  1. Mike I think you are missing the point. Slash doesn´t want to make history nor he wants to redefine rock music. He has band to make albums and he goes on tour with them. So he mix his catalogue with the GN´R classics that people in the audience want to hear. Conspirators is not meant to be a legendary band. If Slash is in a mood for an All Star Band he performs with KOC. Slash is still doing what he does best. He is still an amazing guitar player, one of the best in the world. When Slash is performing RQ and Anastasia he is also adding new riffs to them. He is making them even better

Axl on the other hand is messing with the GN´R legacy. It took Axl more than 10 years to make a forgetable album. His version of GN´R has been a revolving door. He has his housekeeper as the band manager. WTF??? The biggest problem I´m having with Axl is not that he plays WTTJ. It is that he doesn´t want to make more albums nor he wants to play one just one new song. And by new I don´t mean neither Prostitute nor Yesterdays. I mean The General or something else from his infamous Vault. There is never communication. Axl is using his twitter once in a blue moon to talk about a giraffe and breakfast. When us the fans want to know what the fuck is going with BBF and the band´s future.

No you are missing the point. I said all along that this was not to start an Axl vs Slash thread. I was expressing MY dissapointment with Slash's band at the concert I attended. That is all....

You shouted Axl's name repeatedly between songs to "be heard"??

Why not just publicly declare yourself a douche and be done with it?

For the record, I only did that after the gnr songs. Besides people have been giving Axl shit for years about no Slash. As a fan I'm not allowed to do the same to Slash??? Hmm.....

Translation - "Some fucking moron gave Axl shit at a GNR show over Slash, so as a rabid Axl fan I feel compelled to behave like a fucking moron at a Slash show to get revenge."

    Grow. The. Fuck. Up.

People were screaming Bon Fkn Jovi at the show I went to. People laugh at that, I doubt many would be mad at Mike. Of course, that excludes MyGnRForum users.
  2. ^ Awesome

I hope Fontus is also gone. GNR can be a one guitar band like Slash always wanted. But with DJ Ashba.

 I'd attend this concert just for the :lol::lol:

Can you imagine the amount of "Living the dream" moments?

Yes, this show would be the best comedy show in a while

If a GN'R show with Ashba as the sole lead guitarist would be a trainwreck then god knows what a GN'R show with Ashba as the sole guitarist full stop would be like!

Now that I think about it... I'm not laughing anymore as it would be scary. It definitely creeps me out.

  3. I think Ron's message is pretty clear. Guns wanted to tour Brazil, Ron refused. He is working on his album, will tour to promote it, so fuck Axl's band. I think he was told to stay quiet.

Of course all speculation. Oh, from what I can tell, Ron himself decided to release those songs on his album, he wanted to write songs from scratch with the band - which never happened.

I'm loving, yet another member does not act like a sheep. He is not Ashba. He is not living (faking) the dream

  4. So many awesome tracks that they only played back in the early-to-mid 70's - and then there are those that were not played but are awesome on the albums. Early Queen means more experimental/progressiv-ish songs as those first 5 albums are the real deal to those more conservative Queen fans. I love both early and late Queen, the well known hits are what made Queen huge, but there's no denying that those early songs were special. I gotta say, watch them performing some of those early songs was one of the best things that I've ever heard.

  5. Just listened to both shows. I gotta say - they're amazing, outstanding! What a truly talented band! Much better than I expected - and I was really excited! I love those more intricate performances and it's a shame that lots of those songs weren't played in the 80's. Well, they had a big discography and they had to play the new songs plus the old hits, but it's lovely that we have a proper recording of the band in the 70's. Audio quality is superb, video is absolutely great! It's one of the best live recordings from the band in any period. The whole band shines here, but Freddie stole the show again. He had a slighty softer tone and vocal approach as opposed to the strong chest vocals he opted in the 80's, especially by mid 80's, but those performances are really strong, raw and brilliant.

I'll post two videos that were uploaded by Queen...

