  1. The first 2 Arctic Monkeys albums are fuckin solid. Favourite Worst Nightmare is one of the best albums of the 2000s. Can't say much for their stuff after that, though...
  2. Yes, it's most likely to do with live sound, but let us have hope that Axl has finally ditched Caram and brought in some professionals to help with studio songs
  3. @janrichmond why is the word w0ke still being filtered? Oldest Goat stopped ranting about it a while ago...
  4. Would be cool to see Axl and Duff do a song together again - Raw Power, So Fine or even You Ain't The First (since Duff played it each night on his Tenderness tour)
  5. I don't know whether he'd be more or less likely to be hassled there tbh, my original post was more to do with the stories from when he was playing music in strip clubs but I can't find those articles anymore...
  6. Did a quick search and all I could find was some articles about him partying at gay bars in 2006 and 2010. I remember some stories from when he was playing CD songs in strip clubs but I can't find them now so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it...
  7. If we're not gonna use this thread to discuss an actual new album, we may as well have some laughs
  8. Hasn't Taylor Swift released like half a dozen albums since her previous tour? Definitely nowhere near GNR in terms of popularity or releases lol. But yea, RHCP are touring behind 2 new albums and about 1/3 of their set is new songs, same for Maiden... there's definitely legacy acts that have kept their fans interested in new music. But that's one of the main differences between legacy acts like those bands, and nostalgia acts like GNR.
  9. Just to clarify, they were separate rumours, not that they were together or anything. I think it was around 2006-07 (but could've been 2010) there were a lot of rumours about Axl when he was hanging out in NYC. Manson blew Robin on stage, and yea Adler has been pretty open about some of the things he did for dope in the 80s...
  10. As far as we know, they don't have more than an EP's worth of CD leftovers recorded. I wouldn't mind if they stretched it to an LP with a Duff song and 1 or 2 covers but I'm sure most people on here would hate that Perhaps has gotta be released by the end of the European run, assuming there is actually more songs on the setlist... it's kind of insulting to the fans who've already seen them that they've got a new song ready to go and are soundchecking it, but they haven't played/released it yet. Luckily I'm seeing the last show of the year in Vancouver so if they're gonna release anything I'm sure I'll get to hear it live.
  11. Depends how you do it, I'll take a few videos at concerts but I hold my phone near my chest and don't really look at the screen. Got a few videos when I saw RHCP and the footage isn't great but the audio is pretty good so I'm glad I recorded them. People who hold their phones way over their head and block the view of people around them are total assholes, though.
  12. First I've heard that stuff about Ashba, but did you guys really not remember the rumours about Axl and Pitman? And I'm sure most have heard the story about Robin and Marilyn Manson? And what Steven used to do for drugs... fuck it's not exactly shocking that there's some gay/bi/whatever history in this band
  13. The snippet was posted in 2013-14 around the time Blood In The Water and Going Down leaked. There was a 2~ minute teaser with 10-15 second snippets of Absurd, OMG and the remixes. The full demo with Bumblefoot's guitar was leaked in 2018 I think.
  14. Fair. I kinda hate the studio version of Absurd but it's one of their best live songs right now - basically the opposite of Hardschool which is a fine single but awful live song.
  15. Great song of course, but I can't imagine Axl getting a good reception from people watching the live broadcast... same for Coma, TWAT, etc. I wouldn't really be surprised if they only do PC as an encore, either.
  16. Forgot about that one (blasphemy, I know ) They could probably squeeze it into that set somewhere... tbh I always skip that one when I watch live streams now.
  17. SOYL, Reckless and Nice Boys are basically interchangeable (fast-paced rockers that Axl can scream his way through) but SOYL is on the Greatest Hits re-release so that's why I included that one. The slow version of You're Crazy would be great, it's one of this lineup's best songs and I wouldn't be disappointed if it replaced Slither... but Slither is a staple at this point, and Axl sounds fine on that except for the chorus.
  18. The set time for Glastonbury is only 2 hr 15 mins, right? Not sure if Axl would be willing to cut songs like YCBM and RQ, but something like this would probably be as well-received as a modern GNR broadcast could be received... Down On The Farm It's So Easy Bad Obsession Live And Let Die Chinese Democracy Slither Welcome To The Jungle Pretty Tied Up Absurd Shadow Of Your Love Double Talkin' Jive Sweet Child O' Mine November Rain TV Eye Perhaps Mr. Brownstone Knockin' On Heaven's Door Nightrain ----- Patience Paradise City 20 songs. Add Civil War and maybe Wichita Lineman if there's time. Cut all the fat, play the biggest hits and focus the rest of the show around Axl's natural voice.
  19. 2014 was the best performances. I do like the piano outro they do now though, and Melissa's synths and vocals being high in the mix is always a good thing. Axl has never sounded great on the verses, but he just sounds pathetic on them now. The 'perversion and pain' scream is his only decent moment in the song. Prostitute is my favourite song on CD but it's not really a good live song.
  20. He spliced the 'bitch like you' vocals together from the rock band stems, the same way he did The General. His work was ridiculously impressive, and I still think his version of Silkworms is better than what was eventually released.
  21. That was evader's version that had the outro, it's pretty nice. At one point I put the 'bitch like you' vocals from his version (spliced from rock band stems) over the Village demo and it sounded pretty cool.
  22. They've played it before SCOM once or twice in the last few years... always thought it worked well, maybe they'll do that again tonight? edit: apparently it was played earlier
