Holy fuck, goosebumps all the way listening to TWAT...
-
He aint going anywhere. As much as i like him for his kindness and guutar skills, the exposure and money he gets from Guns trumps his solo stuff. He haa simply cried wolf too many times iver the years to have me believe he will actually leave this tine around.
-
he looks slimmer in this photo
I hope you are kidding...

What about the power in this ending of Jungle... straight vintage Axl shit.
Edit: wrong thread. Well, the video is still awesome.
This is the best WTTJ since 2012 Philly. ALMOST 2010 voice
This is filmed of a TV the monitor. Does the uploader have the full feed?
maybe, but it's a bit louder than the previous monitor clips
At first I thought you were talking shit about this WTTJ being almost 2010 but then I listened to it.. It is not too far off at all. On par with Philly at least.. Very nice. Any other videos of songs from that show?

Now Dizzy's doing a Kickstarter to pay for his daughter's college! http://www.gofundme.com/9w45qg
OMG. Things are bad in the US if the daughter of a rockstar (well... you know what I mean) has to beg for money for college ?? I'm just baffled. We can argue about Ron's Kickstarter, but at least people who pay get something out of it, a guitar strap, autograph... I'm getting too old.
Why the fuck should people fund some well off musician's daughter's schooling? Is this for real?

If Ron leaves, replacing him with Robin does not really make sense because he can't play the technical work that Bucket and Ron can. If Ashba left(I'm hoping it happens), getting Robin back would be very possible.

Pretty lame really...

Yeahhhh! South American tour part 20 here we come!

It shows that this new band is not working.I voted yes but answer is more complex.
Duff will only return if he's given the place he deserves, as a founding member, not an employee and that includes not only playing shows but writing and recording new music.
Duff is our only hope to save GN'R. He's the one who makes Axl happy, who Axl has respect for and listens to. If Axl can relay on Duff and pass to him some of the responsability of leading this band, we will have a new album and a better Axl, as it's been proven in every show Mckagan joined to play in the last two months.
Don't set yourself up for disappointment. It probably won't happen. But even if Duff won't comeback, he can still work with Axl in the studio, send ideas, and perform with the band live here and there. It wll be better then nothing.
When has the new band ever properly worked? The current line up has been together for 5 years and have never released a song written together. Chances are the next record will be the old Bucket/Finck/Brain material.
-
Fortus can't handle the Bucket/Ron material. He is a good guitarist but some guys on here make it like he is a virtuoso himself when he is clearly not.
-
Not exactly a profile in courage to call Axl out for being completely unreliable on stuff like this.
But, to be honest, I'll take these answers over the "don't know, don't care" variety.
Yeh.... That was a real bummer when he said that. Guess it worked out ok though, least he didn't get anyone's hopes up, considering he said that in 2009 and we still haven't got a record!
-
I wonder what the damn hold up it. In early 2013(Melbourne show), I told Fernando(who was a very nice guy by the way) that "you gotta put out the new record" and his response was "we are trying". That was over a year ago. I really wonder how slow the wheels turn in Guns N' Roses. There was less time between grand theft auto 4 and 5 than there is Chidem and its follow up!
-
He is far from obese. He is not really in shape, but far from obese.
-
Good interview. Thanks Bonham!

I don't know if it has been posted before, if yes, mods please delete
What can audiences expect to see during this residency?
Obviously we’re going to play the classics, and we’re going to do some Chinese Democracy stuff. I think we have a few more little surprises up our sleeves as well.
More solo spots, covers and instrumentals.
-
You are right. Wish he went all out with the 2002 line up. I really loved the general sound of Chinese Democracy and how it blended rock with industrial whilst keeping solos. I think we might get one more record somewhere down the line(probably when Axl decides to forfeit certain ownership to the label, I don't think the label is willing to put another record out for nothing) and that will be it.

Actually looking forward to this. Axl is and has always been an interesting guy. Hope he gets into the details of what happened with chidem, the delays, the label and the situation with the next record.
-
If he leaves or if he stays, I will say one thing, he is an amazing talent. One of the most technically skilled guitarists in the world. Just wish he had a bit more melody in his playing sometimes. I don't personally like his solo songs, but his skills cannot be denied.
-
This is going to make absolutely no difference whatsoever.
This. With no plans for a new album, it is irrelevant. I'm not a particular fan of Bumble's lead work(although he has amazing talent) and I think most of his Guns solos are not great so I won't be disappointed if he leaves. Would LOVE for Bucket to come back but that is not happening.
-
Bring on Michael Romeo!
-
Malmsteen would last one gig before smashing his guitar.
Imagine the dude whittling away on the Nightrain solo or end of Paradise City though. Pointless shredding for hours on end.
LOLLLL and it would all be in the key of harmonic minor(that eastern sounding scale he uses in 99.9% of his songs)!! Can't forget the donuts too!
-
Malmsteen. Bring in the pain.
LOL both Malmsteem and Axl are control-freaks and divas. Malmsteem would not join Axl's band in a million years.

What do you guys think about Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme as a Bumblefoot replacement? He's totally cool with contract work, he's gigged with Rhianna for god's sake. I'm sure he'd do it, but would he be a good fit?
He was offered an audition at the very least and he said no.
That is very telling. Not many people want to join Guns N' Roses for obvious reasons(read, problematic and temperamental band leader).
-
Can you picture Satriani or Vai waiting 4 hours (right behind the curtain) for the singer to arrive before taking the stage though?
Fuck no.
Not a fucken chance. Those guys have integrity and have a work ethic and won't take that shit.
Is the rasp back??

I have only watched a few videos from this years tour and it sounds like the rasp is much more prominent than it has been since the start of the 2011 tour. Am I right??
