  1. Adorable! Beta actually thinks other bands would hire her as manager?!

Yes, I can see Aerosmith, the stones, Muse, and JayZ engaging in a bidding war for betas managerial expertise.

The level of delusion surrounding Axl is unreal.

But she didn't say that, did she? The translation goes, "the day I am working for someone different." It doesn't say anything about what position she is talking about, it could very well be in a PA job for some C-level executive anywhere, it doesn't have to be a music management position she is talking about.

It can be interpreted in that way. We are just being facetious.

  2. We're not getting music either way. Band sucks so much.

We just got a live DVD. The release of it probably marks the half way point to the next release of new music -- just to keep us waiting. 2020, here we go.

I really doubt we are seeing an album anytime within the next 2 years.

Your math skills really leave something to be desired.

That was my own personal guess as to when we might see an album. Not 2020, but the earliest we may see a record.

  3. People should get over it, it's a shit ad, but I thought it was cool seeing him in it. How is it any different to Slash's VW ad or anything else? Nobody's ever cared about that.

You're missing the point, too?

There's nothing wrong with doing an ad, even if it includes a shit version of one of your hit songs. Slash has been called media whore, sell out for years, and Axl has been portrayed as the only one with integrity, the one who doesn't do anything for money. Well, there he is, selling himself out for a Budweiser ad, associating himself with a shit version of Paradise City. ZERO INTEGRITY. Should we care? Not really. But in the end, is a slap in the face of those who claimed Axl was one thing when he's definitely another.

I'm not missing the point at all. The realities of the music industry have changed since the early 90's dude. This is no worse than seeing ads for M.A.C. cosmetics or Monster energy at a GN'R show. I don't love any of these things, but I accept them as necessary.

    Actually, you are.

I'm very much aware of how the music industry works and I have no issue with music artists doing ads for whatever they are offered. You don't love these things, I do. I like to see my favorite musicians everywhere I go. That's not the issue.

No, I'm not. Have any of us heard him comment on this sort of thing in recent years?

He's not out there pimping a product he doesn't use. It's a brand of beer that he actually drinks. Integrity doesn't come into it. :shrugs:

So with that notion he participated in the advertisement for no money? Right...

What? How do you figure that?

Integrity is only an issue if he's being paid to promote a product he doesn't consume or use himself. He drinks bud so integrity isn't an issue.

I added more to my post.

So with that notion he participated in the advertisement for no money? Lent out Paradise City at no charge? Because he loves the product... Right...

Axl lost his integrity when he said it was disgusting when bands charge fans to meet them. Only to do paid meet and greets soon after.

Axl has been notoriously media-shy for the longest time. You never see him in music magazines plugging a microphone etc. Then all of a sudden he does this. Integrity comes into this because he never used to do this shit and now he does because he needs the money. That is selling out. He is now whoring his image for the dollars.

  5. Both Axl and Slash are loser sell outs for being in ads. It's the lowest thing a celebrity can do. Much like fucken Alice Cooper doing commercials for Sony Bravia or John Lydon doing a commercial for fucken butter!

Sorry, but this is the reality of being a musician these days (I realise Slash's commercial is a lot older, but w/e). You've got albums selling less than 100 000 copies topping the charts.

I said this in another thread recently, but unless Axl is willing to curb his lifestyle and cut some people off the GN'R payroll, you're going to see more endorsement deals and advertisements like this creep in. He's promoting beer and the World Cup (two things he actually likes) - it's a far cry from promoting butter or a television.

He's never going to get the sort of label funding he wants for another album. That TV spot was probably the most profitable 3 seconds of his life. It's worth it. :shrugs:

Axl has always abhorred this kind of thing. Guess everyone's integrity has a price.

  6. For some reason, I thought Axl would be part of the anti-FIFA brigade, but I guess not.

EDIT: That VW ad is cool as shit, I totally forgot.

  7. Do people really think "what's his name" is a professional and respectful way to describe another musician? Even if he did forget, there's plenty of less offensive things to say.

He's making a deliberate attempt to belittle the lesser known members of nugnr. "Whats his name" sounds like what a Slash fan would say on MyGnR in an attempt to cupcake Axl fans.

I guess hes not heard of The Replacements

Many many people have never heard of The Replacements. Slash could have simply said "He is filling in for the bass player" or "he is filling in on bass duties" though lol.

We're talking about Slash here. Slash is not 'many many people'. I bet he knows more musicians than 'many many people'.

Like someone said, it could be that he just momentarily forgot the name, we can't derive that from one sentence, but don't act as if he has never heard of Stinson.

Do you have any proof he has heard of Stintson? Otherwise your statement is pure conjecture.

Sorry, you got me. No proof. Slash may not have followed GNR at all in the last fifteen years and he may never have heard of the Replacements. It's okay.

Hehe i really dont know if he has heard of Stintson or not. I do admit that Slash's comment is a slight jab at him though.

  10. , the revolving door of musicians thing goes away and some credibility is given to the band being an actual band...

    LOL

This "band" has not even put out a song that they all had a hand in writing together. DJ Ashba has not written one note on an officially released song under the Guns N' Roses umbrella. Ron has not written any released Guns N' Roses tracks as of yet. This 'band' just had a their bass player temporarily replaced for a whole show whilst the original bass player could fill in for no real reason(Tommy was not unavailable). Can you imagine Metallica replacing Rob Trujillo for a whole show so Jason Newstead could fill in even though Trujilo had no other commitments? Neither can I.

This band starts to become a band when they all write songs together and put them out.

will Ashba take over more leads?

Please no... I'd rather have Axl do lead instead...

  11. Axl sounded great but it was Ron that blew my mind with that spot on rendition. It can't be understand we how vital Bucket was to CD. Any high point on that album, odds are bucket has a hand in it.

It would blow my mind if Bucket came back to the band... From various accounts though, he wants nothing to do with Axl's band even though Axl has contacted him several times in the last few years...
