. and I agree with everyone else who says these songs are incredible. That nasty riff in General, holy shit is that genuinely "heavy." And then Monsters- I love it because it makes me think of how Prostitute and Atlas are: that they totally sound like, 1996/97, VH1 Pop up video and.... i don't know, yes, incredible.

How is the HS mix bad?
there is no dana only zool replied to ZoSoRose's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Ok. This is extraordinarily helpful and I am genuinely thankful for your response, mate edit: in case you were wondering what, specifically stuck out the most: "...rarely will tracks on an album have the exact same template as every song will have different requirements." -

Speaking of mixing, take, for example, Illusion I: does anyone with knowledge of, well, mixing lol, know if... imagine you're standing in front of the mixing board. Now, take, let's say, Right Next Door to Hell, Dead Horse, Don't Damn Me and Bad Obsession. To my ear, those four songs sound "cohesive." Does there exist a chance, however, that the levels for the drums may be a bit louder on one (or two? or three?) tracks than the others?; or perhaps, Slash may be higher in the mix at times and lower in others? What I'm trying to learn is, in order for an album like Illusion I to sound like the songs all indeed belong on the same album, is there merely some sort of a "template" that was used to ensure this?; and like, so therefore the levels on most of the songs were identical to each other? -
