There's been a lot of people who want to give orders and physically attack anyone who doesn't obey, even if that assault interferes with more important tasks like giving a concert or airport security.  Being in charge is what matters so if you need to beat your girlfriend, that's what's gonna happen.  If your fans all die of old age waiting for your next album, sucks to be them.

Most people don't get away with this as long as Axl has, but that powerlust is a lwell-known aspect of human nature.

    That's how human nature works.

Or you'd be fighting to release it.  Or you'd be pointing out to your cult your fans why you've magically failed every attempt to release it for the last 30 years.  If someone points out this brand new invention called the internet, you'd start looking into how that works.  If you hate the internet and only want the music on CD, you'd be fighting to restore the CD industry.  You'd be putting these songs into your concerts so people can hear them.  All this would build interest from the few people who are still alive to remember when you were popular.

I mean, it also is human nature to not swan dive into a crowd of people because some dude had a camera, or to refrain from biting the leg of a security guard in an airport - Axl is not your typical human and so I don't know if projecting what someone *thinks* a person would potentially naturally be inclined to do with art holds any water

I don't know if Axl has anything in the Vaults or not, but if he doesn't - it isn't because he isn not acting the way you think a person should if they had material in the Vault lol

one thing though, Chris Robinson still sounds like a powerhouse of bluesy singing and his voice sounds like a perfect fit for Slash. the roundness of the production with the punch from mike clink makes it sounds like a million dollars. and it's a cover. Slash does throw curve balls sometimes, I think The Pusher will sound brilliant.

The new Black Crowes album kicks ass, Chris definitely still has the goods vocally, he sounds the same as he always has.  This was one of the tracks I was most curious to hear when the guest appearances were announced

  4. Steven Wilson is not only one of the greatest prog rock musicians of the last 30 years, he is a brilliant remixer both in spatial audio and stereo (his remixes of the Yes and Jethro Tull catalogue are stellar)

It is baffling GNR wouldn't want another amazing representation of their music out there.  Atmos is pretty popular right now and it would have definitely gotten a lot of people to check out AFD and the Illusions even more

You are part of the problem.

Why would a member of the bands management team be replying to anything related to the company that created the content for the music video.

When has any members of the bands management team been involved in video or animation production?.

Why even bring that into the conversation?.

Given people on social media seem to be giving this company unwanted grief, are they not afforded a right of reply?.

Have you ever considered this behavior might be effecting those people involved personally?.

Do you think they wanted this type of nonsense directed towards them for doing their jobs?.

Place yourself in their shoes, and see the situation from their prespective.

They would be thinking how unhinged a section of the Guns N Roses fan base is, because of a music video...

That's a sad reflection on those people, not the people behind the creation of a music video.

To many people bring baggage into these threads that seems to cloud general common sense..

    Come back to reality please.

    It's only a music video..

How come you only come online and post to just berate people?  I can't remember a single time you have talked about music here

Sebastian Bach made it seem like it was gonna be an epic and super heavy track. Like it was some kind of masterpiece

That is why I stuck with the theory that Monsters was Part 2 of it, for many weeks after the leak   I figured that was the only way I could see The General being the epic monster of a track that Bach made it sound like, if there was more to it all

Carrie Underwood’s Satellite Radio station was playing The General last night, thought that was kind of cool

I am laughing at the thought of a soccer mom tuning into the station wanting to hear Carrie sing about Jesus taking the wheel and instead getting an '80s rock band doing '90s/00s electronic/rock sounds singing about child abuse

Nuno says now that he owes Richard an apology, what was stopping him all these months from just DMing Richard himself and doing just that? Lol

I know Nuno was asked about it here via an interview so he didn't go out of his way to bring up the little back-and-forth, but to me the answers he gives still have the sense of self-importance to them

  9. Going through my mental library these come to mind:

Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young and Black Water by the Doobie Brothers are in double drop D from what I recall

CCR used drop D in the 70s I believe (I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Ramble Tamble for example) and definitely Zeppelin for tunes like Moby Dick and Ten Years Gone.

Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen (1978) was in drop D as well.

Fleetwood Mac is another example I can think of, in 1975 doing drop D for "World Turning" and later on Rumors (Drop D but with a capo on fret 4 for Never Going Back Again)

Definitely later on in further decades Drop D became more prevalent and ingrained in styles, like heavier metal and grunge - that said it was for sure a compositional technique used in the '70s a decent amount.  Even if you take away the bands Sabbath paved the way for such as Pentagram who used drop tuned guitars in the '70s in that more heavy metal style

Monsters sounds super unfinished after listening really closely. Drum machines, synthetic vocals, and sloppy guitar galore.

Honestly it sounds more finished to me than Scraped does on the actual CD album lol.  The guitar work doesn't sound sloppy to me on Monsters, and the drum machines in the verses seem more of an artistic decision (Prostitute for example) rather than placeholder drums

Do y’all think we’ll ever hear the original Nu-GnR General demo?

Since this is a Brain composition, I can’t imagine much is different other than the Slash lick on the intro and solos.

Yeah unlike Monsters where it has a ton of guitar parts such as the leads and even the repating lick during the chorus that sounds Slash-ified, The General seems just like the only real guitar-centric parts are what you stated - the wah bits from Slash and the outro solo.

Outside of a different mix bringing certain elements up or down, beyond a few of those guitar licks and the outro solo being different, I can't imagine the nuGNR version being much different at all
