The guitar 10 seconds in reminds me of Blur - Country House.
Aren't you in for a treat!

Amazing. Love the subtle differences in vocal takes. Drums are great. Axl sounds fucking phenomenal. I hope with any promotion that some of the stations may be doing that it pushes this release as high as possible.

You would need to plug something into it to capture the audio data and I doubt that would go unnoticed.
£/$20 to the bar staff for 4 minutes to occupy the jukebox!

Brian May played on 3 songs when he worked with Axl at the tail end of ‘99/early 2000.
Catcher in the Rye and Atlas Shrugged. We only found out the third song in the last year or two when Tommy confirmed he played on Riad. The solo on the Perhaps from the Village Sessions is definitely Robin Finck.

I live in a small market town in the middle of England. One pub has a TouchTunes jukebox. After trying the soundcloud and other links to no avail I was blown away when I finished work, went down, searched just 'perhaps' and there it was. Three plays for a quid. The lads watching the football were not amused. Fuck 'em. I'm going Wembley stadium to watch the wrestling with 80,000 fuckers in a few weeks.

Great post.
My take is that the mix/mastering wasn't ready. Just speculating from their activity in studios. This is partially biased with hope that the song gets a decent audio treatment, after they learn with the obvious mistake of the brickwalled Hard Skool.
I'll second that hope, though it seems as if it's an Axl call going down that route as the audio from Appetite for Democracy is exactly the same. A massive contrast to what they did going against the norm in the midst of the loudness war regarding how Chinese was mixed and mastered. More of that caliber would be very much welcomed, as often the case, great mastering can elevate a good song into a great song.

Sorry but obviously I really hope you're wrong.
I do still think there's too much indicating that we will for sure get at least Perhaps before end of the year.
We believe more than ever, thank you by taking care him etc
Love the sig! Kudos for throwing in the saltire!!

Yes, it is subjective and certainly personal taste for Tommy to prefer AXL's solo album to GN'R's actual catalog.
However, it is neither of those things to predict that CD will be view historically by the mainstream (not just himself) as the best album released using the GN'R brand. That's just pure insanity not at all based upon anything factual or tangible.
He was asked a question, he answered it from his own perspective. I'm surprised it has rattled as many cages as it has. It's music at the end of the day, enjoy it or don't, the choice is y/ours!

Way late on this…you still have it by chance?
There was a medium on eBay for about 2.5 years at $25. It'll rear it's head eventually, keep an eye out!

Marty Jannetty episode of Dark Side of the Ring is bizarre viewing. What a fall from grace.

GNR should’ve hit the studio to record Wichita Lineman back in 2017 to test the waters, especially with how highly Axl thought of the bands rendition of it and that it reminded him of old Guns.
That said, curious to hear this whatever it is and to hear where Axl’s studio vocal chops are currently. Mitch Lafon claimed a few year back that Axl had done a cover of Children of the Revolution for a T. Rex tribute album. Obviously nothing came of it, but one of the fellas behind the tribute album had heard rumours of Axl doing something for another project.

Finish what was initially intended with Chinese Democracy. The songs that didn't end up on the album that we got in 2008 were never leftovers, they were intended for future releases that for whatever reason never came to fruition. Axl to my ears was at the very top of his game vocally and creatively during the initial Chinese sessions. It's a travesty that the material has been sat on for this length of time, finish what he started and get them out for the public to hear.
There should be plenty of time down the road for them to create a new album from scratch, but whether or not it actually happens...time will tell.

I was hoping Big Dunc would have done well at Forest Green but can't imagine another opportunity to be his own man will appear any time soon, at least at that level.
An interesting weekend up in Scotland.

But it's not the song's name 😂 I know you're not the only one, so it's nothing personal, I just think it's ridiculous that people so stubbornly call a song completely the wrong title. Every song has working titles, yet somehow this one sticks as if people think it's some cool badge of honour that they knew about it before everyone else.
There isn't a song on Chinese Democracy called 'The Blues'.
It was The Blues for 7 years before the album dropped. Axl introduced it as that when they first played it. It's not a big deal, each to their own!

I wouldn't, he even plays the solos different on Estranged live now, I don't think he really goes for any note for note accurate approach anymore. Seeing as it was heard on just soundchecks and not real shows on top of that, he might have just played a what-the-fuck-ever sort of thing.
I do hope that is the case, I hope to be proved wrong!

I’d be surprised if the solo is different to what Slash was doing at the rehearsals but time will tell.

Or bluntly put: "Guy involved during Chinese Democracy years and who was never a fan of Appetite for Destruction, says CD is the better album." Still delusional to think that what he was involved in came anywhere even close to what the band achieved artistically back then.
It’s all subjective my man, we all have different tastes.

I can see how Buckethead might be difficult to work with. Freakishly talented, but probably a guy who has to things his way (or 'no way').
At various times, he lost the chance to be lead guitarist for RHCP and Ozzy Osbourne, because he insisted on being 'Buckethead' at all times.
I heard that they had to turn his amp down for much of the 2002 tour, because he insisted on noodling his way through the songs (which was putting everyone else off).
Lest we forget that some people were concerned about what might be going on in that chicken coop that he had built in the studio during the CD sessions.
And it's very telling that his solo shows are just him playing over a backing track (or at least the ones I am aware of. Maybe he does have a little Buckethead band nowadays?)
One of the things I got a kick out of was when Canter mentioned Bucket was always in full regalia in the studio. I have a hard time imagining this but allegedly it was the case. Canter was out at some restaurant and seen Bucket there and said hello, only Bucket was dressed in normal gear and had the look of utter shock that he knew it was him.
You may have seen pics of Axl from around ‘01 and ‘02 with the same fella. The guy has posted on social media fan sites etc as he’s practically met every member along with most of the alumni. He mentioned Bucket coming out to speak with fans after a GNR gig in 2002, no gimmick, and saying he’d sign anything but no photos for obvious reasons.

Really? First I'd ever heard of it was the Village leaks so that totally flew under my radar. Who mentioned it?