    Stone Cold Crazy

    Keep Yourself Alive

There's another sample taken from iTunes (Taken from Queenzone)

The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke (One my favorite tracks...)

  6. To me DJ's was, by far, the worst. Getting on the roof just to jump in his pool was ridiculous. Pathetic. He just made himself look even worse trying to look cool. It isnt for showoff, they're doing this to raise awareness and donate, but of course the Mr. Douchey had to do his thing.

"Hey, I live in a mansion. Hey, there's a pool and I'm jumping in it from the roof. I'm that badass"

not going to lie man, if I had Dj's house and money (and wife quagmire.gif) I'd jump off the roof into the pool as well.
Absolutely. However, I doubt you would do a video like this showing off your mansion when in fact he's supposed to raise awareness, not showoff.

  8. Sixx:AM is a terrible band, awful music.

sounds like a lot of effort to go to when he could just get the tape converted to digital?

What if he is doing this because he doesnt know that he can convert that tape? Dude just bought a cassette to see if it still plays instead of converting it to mp3  I'd like to think that a top producer that wants to work with Guns at the very least had the tools to convert to mp3.

Maybe, somehow and, I don't really know how, he thinks he's a better guitarist than 20 years ago.

    He's also ultra fast. Still.

  10. I mean that fellow guitarists, music critics and progressive/virtuoso music fans knew him (and Bucket for that matter) before Guns.

Yeah, but there's a difference to people being aware that he's releasing CD's and people actually buying the CD's as well.

No one buys CD's anymore, anyway.

    not true

Of course it's true, Pittman said it so it must be true

Hey asshole, I don't need to know what Pitman thinks about it, just take your head out of your ass and look at some numbers. The drastic decline in cd sales is a fact. Record companies and artists don't make real money off of albums anymore, but mostly from live shows and merch.

Hey calm down man, I'm just joking around, I know sales of physical albums is nowhere near where it used to be, I also know that other bands dont use it as an excuse not to release music, that was all I was referring to, no need to resort to name calling

Wanna just quote that bit of my own post again as well as those who answered me - I was just messing around, like I usually do now. Yes, I think people talk too much about album sales rather than quality of the music they're listening to, but I was ultimately trolling the GnR fanbase when I said that they're like mainstream music fans because I, unfortunately, don't take Guns seriously anymore and I think that Ron should leave this mess asap, and I jumped on the "reunion" bandwagon - and unless the next guitarist is Buckethead, for obvious reasons, or Guthrie, so he can be a nice replacement for Ron, I won't be following Guns like I do. However, I seriously doubt that both would ever consider joining Guns and I doubt that a reunion would happen at this point, so Axl is possibly giving up on this band himself. Actually I think that since late 2010 he's had enough of his own "solo" venture. All in all - I truly believe that Ron is gone and as his fan I'd be happy to see him doing something other than playing the same songs night after night.

  11. Someone has to pay attention to his solo career, I suppose :shrugs:

( just kidding, I know plenty of people do )

And that's only because of his tenure in Guns. Ron had a career prior to joining the band. And no one knew about it.

No one as in old GnR fanboys and shitty mainstream music listeners that made Justin Bieber videos infinitely more popular than all of Axl's, Duff's and Slash's and GnR's videos combined and made Lady Gaga's album sell like 3 times more than Chinese?

Those who matter know who the serious musicians are and I'm glad that my favorite musicians are not sell out media whores that care more about popularity than quality. You people should just let the "A is more/less popular than B" non sense go.

  12. REPLY "not confirmed by Axl/management as of yet, no"

So who wants to waste some time speculating about who this might be?

I'm going to say it's a non-Axl band member based on the way this is worded.

If it's a band member might as well be confirmed and they'll get to know within a few days before the dates. If one of them say "No, I cant do this, I already have booked shows", Guns management will issue a huge press release saying how said member didnt fully commit to Guns and how he never fit the band anyway, not to mention his erratic behavior despite being under contract.
