aye a tim through and through not that often i come across a fellow celt on a gnr forum

Love it my man. Hopefully put that lot in their place when we meet again.

Credit to them, they've been persistent with getting wins that they wouldn't have managed last year, but minus a few blips, we've been dominant. Hopefully the league table will look a lot more comfortable in time for New Year.

  2. They had written YCBM during the Appetite era, but from what I can remember, they felt something was missing and Sorum then done the intro and they had a "that's it!" moment.

  3. I would have advised him to tell his colleague with the hat and axe to take a backseat on Rocket Queen and let him shine on the outro like he was back in 2012. That way it’ll chop off 5 unnecessary minutes 😂😂😂

All joking aside, it’s promising that Hardschool is on the alt setlist. I would like to think that something is in the works for next year, as if it’s 2021 and beyond, it would scunner me.

  4. I was optimistic after Hawaii, but fuck knows at this point. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the shows in March are a continuation of the NITL tour. I mean, how far are they from pipping U2 as the highest grossing tour of all time? Probably still some distance yet, so they may look to continue under the banner until they surpass Bono & co.

As much as I'd love to see something that indicates that something new is imminent, the last year has hindered my optimism with this band slightly. I still believe they can make a great fucking record. Axl has a lot left in the tank yet, I just hope that he's found his artistic Mojo.

  5. 2016 was amazing. He knocked it out the fucking park with AC/DC and once he got back into the groove with Guns, he was at the top of his game - one of his best years. I'm going to go all out and say I preferred his voice here, especially with Guns, than in 2010 and 2006.

Rocket Queen from Philadelphia 2012 is better than any Rocket Queen from 2010 IMO. Better than anything since too.

  6. Fella's, I hate to burst the bubble, but as far as I'm aware - the woman above, who I believe is the woman in the picture with the hat and shades that we think is Mofo, is NOT Mofo.

Off the top of my head, Mofo's brother is the transexual of his family and has a passion for Barry Manilow memorabilia.

  7. I’ve said previously that 2016 is one of Axl’s best ever years. He killed it.

    2016/19

    2006

    2001

    1987/89

2010 Axl was every bit as good as 06. But the sound of the songs suffered due to Finck leaving. Also, I think Axl sang some songs better in 2016 than he did in 06/10.

  8. Everyone probably has different reasons for feeling frustrated.

There are users here that have followed the band from Appetite and beyond, one album of original material since the release of the Illusion records probably doesn’t sit well with a lot of people - which is only natural, we just want to see the band winning.

I will never stop going to shows, but the lack of variation with the set list is another issue. There is people who have been to loads more shows than I have, but even I was getting a bit burned out by the end of the shows I seen in 2017 as they were mostly the same.

We’re 3 years into the Not In This Lifetime tour and while the band is firing on all cylinders, we were led to believe that the tour ended last year in Hawaii. There is now already dates for 2020, taking us into the 4th year of the tour and it does make you wonder when they will find time to actually hit the studio to get something out.

In my heart of hearts, I want to believe that there is a finished product ready to go, but who knows? Those cunts still have a lot of miles left in the tank, let’s make the next 5 years some of the most fruitful in GNR’s history.

Always separate the music from the person. A good song is a good song.

I had this conversation with a friend of mine a while back. He’s massively into the Stones and said it would have no baring on his love for their music if it came out that Jagger or Keef were nonces (he’s got a lot of love for Bill Wyman)

I’d probably be the same with Guns, it’s just Glitter had a few gems in a bucket load of shite that it’s easier to avoid.
