  1. who is they?

Guns N' Roses, and not that old dusty sloppy version that once played together.

Statements like this are beyond moronic. You can love the new band. Hell, you can even like them better than the original. But when people take subtle (or not so subtle) jabs at the REAL version of the group and the ARCHITECTS behind the greatest hits, it just makes them look like they are worshipping at the church of Axl.

He is a self admitted cupcake just stirring the shit. Ignore him and he will go away.

    ..

It would take a lot to make me leave.

What I'm doing is the same as others are doing towards nu GN'R.

But because I bash Saul & co. instead of Ashba or BBF I'm the bad guy.

    This is a fact.

Not at all, all it is doing is making the rhetoric here worse and worse. It doesn't matter what side of the arguement it is, it doesn't matter what incarnation of the lineup a person likes more, bashing any lineup constantly is just immature imo. And using the "they started it first" argument just makes it worse. I don't get the logic of "oh I hate how some people are immature and I don't like what they are doing so I am going to make posts that are equally as ignorant and immature". It makes no sense and it derails the quality of discussion here, all parties involved are guilty

  2. Why am I seeing George Clooney's The Ides Of March tomorrow and I haven't heard GNR's song The Ides Of March? Where is The Ides of March song? It should be played at the next concert for the sake of George Clooney. The poor guy can't even get Axl's attention to hear a song unless he directs and stars in a movie with the title of a GNR song. This has gotten too ridiculous. Where is Soul Monster? Where is Thyme? Where is The Ides of March?

    Trolly McGee.

Yeah right Packer! Me and George Clooney are the only GNR fans on here who actually want to hear the GNR song The Ides of March. Everyone else are paid employees. Paid to say nice things. Paid to not want new songs. Paid to not ask where Soul Monster is? Where is Soul Monster by the way? Where is Thyme? Where is The Ides of March?

    ummm... what?

  3. one thing I do not get, U2!? Oh god. worse than justin bieber.

Not at all. U2 has a lot more rocking songs than most people think. I can see how people view them as a "sappy ballad band" because a lot of their songs played on the radio are on the soft side but they are a great band if you take the time to get familiar with their material and leave your preconceptions about Bono out of it. I mean if you don't like them you don't like them, but comparing them to Justin Beiber just makes no sense lol.

hah, I know. I just, never understood the thing. Have to admit have never listened them too much, they have some song in some batman thing I really like etc, same thing with Rolling stones 2-3 decent songs thats all.....that Bono guy is not rockstar, but the exact opposite. Nah, I mean it all in good, I just dont get it thats all. some people hate axl rose too and I dont understand why :tongue2:

Its all good man, different strokes for different folks :)

:) tomorow I will listen some U2, scared if I end up liking them.

Ha well I'm not sure if they will be your cup of tea or not, but I personally really like them. I admit I initially wrote them off as a sappy band; but even though their songs may not be as hard rocking and straightforward as let's say Zeppelin or GNR they write some really interesting stuff

  6. A thread like this is so dork for me,

Ive been an avid fan of music and musicians for so long now that I have a million bests and favorites.

you people who only know american billboard top10 rock n roll bands, you make me sick with pity.

  7. Guns N' Roses will always have a special place in my heart cause they were the first band to really influence me and when I was a kid they were sort of the bridge that helped me branch out and explore music.

They are one of my favorite bands, but right now Pearl Jam is my all time favorite

I used to love Pearl Jam (Ten, VS, Vitalogy) then lost interest until last year with Backspacer.

I forgot just how amazing they were.

    Yeah they are fantastic!

My favorite albums from them are Ten, Vs. and Binaural, I really like the fact that they are willing to branch out and try different things (same reason why I like GNR too).

  9. It depends on the content, it would be a cool idea

If they do a remaster I hope they dont do what the majority of most remasters do and mix it way too loud, I would rather listen to the original mix than a mix where there is no dynamic range and subsequently sounds like shit. But if the remaster is done properly I would love to hear it!

  10. Wow, I am speechless, I mean some people's comment's here really have me questioning my interest in the forum as of late.

Guess there is a first time for everything :shrugs:

Some "fans" these people are, right?

What's the alternative? HTGTH where only I love Axl he is the best posts are allowed and everything else is literally deleted 1 second after it is posted. Stop being so precious.

Making fun of Axl's weight, which seems to be the same weight as last year, isn't any more mature then being biased and deleting post that you don't agree with. So I'll say it's even.

It's obvious he is heavier, but you know what I don't even care. If he could perform at 500lbs it wouldn't matter.

I'm just putting shit on him because he completely disrespected and insulted fans by turning up unprepared at Rio. For that he deserves ridicule from everyone, fans and media, which is what he is getting.

While yes the show at Rio was less than stellar the best thing to do is move on. There is nothing we can do to change what happened. Obviously Axl is moving on cause the Chile show (at from what the clips show) was awesome and a huge improvent. So why not just move on?
